This place was fantastic! We arrived early with friends who had been here many times before...doors open at 4:30PM for dinner. They are also open for lunch from 11AM -2:30PM. Note, hours are different on the weekend. We were told the restaurant gets very busy & sure enough by 5PM the place was packed. Sushi Katsu is in a strip mall with a small parking lot & limited parking. The ambiance was nice with traditional Japanese decor & I liked that the booths were private & tucked away. Our Server was fast & attentive. We all had the All You Can Eat Sushi for $30.95. Make sure what you order you can eat, if you have leftovers you'll be charged. The sushi was wonderful! It was fresh & delicious - a beautiful display of food. We shared about ten different rolls, ranging from eel, lobster & shrimp to even BBQ. The eel was one of my favorites. We came in for all you can eat lunch and there's tons to choose from! Service was great. We came in 30 min before they were done with the lunch special and let us know we needed to be done eating by then. So we did feel a little rushed but that was our own faults. The folks there did come by often to make sure we were don't ordering which was nice. Inside was nice and clean, nothing to complain about. The sushi was pretty good, especially for the price! Everything was pretty tasty but you also won't get the same quality as a non all you can eat. Overall, I was very happy with what we got for how much we paid. read more

Went for lunch with a coworker. She suggested this place and we decided on the all you can eat. The price was reasonable. We ordered salad and miso soup and selected our nigiri and sushi rolls. The nigiri and rolls came right away. We ordered a second round and asked for our salad and miso soup which hadn't been served. They brought the items for us. The place was busy and the shared parking lot is small. The sushi was good. Not great but solid. The unagi could have better sauce and the fish slices for the nigiri were not amazing. Still, I enjoyed the lunch and the service was attentive even though they were busy. I think for a landlocked state this place is good for sushi. The place is clean and well run. I would recommend. It's been over seven years since I've been here, we were up on Havana picking up her car from service, when my girlfriend said to me, wanna try Sushi Katsu? I said, really? We were both hungry, she a little more than I and it was early, 4:40pm, so we drove over, a mere four minutes in traffic away, and quite frankly, we had a really nice, easy going, comfortable meal. Fresh nigiri, salads, four delicious rolls, I had miso soup and gyoza, she had veggie tempura, baked salmon. Albacore roll, delicious, Caterpillar and two Alaska rolls, all very tasty. She wanted fish, me too and we left both satisfied and content. Nothing fancy, we wanted comfort and unpretentious atmosphere. Parking is right outside, can be a little tight when busy. I used to go to the one in lakewood many times,both that was years ago. But I had a desire to have sushi, so I went to the Sushi Katsu in Aurora. I had the buffet. It was ok but it was lacking. The nigiri was a bit small. The maki was small and non fish parts seemed wrong I am sure someone else could describe better. NO SASHIMI. The parking lot is a little crowded, but the food made up for it. I will take a star off, only because the service was slow, and nobody seemed to know who would be serving us. Otherwise, the food was phenomenal. Really fresh sushi; the eel roll was so good. Jalapeño poppers did not skip out on any spice!! Sushi Katsu in Aurora is one of the better all you can eat sushi places. While I'm not a connoisseur by any means when it comes to sushi, the rolls and fish served here are always fresh tasting despite being in a landlocked state. Service is fast paced and our food came out within a couple of minutes of ordering. I tried the spicy tuna rolls for the first time and they were excellent-not fishy at all. My general standby for sushi is California rolls and vegetable tempura-both were great here. Highly recommend the dinner all you can eat menu for $31. DOWNHILL SLOPING!! I'm not sure what is going on here, but the quality and cleanliness of this restaurant is dropping! I'm always seeing new and different servers as well as different chefs. It's like 50% of what it used to be like and it breaks my heart to see. Most of our cuts of nigiri were quite small and the rice always fell apart when picked up with chopsticks or fingers. Many pieces of sushi was sloppily prepared too, but it was crazy busy and with new chefs working, this can be understandable. I will say that the food tasted mostly as good as previously reported in my other reviews. They ran out of miso soup but when a fresh batch was made, we were brought fresh, steaming hot bowls that were wonderful but served with disposable plastic spoons. The servers were almost frantic busy as if they weren't sure of what to do, but they got our orders correct. In my opinion, it wasn't a well-run establishment this evening. Our wait time for 3 people was about an hour and many large groups of people were there probably due to the holiday season. read more

Sushi Katsu has a great AYCE deal - $24.99 for lunch and $30.95 for dinner. All you can eat is no joke. They will keep the food coming although they have put a 2 hour seating limit per table. Lots of options in appetizers, nigiri, and rolls. Rolls have plenty of ingredients and are generous portions. One of my favs is the Volcano Roll with crabmeat and cucumber topped with white fish, spicy mayo, masago, scallions and sweet sauce. Stopped by here for lunch recently and was surprised to see the all you can eat lunch is now $26. I think it used to be $20. Great quality ingredients and service for the price. The ambiance/decor is dated and the restaurant itself smells a bit musty when you walk in which was a little concerning. Don't be surprised if there is a short wait as they don't accept reservations but the servers are very quick and get you in and out as fast as you want. You can't expect to have extremely high quality sushi when it's all you can eat, but it is good. My favorites are the unagi and the white tuna. Of note, their all you can eat menu is abbreviated from their full menu, but still includes a good selection of rolls, nigiri, appetizers, and even a few specials. While the price has increased to $25 per person (I remember the days when it was just $15!) one nice bonus is that you get one special roll per person included, and a small Blue Bunny ice cream for dessert. Even though my expectation for quality is slightly lower for all-you-can-eat sushi, I thought most of the rolls were pretty good. The pieces of the sushi roll are inconsistent in size though, some of them the smallest pieces of sushi I've ever seen while some pieces of the same roll are humongous. The fish was quite tasty though all around and I liked how soft the rice was. Very easy and pleasant to eat. What I didn't like though is the interior and the unpleasant wait staff. The wait staff walks around with a persistent frown on their face and they don't really greet you on arrival or thank you when they give you the check. The inside of the restaurant is a bit chaotic with boxes and supplies everywhere. I also felt like it was filthy and potentially unsanitary. When we sat at our table the table was dirty and sticky and the wasabi and ginger was already out. Only god knows how long the wasabi was sitting there for because it was dry. The seaweed and tofu in the miso soup was quite chewy as well, making us think it was stale. So the food was good for the most part but the dine-in experience was less than satisfactory. It's a great spot if you really feel like you're in the mood for a ton of sushi at regular sushi lunch/dinner prices, but I personally don't see myself returning. read more

I would not recommend this place for all you can eat sushi. They offer a large variety, but the quantity does not make up for the quality. First for a Sunday night, there was no wait to get seated. We were offered drinks quickly. Two people in my party wanted all you can eat. I had eaten here before and knew that the all you can eat wasn't good so I opted to get a dish. The all you can eat was exactly the same experience as before. The appetizers were mediocre at best. The fried calamari came out quickly but was inedibly tough to chew. The wontons and miso soup were fine and so were the edamame. The rolls are really where this place fails the most. The rolls use way too much bland sushi rice and have essentially no protein. I get it, it's expensive to do all you can eat, but you can get better quality and more fish in your sushi at a grocery store. There was so little fish in the rolls that we couldn't discern between the salmon and the spicy tuna rolls. They were packed with cucumber and very little fish. The food came out at a great pace for those wanting a little bit of food at a time so it doesn't overwhelm the table. The service was fast and apart from a little misunderstanding when running our card at the end, the experience with the staff was good. read more
