I am a local geriatrician MD and at times I have to refer my patients to a cardiologist. Words can never describe the care nor magic Dr. Mike does (we call him Dr. Mike because trying to say his last name Dr. Vasilomanolakis will twist your tongue and cause it to knot). He is a master at his practice and more. No matter what the medical topic, whenever I need help or 2nd opinion or advice, I reach out to him and he has the answer and I try it on my patient and it works. He is truly an artist and the the definition of "the art of medicine" to the dot. I have learned so much from him not just from medicine but also on how to build rapport with patients. He spends so much time to get to know the patient. In the hospital he brings a chair and sits at the patients' bedside and talks to them not just about their immediate health condition but their past and their hobbies and likes. In his office he books one patient an hour and he just takes his time seeing the patient. I know this because at times I have accompanied my own patient to the visit to continue to learn from him. I read some comments that some people got upset that he asked them to leave for no shows and the reason he does that is he does not overbook and when someone does not show, he really loses that hour. I myself when I refer a patient I have my office call them 2 days before and day before to make sure they don't forget or miss this appointment. And once he sees the patient, he sends me this amazing note on very nice paper detailing his visit and his recommendations (I share this because it goes to show how passionate he is about what he does). It does not matter where you live, if you need a cardiologist and are lucky enough to travel and get to Dr. Mike consider yourself very blessed and lucky. Dr. Mike is one of the finest Cardiologists California has to offer. I don't know what Anastacia is talking about as the office staff is top notch and exceptionally patient friendly. Dr. Mike saved my life! He listened intently to what I had to say regarding my query of a warming sensation in my heart. He attempted to give me an EKG on the tread mill however being out of shape, I only reached about 6 minutes. The EKG was normal however Dr. Mike was not satisfied and scheduled me for an angioplasty almost immediately. He found two coronary occlusions one 95% and the other 85%. i.e. I was a walking corpse. He put in two stints and normal circulation was regained. Dr. Mike not only knows what is going on he has a bedside manor superb in quality and knowledge. This is a Doctor that treats his patients like humans and not like cattle. He is thorough and asks questions exclusive to the patient and spends the time seeking a solution. read more

This doctor is only concern about getting most money by providing additional service not needed to bill insurance companies. He also has a short fuse, one time I heard him screaming at his staff, that wasn't so professional. I wonder why I see lots of new staff faces, everytime I visit that clinic. read more

I have been using Dr. Mike for heart and other health issues for at least the last 15 years. I find him to be exceptionally knowledgeable, professional and personable. His primary strength is taking time to explain all the issues relating to my health, and there are many, and his recommended medications and solutions. I routinely ask him numerous medical questions and he always takes time to answer them thoroughly and courteously. I have had other doctors give me nothing but curt and even evasive responses. Dr. Mike strikes me as a person whose primary objective is to help others. From my perspective he is very good at doing so. At first he seemed genuine enough, but this year he became more iinterested in money than caring for my needs. I M 82 and diabetic and I was tired and stayed in bed. Then the next time,I decided I should voluntarily stay home due to covid. I had to cancel 2 times recently and left messages that they denied receiving. I received a bill for $40. OK by me. THEN i received a letter complaining that my time slots could go to another patient and he was dropping me and referring me to 2 other doctors. I asked them to send me my records which will cost $25. Fine by me. Interestingly, in two years time I have seen only one other patient in the waiting room and one other time, one patient was in an exam room. In addition, they refused to re prescribe an RX and I had to go without. In addition the one staff member was very mean spirited...even hateful. Offices are a bit old and shabby by 30 years or so. I can not imagine a doctor with less Understanding of his oath to Hypocratis. read more

The kindness and patience of every member of his team, made him less afraid of undergoing the EKG and ECG--stressful, even when you understand what's going on. Dr. Mike is simply outstanding as a physician and a person. His diagnosis of my medical issues was thorough and complete. His approach and mannerisms are professional and courteous. I went to him because of his credentials and experience, i.e. he is a graduate of a first rate US university and medical school (University of Illinois) and was formerly Chief of Staff for his hospital. I was not disappointed. He explained his diagnosis in layman's language taking his time and fully answering all of my many the questions. I can compare this to an HMO where the doctors had 12 minutes to spend with me and rushed me out of their office. I left Dr. Mike's office with a feeling of comfort that I was examined by a competent professional who focused in my health and welfare. 0 stars the office manager, receptionist, billing department and dr refused to schedule me an appointment even though i have three types of insurance that they take. I wasn't told until four phone calls and an hour later that the dr. Told them he doesn't want to see me as a patient. I simply called the office and asked if they were taking new patients. I was told yes but first i needed to call billing to verify my insurance before i could schedule an appointment. After i called billing i called the receptionist back to schedule and they said i needed to call billing again because i had forgotten to tell them something so i called billing again and was told to call the receptionist again. I tried again to schedule an appointment and asked for the office manager who said the dr doesn't want to see me. When i asked why she said it was because they do not take insurance referrals or self referrals and that i would have to get a referral from my primary care even though my insurances do not require referrals. I was so frustrated! I couldn't believe even though i told them a million times i was willing to pay cash for my copayment or whatever wasn't covered by my insurance they acted like i couldn't afford it because the cash price is $800. I have three insurances i am sure that it is mostly if not fully covered but they tried telling me they could charge me the cash price If i wanted to come in. How ridiculous and preposterous that office manager tried to take advantage of me by charging me cash or else no appointment. After all that time wasted and personal information given i would never want anyone else to go through that. They are frauds they collect all your social security number birth date insurance info address phone number family info and then refuse to treat you. I wouldn't be surprised if they are scammers selling identity fraud information. I have never written a review before but stay away from this office!!! read more

I can only click on 5 stars, but I would prefer 10. Dr. Mike has been my physician for many years, my parents and grandparents also and is one of the finest Physicians I have known. He is extremely knowledgeable and highly professional. He has a gentle manner that makes you feel comfortable. He actually listens with compassion and concern as to what you have to say, and doesn't rush you out and on to the next. His office staff are always helpful, kind and cheerful.
