They send out two guys to do a free estimate for us within an hour of contacting them! Not only did it end up costing us less than other companies, they were able to get to it the same day. After a really frustrating experience with another company (they gave me a 7-day pickup window, showed up in a pickup with MAGA stickers, and still left junk behind!), I was dreading dealing with my moving mess again. As I fixed up my old house, I kept accumulating more junk--plus furniture no one would take off my hands. I started calling around, but most places either didn't answer, never called back, or quoted me outrageous prices ($1,800-$2,500+). I was about ready to give up when I finally called Big River. From the very first call, Steve was incredible--he answered immediately, gave me a clear all-inclusive quote ($550 for a whole truck), and was able to come out the very next day. He arrived exactly on time at the start of his 30-minute window, with a helper who was just as kind and professional. They worked lightning fast, sorted items responsibly (separating hazardous materials, metal, wood, etc.), and fit as much as possible into the truck. We ended up needing two trips, but they came right back, reloaded in record time, and still cost only a fraction of what the big national companies wanted. Steve and his team were polite, efficient, and truly went above and beyond. If I could shout their name from the rooftops, I would. Unfortunately they scratched my wood floor and concrete walkway on their way out. I understand a piano is heavy, but I expected them to have handled this without damaging my property. The man there told me that I had to make a reservation because it was "faster." I explained that I am visually impaired and cannot make a reservation on my phone because I cannot see it well enough. He told me he did not want to help me. When I explained to my brother what the situation was, the man told me to leave because I was "talking behind his back." If I could give this place and its employees zero stars, I would.
