After learning that this restaurant made the top 100 list on yelp, I came here expecting to be blown away, but came away disappointed. It's very unassuming from the outside and I nearly drove right past it. Inside, it's very tiny with maybe 4 tables to sit at. When I came in, I wasn't sure what to do; sit down; go to the counter in the back; wait? I wasn't greeted and there were no signs telling you to seat yourself. Luckily there was a customer at the back counter placing an order and I got in line. The guy at the counter who I assumed was the owner was taking an order from a young girl. She wanted a boba tea and handed him her bank card. The guy gruffly told the girl that he can't take her card because her order was not over $10. She made some other suggestion and the guy raised his voice and practically yelled at her that her order is only $4 and needs to be over $10. The poor girl fled. Next, me. I got orange chicken with fried rice and a taro tea with milk. I had my to go order taken by a young lady and my payment was taken by the gruff guy. I chose to order to go because there was not a lot of room. He rang me up and gave me a receipt to sign. I asked if I could get a copy of the receipt for my records. He stared at me for a second or so, said "No" and turned around and left. I was confused and pretty annoyed at this point after his treatment of the young girl. Normally I would have left by now, but they had taken my payment without giving me a receipt! I asked the young lady for a receipt and she said I would get it when I'm getting my food. She also told me the wait would be 40 minutes! I had no choice because I had already paid. Eventually I got my food and left. I found a good spot to eat hoping the food would redeem the rudeness. Again, I was disappointed. The chicken was cooked well and tasted good. However, the pieces were literally swimming in a greasy mess of sauce that was all over the inside of the to go bag and on the container. I had asked for it to be spicy but there was not even a hint of spiciness in the sauce. I could barely make out the orange peel and other flavors normally in orange chicken. It was so greasy and sweet I could only eat a few pieces before it got to me. The fried rice was dry and there were no onions or any other veggies. The only other thing added was soy sauce and a few thin strands of what appeared to be egg. I ate a few bites and had to wash it down with my tea drink to avoid choking on the dryness. The taro tea was very sweet and barely had a hint of actual tea. I might as well have been drinking Nestle Quik; it was all sweetened milk. In short, it was a terrible first experience at this place. I honestly can't think of how it made the top 100 list. Maybe I came on one of their off days or got the wrong dish but with the awful customer service I experienced, I don't want to go back. read more

Love this husband and wife hole-in-the-wall in Grants. Originally from Orange County, Calif., these folks put out some terrific food. The portions are huge! You will come across an extremely questionable building that somehow has gotten a five star rating on Yelp?!? "Do I try it", you ask yourself.... Yes, yes you do. You will not be disappointed. The portions are crazy huge. We ate ourselves pretty much into a food coma and we left with four filled to the rim take home box's (not tiny Chinese food box's, like 10x10x2 box's). "What the heck did we just order".... everything. Owner was so sweet with plenty of suggestions for the next time we come in. Gave us a ton of extra stuff. Free egg drop soup, free fried wonton, free vegetable roll and free candied apple dessert. WOW....that's all I can think to describe the food here....just WOW! Probably the best Chinese food I have ever had. I work all over the country, and discovered this place a couple years ago while driving through Grants, NM (discovered via another Yelp reviewer) Tonight I had the Spicy braised shrimp. It was hot, but oh so flavorful! The shrimp were plump and perfectly cooked, toss in the fried rice it came with and the meal was complete. I also need to mention the wonton soup...get it...don't think about it, just GET IT! The broth is like no other ive encountered. It is peppery and yummy, not a plain wonton broth. Also, in addition to the pork filled wontons, there are shrimp, chicken, pork, carrots, and snow peas in the soup. It is a very small town, and the outside, is..less than inviting, it looks kinda old, but please do not let that discourage you, park and go in, it is very safe, and your stomach and palette will be very thankful! read more

The owner and his wife are fun to chat with and the food comes out hot and well executed constantly. I recently got the Mongolian beef with steamed rice. I came through Grants in 2017 and decided to try the food here because I was curious what Chinese food in small-town NM would taste like. Being from SoCal, I'm pretty spoiled when it comes to Asian food. The restaurant is authentically Chinese, decor and all. I ended up chatting with the employees (owners?) and learned that they were also from SoCal! Despite that fact, the food here is very Panda Express-ish in terms of taste and greasiness. I feel that they needed to Americanize their dishes, so the food wasn't as flavorful or fresh as I usually get back home. Still, it's pretty cool that this exists, and I give them props for setting up shop and bringing Chinese food and culture to Grants! read more

We stopped by tonight for dinner after reading good reviews on Yelp. The place was a bit difficult to find and the street is one way. After circling the block for the second time we located it. It was well worth the double take. We were first brought an appetizer of fried wonton and mini egg rolls with awesome sauce that was on the house. I ordered wonton soup hut was told by our waiter that it was a large portion that we may want to share. Glad we took that advice. The wonton soup was delicious. It was packed with chicken, shrimp and pork along with veggies and noodles. I ordered house special fried rice and my boyfriend ordered shrimp lo mein. We both can say it's the best Chinese we have ever had. The staff was extremely nice and then gave us a dessert also on the house.
