***BEWARE BAIT AND SWITCH PRICING*** I called MIke to schedule a pickup for yard debris and he quoted me $295 for up to 5 yards of debris. I then texted photos of the debris pile to MIke to confirm it would fit in the truck. Mike said he couldn't guarantee it would fit without seeing it in person (fair enough) but said "it looked like it would be close." Instead of sending the $295 truck though, Mike sent a much larger truck and when his crew arrived they informed me it would actually cost $1,400 using the larger truck, which was way bigger than what was needed. I took a day off work to be home for their 11am-1pm pickup window and now I am out a days work and stuck with a driveway full of yard debris. It sounds to me like this bait and switch pricing is not a one-off but may be part of their business model. I would recommend you find another company to do your hauling for you. read more

I used Mike & Dad's to do a basic cleanout of a lot of recyclables that had been building up as I preparing to end my lease. The guys showed up on time, the price was very competitive and they were polite and respectful the entire time. My only complaint - and I suppose it's not a bad thing - is that they're so good that they can be, at times, difficult to schedule. I notice others have been able to get same day appointments, so I suspect it's regional; certain areas and cities have more coverage than where I was (Salem). I was in a hurry! My landlord does not play when it comes to high standards. I thought I could hide some old junk in my back porch because it's fenced off well the fire inspector had to look at the sprinkler system and that provided me with 24 hours to rid my mess. So the guys show up this morning around 9ish to my parents house. This a surprise because my parents have a problem with not getting rid of stuff. I arranged to have Mike & Dad's Hauling to arrive after 3 pm to pick up a load of junk. In the late morning, they called asking if they could come early as a job had canceled on them. As I was away, I said we would have to stay on schedule. Come 3 pm, no one arrived, 4 pm no one arrived, 5 still no one arrived. I called a few times between 4-5 with no with one answering. 6 and 7 pm went by with no large or small trucks arriving.   While I know schedules change, the minimum one could expect is someone returning my call. An even more professional course of action would be to call me prior to 3 pm and let me know you would not be able to stop by. read more

Couldn't be happier! In less than 30 minutes, the unused hot tub on the deck was cut up and in the truck to be hauled away. The crew worked efficiently as a group, which reinforced my decision to hire them over any of the 4 other companies I had called. The quoted a price on the phone, confirmed it when they arrived and they were almost half of what another company said it would cost becuase the hot tub had to be cut in pieces to get it off the deck.
