We came here last Saturday evening with our kids and were hoping for a good meal. I've always thought of trying this place. The place is clean and the staff is really friendly and attentive. However that's where it ends. The menu is pretty extensive with many choices. I chose to have the chow mein with beef chicken and shrimp with crispy noodles. As an appetizer I chose the skewer chicken which was very good. The food didn't take too long to arrive and looked pretty good. I was surprised to see the crispy noodles on the side on a separate plate. I'd never seen that before. So I dug I'm expecting a tasty meal. Man I was wrong. This dish had ZERO flavor. I mean the meal literally had no flavor whatsoever. I can't remember what my kids or wife had. But they didn't even finish half of their meals. So I would steer clear of this place. Mikasa 2 opened up years back and at that time, the quality was great! However, my latest visit, it was disappointing. Note this was all takeout meals. I got a few items. The moo goo gai pan with chicken had no flavor. I've had this dish before at different places for comparison. The chicken tasted fried and oily. The veggies were good. The shrimp lo mein was a bit better. Great amount of shrimp and a generous amount of noodles. A bit on the salty side. The pork sweet and sour was probably the most decent one out of all the orders. Downside was the batter ratio. More batter than meat. Lastly, the egg drop soup had a funny taste. Granted it was served in plastic containers. It could've been the hot soup mixed with the plastic taste. It wasn't pleasant. I'd suggest to eat inside the restaurant for maybe the better fresher taste. I'd also maybe suggest the lunch buffet could be the better option as well. The customer service remains top grade. The owner and staff are very professional and polite. I came here around early noon on a Friday. Luckily, the buffet was open during this time and usually stays open until 3pm. Upon arrival, we were greeted immediately and seated within a minute. We were given a menu and the server took our drink order. The buffet was our main event so we put the menus aside. I loved to see that they had some boba tea available! The food at the buffet was okay. It filled me up and I enjoyed the the flavors it did have, however I could taste the oil more than the spices. The food was also not to a temperature I'd prefer. It wasn't completely cold, but definitely close to room temperature. I feel that the quality was fair with the low price of $26 for two people at the buffet. I believe I will come back to try other dishes on the menu, aside from the buffet. read more

Stopped here passing by on a motorcycle trip and enjoyed it more than our regular places in Phoenix. Friends and I got the kung pao and cashew chicken and it was all very good. Vegetables were fresh and staff was very friendly. Definitely give them a try. read more

For the Common Wealth: The only decent Asian restaurants I have found in the last 3 years are in Albuquerque, nothing else even remotely close to Chinle. Recent floods made me detour on my way back from Gallupp, and I accidentally found this unassuming restaurant sitting on a mall at Window Rock. Expecting the food to be mediocre as usual, I ordered two dishes in order to discard the one less palatable. OMG, I ended up devouring both! Mongolian Beef and Pad-Thai (With peanuts!). So, if you're seriously hankering for good asian food, now you know here to find it. Just 30-40' away from Chinle. Enjoy! read more

Wow....about a 4 hour drive from Lake Powell area to Window Rock and this is the first town with a restaurant, other than McDonald 's or other fast food (it's incredibly sparce and rural). And while I had zero expectations and could only hope that the food didn't make me sick, I'm pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. Certainly not gourmet food or high quality ingredients, but very clean, decent food and great service (Leandra is awesome). I had the pad thai with tofu and fried wontons. read more

After driving several hours and starving, we stumbled on this place because of yelp. Would not have been my first choice for lunch if I was in a metropolitan area but there is nothing out here for miles, but it all worked out fine. There is a lunch buffet, which can be yummy if you get the piping hot fresh food, and not so yummy if you get the last pieces of food in a container. Service is usually pretty good. I like ordering from the menu. they have delicious wonton soup, which only comes in a medium or large and is made to order. I've ordered the moo goo gai pan which is yummy. I've also ordered fried rice and Singapore noodles. All in all, a great Chinese restaurant on the Navajo Nation. read more

I came here without high expectation and that was pretty much it. Came here with a friend and ordered the hamachi plate, beef and broccoli and chicken low mein. My favorite was probably the hamachi plate, the chicken was cooked perfectly! The beef in the beef and broccoli was okay. My friend thoroughly enjoyed the lo mein, however i thought it could use some more seasoning. This place is not great, but it does the job. read more

This is a great place, the food, people and service are outstanding. We had been on the road 5 hours and we had reservations to spend the night. We had so much food left over, we took it back to our room and heated it up for a late night snack. My wife had a large bowl of won ton soup and she loved it, I had egg rolls with General Tzu chicken and friend rice; it was great. They have another location in Ship Rock and based on what we had I would go there for sure. Friendly and quick service. But super busy on tribal paydays. I love the shrimp cashew. And noodles and rice, other than that I stay away from the chile hot stuff. The reason it's one less star away from extremely good is the poor fish out front. I think they need a bigger aquarium. Better yet set them free in a big pond. The food here is 4 stars better than the previous Chinese Food restaurants that have tried to find a home in this building. We come here to dine in or take out no matter how big the crowd. Even tribal paydays cannot keep us from enjoying this delicious food. We have always had a great experience here. I am glad that Mikasa 2 is here in Window Rock and we are lucky to have it. The reservation has its share of restaurants but once in a great while, a place like this emerges. read more
