I have been a long‑time customer of Mike Haggerty Buick GMC, and this is the first time I have ever felt the need to post a complaint. Unfortunately, after multiple incidents and inconsistent information from the service department, I no longer trust this dealership with my vehicle. On 03/03/2026, I came in for an oil change and a tire sensor error. When I got back into my car, the tire sensor light was still on -- I hadn't even left the lot. I walked back inside and informed the service advisor, Pedro Zavala, who seemed rushed and frustrated. He had previously told me the issue was fixed when I asked before paying. He then took my keys, drove my vehicle around the dealership several times, and brought it back into the bay. After about 10 minutes he returned and told me the TPA was bad and that he had temporarily gotten the sensor to work by spraying "something" to hold it in place. I had already waited over two hours, so I scheduled a follow‑up appointment. At my 03/18/2026 appointment, the paperwork stated that Fix‑A‑Flat was found on the sensor and that the TPA was replaced for $278.36 -- consistent with what Pedro told me. On 06/25/2026, the tire sensor issue happened again. Despite having a 7:00 AM appointment, I waited two hours before being told that Fix‑A‑Flat was supposedly used again -- which is completely untrue. I have never used Fix‑A‑Flat. I was then told I needed another TPA replacement, this time quoted at $390. When I asked why the same repair suddenly cost more, the Service Director, John Coan, responded with: "Why are groceries higher? Why is gas higher? Parts cost more and labor costs more." This was dismissive, unprofessional, and did not address why I was being charged again for the same unresolved issue. Both John and Pedro later claimed they would "never spray anything themselves" and that no such action was documented -- even though Pedro clearly told me on 03/03/2026 that he used a spray to temporarily fix the sensor. The conflicting statements and lack of documentation are extremely concerning, especially since I only service my vehicle here. A reduced price of $260 was eventually offered, but no real explanation was provided for the repeated failure, the inconsistent Fix‑A‑Flat notes, or the pricing differences. I have recommended family members to this dealership over the years, and they have experienced similar issues. This is my second incident, and after the repeated problems, contradictory information, and the way I was spoken to, I feel insulted and will no longer be returning. I scheduled my 7,500-mile service appointment two weeks in advance, expecting basic professionalism and customer service. Instead, I was met with rude, dismissive staff who acted like I was wasting their time. After checking in, I was bluntly told they couldn't service my electric vehicle at this location for two months as they only had three EV Techs -- something that was never mentioned when I made the appointment. No apology. No attempt to help. No solutions offered. To make matters worse, they asked if I bought the vehicle from them -- which is completely irrelevant. Service is service. Whether I purchased there or not shouldn't determine whether I'm treated with basic respect. I also spoke with the Service Manager (John Coan) had a horrible attitude and couldn't have cared less. The overall attitude was essentially, "We don't care -- take it somewhere else." That's exactly how it felt. No accountability for wasting my time, no effort to assist, and zero concern for the customer experience. If you own an EV, don't bother coming here. And if you value professionalism, communication, or customer service, I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Once I decided on the vehicle I wanted we went into the negotiation process. Once again Hani was great! There was no pressure and the conversations were had with me. After dragging us through the process for over an hour, they casually informed us that the car had been sold earlier that day. Everything from negotiating a trade-in price, and car purchase price, and receiving the care came with HUGE PROBLEMS. The vehicle was FILTHY! The previous owner's information was stored in the car's informatics system! There were NO FLOOR MATS, food, and dirt under the seats, scratches that were deep and not visible (we bought the car at night). The car was dirty and the gas tank was EMPTY. Gone are the days when the customer experience mattered! This car went through an inspection? By a blind person? Calvin Tines was my salesperson, nice guy, but had an excuse for everything! I spoke to Katie Haggerty who was as excuse-laden as anyone. Lavonse Johnson basically told me I was a liar for telling him what was promised to me during our sales deal. This company made promises they did NOT KEEP. Very bad business model for those of us who live locally. Patrick Cunningham was the only person there in sales who was genuinely concerned about my experience. Patrick is the ONLY reason why anything got done! Service another pit hole. Promised a loaner. The promise was not kept! They charged me $179.00/ hour to diagnose 5 different things that were all related! $895.00 PLUS TAX and NO work was done! If I authorized the work, the price jumped to over $4000 for a broken drain tube in the sunroof and subsequent damage. I will be contacting the attorney general and filing a complaint as they violated the Automotive Repair Act issued by the IL General Assembly. This is price gauging! The whole experience was time-consuming, frustrating, and exhausting. I love the vehicle, however, I will travel 100 miles away next time to buy a car and NEVER ever patronize MIKE HAGGERTY BUICK GMC! On 8/20 I took my car in for a routine oil change. Upon arrival the service tech, Joe, was extremely rude and gave off an air that he really didn't care about providing a pleasant customer experience. My car sat in the initial drive in area with no one coming to get or taking my car back to be serviced. I was exhausted from an overnight shift and had two children with me so I went to inquire about what the hold up was and how much longer before I would be serviced. Joe was extremely smug and condescending in his reply stating that it would be at least 45 min-an hour because there were no repair men available. I told him to hold on while I called other dealerships to see if they had appointments. Not even 10 minutes later I turn around and my car is gone. Of course I inquired about why my car had been moved and he said that it would be done in 10-15 minutes. At this point I was over the whole ordeal already but it unfortunately gets worse. When he brings my paperwork out there are a number of repairs they said were needed but no quote was given because I was in a hurry. After leaving I read the repairs over and one of them sounded very pressing. It said that my rear differential axle seals were leaking. I called back to ask how serious the issue was and Joe says "we'll they're leaking and they're not supposed to so . Exasperated I hang up the phone. Joe then calls me back saying that he asked the repair tech and says the lines were "very wet" upon inspection. Thankfully I decided to see if the repair would be covered under my extended warranty and ended up taking my car to be inspected at Levin Tire and Service Center in Highland, Indiana. After a short time of being there to repairmen looked at my car and told me there was NOTHING wrong outside of normal west and tear. They had triple checked and neither of the line were leaking. They also said if it were leaking I would know. There would be oil splatter on my tires and also an oil puddle in by driveway. To say that I was flabbergasted that Joe and the team at Mike Haggerty Buick attempted to scam me out of $1200 is an understatement. How many unsuspecting people had they done this to?! My point of going to the dealership was to avoid these kinds of games but clearly that is not the case at Mike Haggerty. Beware and trust this place at your own risk. I personally will never pay them a single cent of my money and will share this story with everyone I can. read more

As a Canadian, in 2022 I blew out the turbo in my GMC 3500 - Haggarty Buick wanted $15,000 ( American - $21,500 Canadian ) as a DEPOSIT so IF the motor was blown they could replace it - didn't even look under the bloody hood...waited 3 days for my company to swap trucks instead, brought it back to Canada ( thank the Gods ) and was charge $650 "CANADIAN - about %500 American ) to re-attach the Turbo - yep. just to re=attach it. Bought the car from Haggerty which was not a problem in 2018. Car ran well. Engine light when on. When I took to dealer wanted to charge me $189 to check why the light was on. Said know. I told a neighbor and he had a device that he just plugged into an area that diagnosed the problem. Took to a mechanic who did the same thing--no Charge. But after driving the car the light went off. A year later light came on again took it back to the dealer. had to be out of my mind. I told them what the problem was and they quoted me a price to fix it of $990 plus tax. Said know so took it to a mechanic in the area. He charged me $215. Service departments are a rip-off will never go there again. I did contact the dealer and told them about the descrepncy in the price, but they offered no explanation. They also wanted to charge me for a brake job I did not need. read more

I went there for service, was told there was a $165 diagnostic fee but "it rolled over into repair costs" after diagnosis they tried to charge me for diagnostic, parts & labor. I asked about the diagnostic fee being applied to the repair total and was told it does not because that only applies when you are getting same day service and they had to order a part and I had to return another day when the part arrived. Unhappy with the miscommunication I spoke to a service manager Mike, he waived the labor fee for me which makes the price more fair and reasonable. Thank you Mike. read more

BEWARE of the service department just replacing parts on your vehicle without approval. This place is a total joke. Waited 2 1/2 hrs for what I thought was an estimate and the car comes out repaired. No estimate, my advisor didn't even glance at me the entire time I was there until I approached him after 20 minutes of my car being pulled around. When they told me I owed 400.00 plus for a repair I didn't approve I was told they would remove the part. My advisor and the warranty mgr both agreed it was ridiculous. Visited GMC today for an oil change. The service rep advised me that unless I signed a NEW disclosure form that they could use non gmc products and parts on my vehicle and that these parts and products could void my warranty and If I did not sign they were refusing service to my vehicle. First let me state that he asked me to hurry up and sign the form, as there was a line of people waiting to check in, without me even having an opportunity to READ the form. I advised him that I don't sign anything without reading it. I advised that I would sign but state that I do not agree. I also stated that I had a coupon in my vehicle on the seat when he checked my car in and he refused to acknowledge this, as well. He was not friendly and or apologetic. This will be my last visit here at GMC Haggerty in Oak lawn which is disheartening because this is the first time, including the purchase of my vehicle, that I have been provided bad service. Prior to check out, one of the managers approached me regarding my concerns. I still did not feel comfortable with the disclosure. I also contacted another gmc dealer and they were not aware of this disclosure. The agent also removed the coupons from my vehicle and gave me a whopping $5 discount after I persisted. An hour later, I received a call from a sales manager. He started the conversation on my disappointment with the service visit and somewhat "apologized" but begin speaking to how I could get a good buy back offer on my vehicle and I should come back to the dealer for an appraisal on my vehicle and buy a 2019. I'm posting this review with anger. I would like to preface this review by saying it has absolutely nothing to do with my salesman, Frank. He was terrific! I purchased a car earlier this year. I had difficulty with Carmax's finance department not posting that my car was paid off through Haggarty. Before calling Carmax to ask if Haggarty did, indeed, payoff the car, I called Haggarty to find out why they didn't pay it off. It was my misunderstanding. Carmax was updating something on their system and even though their records showed it was paid off, it wasn't being reflected on my credit report. Today I called Haggarty to speak with their finance department to apologize for being mad at the wrong person. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of MY finance guy, but I do know his voice. My call was answered on speaker phone (which I consider to be unprofessional) like this, "sales, Lavonse Johnson speaking". I said I'm not calling for sales, I asked for the finance department. Like I said, I know what my finance guy sounds like and this wasn't him. I told him I wanted the other finance guy and he asked me why I was yelling at him. Granted, I raised my voice because I wanted finance and not sales. Mr. Johnson said he is finance so I asked him why he said he's in sales. He couldn't be bothered with me and said he'd take my name and number. Before I could say anything, he hung up on me. I immediately called back asking why he hung up on me, telling him that's poor customer service. He argued with me. I told him I purchased two cars from Haggarty but because of him, they lost customers because a few family members have also purchased cars there and my husband was going to purchase a car from them the next time he was in town. His response was: "I'm sorry, is that a plus or minus? Is that a good or bad thing? Sounds like a good thing for us." This review is to acknowledge my most recent dreadful experience with Mike Haggerty Service Department in Oak Lawn, IL. My vehicle issues started when my factory warranty expired in 5/2022. Let me mind you my vehicle was purchased brand new from Mike Haggerty Dealership and that's where all my service appointments took place.I did purchase the GMC extended warranty through their Mike Haggerty dealership to ensure there was no lapse in coverage. My car has had all recommended service appointments. On November 28, 2022, I brought my vehicle to be service again because the first issue was they changed my vehicles brakes and rotors and they had been squeaking ever since 2/2022. They continued to say the sound couldn't be duplicated, but for some reason when I drive the sound is heard with no problem. I won't even go into the pricing because everyone thought the price I paid was ridiculous. Service manager Mike- who has no remorse and speaks to you with little to no respect needs customer service training let alone a refresher class to develop skills needed to work in a managerial position successfully. I revisited several times with the same noise complaint and now lets fast forward to 10/2022. After several attempts of being told the noise issue that I continued to report about the brakes could not be duplicated. I requested to have a manager and/or technician accompany with a test drive. Mike- service Manager did hear the noise as soon as he drove the vehicle and it didn't require me to accompany him during the test drive. When I arrived to pickup my vehicle I was told that the technician changed the break pads and it would cost almost $400 my response was they were just allegedly changed in February of 2022 so why would I be charged again within 8 months. I requested a manager and Ken assisted and stated the paperwork and amount needed to be adjusted. That was the 1st issue. After that it seemed as if they continued to find any and everything wrong but could never fix it properly. The extended warranty company was billed almost $4000 for a repeated problem that they never fixed. My vehicle was in their possession from November 22, 2022 -December 9, 2022 and December 13, 2022 - December 27, 2022 for the exact same noise. Noise that generates only when the car is put into reverse and the steering wheel is turned to the right. With the frustration and being told it's time to purchase another vehicle at 74,000 miles I reached out to the ext warranty company who advised me to take it to another GMC Dealership. After researching, I did find a dealership on 1/6/2023 and now I can say I no longer hear the noise. The advisor at the new dealership stated that my car should have not been returned to me in that condition due to it being a safety hazard. Did I forget to mention the part that was broken (that caused the noise) on my vehicle that required replacement was listed on Mike Haggerty's paperwork as being replaced?. As a customer within the past year I have never experience so much agony, deceit and inadequate service. The service advisors are not to be at fault because their job is clearly to advise. They are not the certified technicians for the vehicle repairs. Dan Gallagher did that to the best of his knowledge.The services were not performed adequately and there is no accountabilty for the mishap.This problem could have been resolved, but I have yet to hear from anyone on their managerial team. Enough is enough! As a woman I feel that I was taken advantage of and overlooked. After reaching out to General Motors directly to complain about this experience I was told that I would receive a call from Haggerty within 72 hours. No one ever reached out to apologize or even to see how this problem could be resolved. Mike Haggerty service communicated through General Motors that they already sent me a refund check (have not received anything as of yet) for my warranty deposit and they would like for me to call and confirm my home address. I called on yesterday and once again no manager would speak to me. Again, I would like to thank Dan Gallagher for assisting me thorough this ordeal. Hopefully this information can help someone else with making a decision prior to choosing Mike Haggerty for any of their car service repairs. read more

THIS DEALERSHIP IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY !!! THEY CHEAT ON CUSTOMERS!!! I had very bad experience here. 3 years ago, I leased a 2018 Buick and now my lease gonna end within 2 month so they called me to talk about the next step, which is weather to buy this car or get a new lease. They told me it will be $27k if I decide to own this car. I trust them (which I shouldn't) so I singed the new contract , it was on a Friday afternoon. But when I went back home, I had a look at my old lease agreement 3 years ago, I find out the price should only be $20k. So I came back next morning. Let them cancelled the new, unfair contract. After that I got a car loan from American Eagle Bank with a much lower interest rate than this dealer gave me ( 2.74% vs 3.99%) and the price is $20k. So what I have been experienced is this dealer, they tried to buy this car from me without letting me know and they will sell this car to me at the same time! They made me signed a lot of papers and didn't gave me copies, these papers are actually saying I will sold this car to them. So can get $7000 more from me. IT IS CONSUMER ABUSE!!!! SO please don't go there because I am lucky I get the new contract cancelled, but not everyone will be lucky. If it was possible to give negative stars, I'd start there based on the outrageously unacceptable experience I had at this dealership last week. I had come in to test drive a 2016 certified Acadia and had a nice experience with the salesman, Sam. Because I had a rental car with me, I was unable to purchase the vehicle that day. The sales manager that day came over to speak with me and offered to take the price down to $26,000 as an incentive to buy that day. Again, I wasn't able to make the purchase due to having a rental car with me. I came back to the dealership two days later, with the full intention of purchasing the car, and when Sam called your sales manager, John REDELSPERGER, over to begin the process, John said there was no way he could sell the car for $26K. He went as far as to question whether I was being truthful. At that point, Sam pulled out the worksheet he put together on Tuesday when we started the initial negotiation process and showed the manager the offer of $26K was legit. The manager shrugged, said "that's what we do sometimes to get you back in the door" & "everybody does it." He then follows up by saying the lowest he can sell the car now is $27K. His demeanor and attitude were condescending and borderline sarcastic. He walked away from the office and yelled for someone to move the car back to the lot because there was no sale. I was completely stunned. I had taken an Uber down from Avondale to your dealership and now, instead of driving home in the new Acadia like I planned, I was going to be paying another $40 to get home. Add that to the price of childcare and taking the day off, I LOST close to $100. Avoid Mike Haggerty's dealership. They admit playing games to get your business, making you doubt every word that comes out of their mouth. read more

After spending close to two months looking for a car with okay credit and dealing with liars for salesmen, I searched and found this dealership. We went in to look at a 07 Ford edge that had listed two days prior. We test drove and walked out with keys in hand in less than an hour and a half. Our salesmen Dan Fontana was amazing! He treated us with respect and no bullshit. I have never had such a smooth transaction for buying a vechile as this. The salesmen were all very friendly and not looking at me for comission sales only. This place was great and my mom now has a newer car with lower miles and there was no headache trying to purchase the car. Brought my 2021 Envision in two months ago because of messages I was receiving via the dashboard and email that something was wrong with my transmission. They said I was low on coolant and that was causing my problems. I asked if there was a leak and they said no...Fwd two months later (yesterday), I take the car in for an oil change. 4 hours later , Dan tells me that a small leak was found and they didn't have the parts to replace it. There is no ETA on when the part will be in . Their solution?? For me to drive in every week, so that they can add coolant to my car. Ridiculous. They got me into a rental after I wrote a negative Google review. It's now been 4 weeks and and have not been updated once. My weekly emails, and weekly phone calls, have gone unanswered.
