I needed an oil change and because my car is at 45,000 miles I decided that I'm going to start taking it to the dealership so they can check everything more thoroughly then just taking it to the nearby oil change place. Webb Chevy Oak Lawn I had one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a dealership at Webb Chevrolet. On Monday, April 27, 2026, I went into Webb Chevrolet in Oak Lawn, IL specifically to confirm whether my vehicle was still under warranty. The service advisor told me YES -- that my warranty would remain valid until October 2026 or 85,000 miles, whichever came first. I was also told my vehicle had approximately 84,800 miles, so I should bring it in immediately before the warranty expired. Based on THEIR information, I made an appointment for the very next day. After dropping my vehicle off, I waited to hear what repairs were needed and whether the warranty would cover them. The service advisor later called and listed multiple issues found during diagnostics. I told her that as long as the warranty covered the repairs, they could proceed. I also requested a loaner vehicle and was told one could only be provided once work officially began. About 30 minutes later, I received another call completely changing the story. Suddenly, after "further research," they claimed my warranty had actually expired long ago because it was supposedly only valid for 24,000 miles or two years from the mileage when I purchased the car. In other words, the information I was originally given was completely inaccurate and caused me to bring my car in under false pretenses. Since the repairs would not be covered, I declined the work because I could not afford it. That is when the situation became outrageous. I was then informed that while THEY were performing diagnostic testing, they blew off my water outlet, making my vehicle unsafe to drive. Despite the fact that I drove the car into the dealership without this issue, I was told I would be financially responsible for repairing the damage because, according to them, "it would have blown regardless." That logic is absurd. My vehicle was damaged while in their care, yet they refused to take accountability. Because my back was against the wall financially, I even attempted to trade the vehicle in just to get out of the situation, but I was unable to because of the negative equity on the car. I also attempted to use their Sunbit financing option to cover the repair costs and was denied, which resulted in two hard inquiries on my credit report. Instead of helping resolve a problem they created, I was left feeling trapped, financially cornered, and bullied during the entire process. When I spoke with sales manager Jim Jordan, he doubled down and insisted I would have to pay. After about ten minutes of a tense discussion, instead of trying to resolve the issue professionally, he threatened to call the police on me. I have never been treated with such disrespect as a paying customer. The following day, I spoke with Service Director Sean Drane, and the only reason any money was taken off the repair bill was because I explained that I am a kidney patient living on a fixed income and undergoing dialysis three days a week. Mr. Drane mentioned that his son-in-law had recently received a kidney transplant, and it seemed that was the only reason any consideration or compassion was shown at all. Even then, I was still expected to pay for damage that occurred while my vehicle was in the dealership's possession. This entire experience was dishonest, unprofessional, and disgraceful from start to finish. I was given incorrect warranty information, had my vehicle damaged during diagnostics, denied accountability, financially cornered, negatively impacted credit-wise, and then threatened when I objected. I would strongly caution anyone considering bringing their vehicle to Webb Chevrolet in Oak Lawn, IL. Purchased a $12,000 dollar car, put $6,000 down and still owe $12,000. Plus, went in for an oil change and needed brakes afterwards. Called the sales person and he instructed me to talk to the sales manager. That never happened, I was told I still have some time before my brakes were totally done. The problem is, I told the salesman about the brake issue on the test drive. He assured me that they would put new brakes on. This was literally four months after the purchase. Deceptive Out-of-State Buying Experience - Poor Transparency & Accountability In May 2025, I began the process of purchasing a 2022 Cadillac Escalade from Webb Chevrolet in Oak Lawn, IL, remotely from Texas. I've bought from other out-of-state dealers before and had smooth, transparent experiences. Unfortunately, this was the only one that left me feeling misled and taken advantage of. The sale dragged on due to delays in the finance office, and I didn't officially complete the purchase until June 2025. I picked up the vehicle on June 21, 2025, after spending several hours at the dealership. My contacts were Nas Zaiden (Finance Manager) and John Hickey (Product Specialist). Despite being there in person, no one offered a walk-around, disclosed any issues, or mentioned missing components. I was simply handed one key fob with no explanation. After I returned home, I discovered: * A cracked rear entertainment screen * A gas tank door that doesn't open * Missing grille components * No cold-weather diesel plug or cable * Only one key fob, requiring costly replacement While I was still at the dealership, I had to personally point out rear fender damage while the vehicle was in the service lane for a check engine light and dead battery issue -- neither of which were disclosed before delivery. The only photos I received prior to pickup were from John Hickey. While they looked clean and professional, they conveniently avoided showing key problem areas, including the damaged fender, the malfunctioning fuel door, the missing grille trim, and the cracked rear screen. In hindsight, these omissions do not feel accidental. I emailed Tim, the General Manager, on June 23, giving him the opportunity to address the issues. He initially replied, saying he'd review the inspection report. After that, he never followed up. In his final message, dated June 26, he said: "While it's never our goal for a customer to leave dissatisfied, the value and cost of this pre-owned 2022 Escalade in Oak Lawn, IL, likely influenced your decision compared to similar vehicles available closer to your home in Sanger, Texas." Instead of taking accountability, the blame was placed on price -- as if that excuses cutting corners and withholding information. Yes, the vehicle was sold "as-is," but that doesn't eliminate a dealership's legal responsibility to disclose known defects -- especially to an out-of-state buyer with no fair chance to inspect the vehicle before purchase. As of July 11, 2025, after giving the dealership every opportunity to respond professionally, I've filed formal complaints with both the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the Illinois Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. We have a 2025 Equinox that was showing low tire pressure. Took it in for service around December22, 2025 and they informed us that the tire was cut on the inside and the tires cost $600.00 ( This the second tire we have replaced this year) both cut inside. After getting the tire replaced we drove home and parked it in the garage, Because me and my husband was sick. We went to drive the vehicle for the first time ( a week later) after replacing the tire and it said low pressure. We took it back and they say it was cut on the inside in a back tire now . CUSTOMERS BEWARE! Record all conversations with this dealership! My service advisor lied/misled me, saying my extended warranty might cover damage caused by squirrels if they separated the symptoms into multiple $200 bills, even though they knew this would not be covered. This tactic was blatantly only meant to increase their profits. Something that should have been $200 became $600. My biggest mistake was not recording our conversation. They left my car unlocked for the ENTIRE WEEKEND with all my expensive tech and personal items inside. They admitted their fault, it was a huge security risk, and still didn't care to bill me fairly. They also claimed my battery needs replacing, even though my LoJack showed it was fine at 12.5V when I brought it in. During its stay, it dropped to 10.4V, and now I have battery issues I never had before. When they jump-started my car, which they let die and unlocked over a weekend, the center screen malfunctioned/didn't turn on. They blamed it on the battery, but after I refused to pay for a new battery and demanded I won't leave with an issue I didn't have before, they "reset" it--proving they knew it was their fault, and knew how to fix it. Shady practices and untrustworthy service--AVOID this dealership. Illinois customers: YOU HAVE RIGHTS! Consumer protection laws exist to prevent dealerships like this from blatantly ripping less educated drivers off for profit. If you believe you were treated deceitfully, file a complaint with the Office of the Attorney General. Always record your conversations and scan your error codes, More likely than not your cost for an attorney will cost less than your dealership bill. I have been taking my car for service at Webb Chevy for 8 years and until recently found the service good but now racked up three incidents of damage and or not completing the ordered service on the car. I will explain but do not bring your car for service here and from the service manager (Sean Drane) don't even buy a chevy since even a new chevy can burn oil and they can start burning oil anytime even after just 58K miles as in my case. The service manager Sean Drane stated he checks the oil in his Equinox every week apparently being necessary. Since this conversation I have had discussions with several professionals. My car is not burning oil from inspection nor is it leaking oil more they did not put nearly enough oil in it when I last brought it in last time for an oil change leaving my car clunking and I am wondering why. It was bone dry and irreparable damage was done to my car. My car swallowed 5 quarts. The prior two incidents of damage were a tire pressure censor damaged during a tire change which they replaced. Also, they sealed a tire air nozzle to the point I could not put air into the tire and they corrected that for no charge. They said they mended a tire and did not leading us to cancel our Thanksgiving. No charge for repairing the tire after Thanksgiving. read more

It was my first time here and I had a great experience! First, I want to say that Breyana in the service department is such a sweet heart. She was very patient with everyone. She had all sorts of crazy people in the line but she remained calm and professional. She also made sure the mechanics did my request for a tire pressure reset (they didn't do it at first). I caught it and she stopped everything then ran to talk to them. That's great customer service! I would recommend to talk to your sales people however. There was an older about in his 40's African American gentlemen on Saturday who I think was bold. His office was on the left hand side when exiting using profanity excessively. Waiting 3 hours for an oil change when you have an appointment that was scheduled three months in advance should be a crime. When asked for an update I get "it'll be ready any minute now". It's 30 minutes later and I'm still sitting here while people have came/went. An oil change is the most basic thing you can get done at the dealership. There is no way it takes 3 hours to complete. The Sales Manager, Chaz, and Accessories Manager (no name), and Salesperson, Sylvia Barrera are devoid of morals, ethics, and honesty. When I was presented with a Sales Agreement, there was an "Accessories" charge included for $3,986. Turns out it's for a 7-Year Extended Warranty ($3,577) and a Rear End Deterrent System ($399). I said I wasn't asked about these things and didn't want them. That's when Sylvia had to check with her manager. She tells me he said the items were now being required by GM for all their vehicles. I tell her that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard and that she just lost the sale. Then I get a call from the nameless (he gave it, I just don't remember it) Accessories Manager. He tells me it's true that GM has made those "Accessories" mandatory with all 2022 models. That if I bought a 2021 model it wouldn't be required. But he had another idea. Instead of using my credit union for my loan he'd get my monthly payments lower. By going through GM Financing my rate would be lower. I had no intention of going through with the purchase at this point, but I figured they'd wasted my time and turnaround was fair play. So, the rate was a whopping .5% lower. No. So now I get a call from Chaz, the Sales Manager. He also confirms the new "GM requirements". I hung up on him. I then called Chevrolet Customer Experience to confirm whether Webb Chevy was lying to me. They confirmed that those Accessories are still OPTIONAL for all their vehicles. So Chevy called Webb. Brought My equinox in for service on November 2, 2021 for a rear loose inner lower panel. Before they could look at the vehicle, I had to pay $163.88 before they would take a look at it. I was told I would need 11 clips to have the panel put back in place. I was given a sheet of paper to take to the parts department to order the clips. The clips cost $127.34 was told by the service department, they would install the clips at no charge. I called to schedule an appointment to have the clips installed, went back on Thursday November 11, 2021 Upon arrival they wanted Me to pay to have the clips installed. I had the piece of paper that shows the clips would be installed at no cost to Me. I was the told while waiting that I need a new panel, the service manager was involved, he said I'm not buying You a new panel. I never mentioned anything about them buying a new panel, I just wanted them to honor what i was told and had documentation for. Then they said I purchased the wrong clips, how could I purchase the wrong clips when they gave Me the paperwork to give to the parts department to be ordered... Anywho the clips were finally installed, the panel is still loose, and they scratched the rear bumper while the vehicle was serviced. When I mentioned it, a few guys from the service department approached Me and were upset, kept saying nope, wasn't us, not sure what they thought they were gonna do. I told them to check the driver vehicle inspection sheet and cameras, they document any type of damage on the vehicle inspection sheet prior to being serviced. The service manager shows up a little while later, said they're not responsible for scratching the vehicle, by that point I was done with them.
