DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR TO THIS DEALERSHIP!! I paid $918 to have my brake pads and rotors replaced. Despite paying for the service I am still hearing loud squealing noise everytime I hit my brakes. I have brought the car in 3 different times and they still weren't able to fix the issue or issue me a refund. Their own service documentation confirms that the brake noise remains unresolved even after their third attempt to have it repaired. I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL BECAUSE BERMAN DOES NOT WANT TO ISSUE ME A REFUND OVER THIS FAILED SERVICE. I would not recommend this shop if you're looking for reliable brake work or any auto repair work in general. These people are not professionals and i'm shocked at how they are still in business despite all the State attorney general complaints they have against them. read more

This is a bad dealership to do any business with. They had two SUVs I was interested in,and made an appointment to come in to see them. Once there the salesperson,Jerry, told me they were sold. Instead of leaving I was bombarded with his sales pitch. The next thing I am doing is signing a contract for a 2021 Jeep Cherokee. Yes, I test drove it around the block in the daylight. However, when I drove it at night I couldn't see out those dark tinted windows,especially out the back one. I drove it back because they advertised we buy your car. They wanted to give me much less than I paid for it, I only had it for less than two weeks. GM told me I would get more if I purchased another car, I didn't want anything from them. General Manager told me he would work with me April 12th will be a month and he has not kept his promise about removing the the dark tint. Car sitting in my garage. I have bought many vehicles from Mancari's with great service after purchase but this is not the case with Berman. I had my 2025 Ram truck with 4300 miles on it towed in on a Thursday morning before the service department opened because it wouldn't start . After numerous calls to find out what was wrong it took calling 2 managers before getting called back on the following Thursday to say they would look into it and call me on Friday. Friday I received a call at 5:50 pm that the truck was repaired and I could pick it up on Saturday. 9 days after towing the truck in , I drove it off the lot and it was starting but 6 hours later the engine light came on and the headlights were going on and off with turning left or right ( which was never an issue) . The receipt I was given shows they received the truck on Monday and that customer states " erroneous warning lights on dashboard " which was never told to the service staff. I clearly told 3 different technicians it was running fine and then just wouldn't start. Why would I have a truck towed in if it was running? Absolutely the worst customer service I ever experienced! Update: now I've been in touch with 3 different salesman including their manager. None of which were very helpful. I've bought and sold many cars in my life (10-12 cars). Never have I ever had this much resistance when trying to purchase a vehicle! The last 3 vehicles were purchased from the continental US as I live in Hawaii. I had some difficulties with the first 3 purchases but at least those other dealerships were willing to work with me. The first salesman that contacted me was from their "internet sales". He stopped responding once he learned I was in Hawaii as he said they wouldn't sell a car w/o the buyer test driving the vehicle and signing in person. The second was a sales manager and said they had in person buyers in the process of buying it. This only came up after I asked if they could provide financing. I offered to get my own financing and the car was magically available again as it would be a "cash sale". The 3rd was another sales manager and said the car now has "major problems". I purchased a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee a year ago from Berman Chrysler. It only has 5200 miles on it. Last week out of now where it would not start. My husband jumped it and tested the battery. The jump worked and battery tested fine. Then this morning, it would not start again. Of course making me late for work. The Extended warranty I purchased covers battery and towing, however I called 20 times from 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM and could not get anyone on the phone. I also sent 10 texts/emails in that time. I finally spoke to someone at 2 and was told yea sorry, I don't have anything until 9/17/25. This would have been great to know this morning!!!!!! I have a family trip next week and need my car. I should not have these issues with a new car. It is completely ridiculous. Sales department was okay at the time, however today they would not return my call or email. Let me preface my review by saying I had an additional problem with this dealership before. A cover was not secured correctly after an oil change there and it became loose and a hazard on the expressway while I was miles from home. I was forgiving as they replaced the cover for free. Now, to my recent terrible experience. On December 6th I dropped my car off for an oil change, cabin air filter change, and to get my blind spot sensor fixed. I was told by the service advisor, Keith that my car would be ready in some hours and he'd call with an update. Well, that day I received no update and attempted to call for an update before they closed. I got no answer from the service department phone (an extremely frustrating and FREQUENT occurrence). The next morning, I still hadn't heard anything so I called the dealership again. This time I was able to speak with Keith regarding my car. He said that my car wouldn't be ready yet and that he would call that Friday with an update. No call. So I call several times and receive no answer. The pattern continued. Me being told after I finally get a hold of them that they'd call with an update and them never calling as they said. I continued to have patience because they explained the problems would take a while to fix. They gave me a loaner car so I tried to be fine with the lack of communication. Finally, after over a month of my car being in the shop, I called the dealership upset because I still wasn't getting updates. I called the manager of the department and left messages. Never heard from them. The frustration of being transferred around several times because the service department wasn't answering the phone, in addition to the extremely poor communication for a month finally got to me. I called the department upset and Keith said my car would definitely be ready the next day and I'd get a call. I told him I was frustrated with the lack of communication. Keith tried to explain that my number was wrong. He was the person who did my intake and typed up the documents (including my number). He said that they had the wrong number and were calling the wrong person. Even if they had the wrong number on the intake paper, they still had the customer portal to text me from but never used it during the service period (they conveniently used it to text me when my vehicle was ready later). So what stopped them from using the customer portal when they got no answer from that number when trying to update me? The correct number was obviously entered in the customer portal but the portal was never updated while my vehicle was in service. What is the excuse? I received no call the next day, which is the day I was promised my car would be done AFTER MY NUMBER WAS CORRECTED. So the next day I called back. Unfortunately, the only reason my car was ready the day after it was ACTUALLY supposed to be ready, is because I had enough of the shitty service and had to get indignant. After over a month of terrible communication, on January 12th, I called Keith for an update and said that "the customer service I received was shitty ass service." Of course, this made Keith upset, stating not to curse at him because he is a human being. Well, am I not a human being too? Did you not think about the frustration I went through for over a month? After telling him not to cut me off, I told him I wanted a definite date my car would be ready. He then said it would be ready that day. About 40 minutes later I received a text from the customer portal that my car was ready, the same tool they could've used to communicate with me and avoid me getting upset. Lastly, regarding the loaner, Keith put on the form inaccurately that the tank was full when I left. I took a picture of the dashboard around the corner from the dealership after I left so I'd know what level to fill the car to upon its return. A quarter of the tank was gone. Again the form said full. The dashboard obviously showed it wasn't full when Keith walked me to the car and got the fuel level. It would've been impossible for me to burn a quarter tank of gas in 11 minutes, the time that lapsed since I had left the dealership with the loaner car. I would've had to drive about 84 miles at 400+ miles per hour. Why was it so hard to put the correct fuel level on the sheet? None of these problems make any sense and the only explanation is a lack of care and incompetence. I would never recommend Berman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram to anyone, not even my worst enemy. Waited two weeks for a service appointment. They had the car from 1/4/23 to 1/27/23 During that entire time they almost never returned calls or answered their phones in the service department. After leaving a negative review here on Yelp I get a generic response to contact a pkeegan the service director who may or may not even exist because both times I emailed him, he never responded. We finally pick up the car Friday evening and on Monday afternoon the "check engine" light comes back on again. I hook up scanner and it's throwing the same misfire code that got this whole thing started in the first place. We call the dealer and they tell us next available time to get in is in another two weeks!!!! Ummm nope! I filed report with Office of Attorney General along with BBB. Stay as far away from this dealership as possible! Nothing but aggravation and flat out lies. I do not rate one star often - however this place put forth a real attempt at attaining this rare placement. If you want to be reminded not to trust people, I encourage you - have your vehicle serviced here. In the cold of winter, my auxiliary battery in my hybrid vehicle decided to go out. I do my own work when I can, and changing a battery is nothing harder than changing my underwear in most cases. Not knowing much about hybrid vehicles, and knowing how dangerous they can be to work on, my scope in fixing them is limited. I did, however, remove the electrical disconnect while changing the auxiliary battery, as recommended. Apparently, this disconnect is not easy at being put back in because my vehicle did not want to function at all after that, and I could not figure out why. I had the vehicle towed to this wonderfully organized Chrysler shop after booking an appointment for 1:00 PM. Turns out the appointments do not mean a thing because they didn't even look at the vehicle beyond check-in until the next day. I found that out after waiting in the jail-cell looking waiting room for an hour when the adviser told me it was a "drop-off". I stopped in the next day to retrieve an item from my vehicle and it was in a mechanics bay being diagnosed at 10:30AM. I asked when it had gotten in there, to which I was told 9:30AM. I was then told that I would receive a call once they found the diagnosis. At 11:01, they phoned me and informed me that they found what was wrong, the disconnect block was not in and had to be disassembled and reassembled. I was asked if I wanted them to proceed for the cool cost of $650. What? $650? I spoke with the mechanic during this conversation who then informed me that the work had already been accomplished, and the vehicle was currently working. Wait - I was just asked if I wanted them to proceed but it was already completed? I'm a bit confused... I needed the vehicle so I had no choice but to comply with their obnoxiously overpriced request. A recall was to be conducted the next day so I had to leave it there for two more days. I also had them do a multi-point inspection, which turned out to be passing in everything with flying colors, even though I am well aware that I needed an oil change a few hundred miles ago. Finally, upon trying to talk to them about the cost on picking it up, the cost was broken down to the diagnosis costing $200 (I perfectly understand that), but that leaves the "reassembly" to cost $450. Mind you, a new disconnect costs $100 or $150 at most, and it takes literally seconds to put in. So why was I charged such an exuberant amount? When speaking about it, they stated that the tech also "put back together" the parts that were taken out (by me) which consisted of the cover to the disconnect with 3 screws, and a plastic molding covering the auxiliary battery in the back. This would take me, who is not a mechanic, a total of 5 minutes and that is no stretch of the imagination. They didn't even mind to roll the weather mat back out... I mean, they could have charged another hour of labor for that. Car wash? Not at this high scale dealer. Full charge? No time for that non-sense. Throughout all of this, the service advisor, Terrence, stated that the mechanic wanted to charge 6 hours of labor rather than the 3 that I was charged, so I was getting a much better price than what the mechanic "actually worked". When I received the car, the work order stated the mileage was the same on the in and out sections. What I discovered was that 58 miles were put on the vehicle. Why were 58 miles put on the vehicle? I could go to work and home round-trip 3.5 times on that many miles! They may say they had to test the battery - good try. The battery only gives you 32 miles on a nice day. Quite the opposite in the freezing tundra that it was. All-in-all, it is a bit strange to me how all of this rolled out. I have a pretty good inclination that this was a blatant overcharge of labor hours. For god sakes, the hours were not even outlined on my copy of the work order which kept the charges pretty inconspicuous. I didn't even get a shiny new part to boast over. I wasn't even privileged with a lollipop from the customer service counter, which by the way, is literally in the garage of the shop - never seen that before; even from a corner shop. Please don't rip off customers. It isn't nice. Revamp your service department - starting with the building and ethics training for all personnel. As for the customers, do yourself a favor and go up to Countryside. There is a reason why they do not have any open appointments for a week out. read more

I would not recommend for anyone to bring your vehicle to Berman for service. I had a new starter put in my van by a dealer near my home in Iowa the beginning of November 2024. Thanksgiving weekend when in Oak Lawn, my vehicle would not start again so I had to have it towed. Made the mistake of towing it to the closest Chrysler service center. I was told from the very beginning and several times after that it would be 2-5 days before they'd even look at it because their customers with appointments take priority. I patiently waited 3 days and called just to see if they knew when it would be looked at. Same story. My vehicle is not a priority. I had explained the issues with my starter and what had been done. On the 6th day I called again and was told good news - they had it in to look at it and it's not the new batteries or starter that had just been put in but they now think it is hydro locked and are evaluating that. I was to hear by day 10 if they would need my permission to tear apart the right side of the engine, the left side of the engine, or both to fully evaluate that. Day 10 comes and goes with no word so I called and spoke with someone other than my service rep on day 11. At that point, others got involved both at Berman and at the professional service provider where the original work was done in Iowa. By day 12 my service rep "had good news" that it was actually the starter that was the issue - the one he told me 6 days ago was not an issue - and that I would only be paying for labor, not parts. Day 12 I could finally pick it up. My Iowa service provider had in the meantime been in touch with Berman and was shocked at the unprofessional/non-technical language they used in trying to explain what the issue is. Berman was paid by Chrysler and my Iowa service provider for the supposed work they did. I was supposed to get the bill but some service shops are above board and do the right thing so the Iowa provider paid what I was going to be charged by Berman. Due to their ineptness and unprofessionalism, I am now stuck with a large car rental bill for having to have a rental during this whole timeframe - 11 days for them to be jack me around, 1 day for them to complete the repair and 3 more days until I could drive the 6 hours back to pick it up. Unprofessional, unethical, and not a place to ever consider doing business with. read more

Very upset with the service department. First of all this place lacks the skills of communication. Young lady there (Evelin) needs more training. One of the service managers there (Keith) wasn't any help during the weeks my car was parked there but ended stated to me that he was agitated with me just because I wanted a status on my car that was just parked there for 2 weeks with no work being done on it after warranty gave them the green light to start on it. He also stated that he was gonna bring out the hood on me and I felt really threatened. Keith spoke with my warranty company multiple times and understood what needed to be done but continued to ignore me as a CUSTOMER. BUYER BEWARE! Went there today to see about a used Grand Cherokee. Everything was going well, started negotiating back and forth. During negations I asking for numbers to see monthly financing and I was told the finance guy would provide that and not the sales guy, which is the first time I have ever heard that and raised concerns. After being told by the manger that this is their process and being shuffled into the F&I room, the finance guy seemed confused as to why I was there too because I hadn't committed to a car. I was never presented with the numbers to review by the sales guy and the options he presented didn't make sense to me financially. I was told I could have a similar payment as my current truck, at a very long loan of 72-84 months when my current loan will be paid off in less that 48 months at a very low rate, but he had no empathy when I said my circumstances had changed which is why I was trying to get away from that payment in the first place. Took them a day and half to replace a battery that I don't believe needed to be replaced then another day to diagnose the issue, now it's another 5 days until they can get the part to fix my vehicle. From dropping my truck early morning the service advisor would not take it in because I was too early even after having a 7:00 AM appointment. Left my vehicle there after exchanging words with Jim Jordan about having a bad attitude and poor customer service. He never followed up with me after that to let me know work on my vehicle would not be performed because they never confirmed tires were in stock after having all day to call me. Yesterday, I had a appointment at 8:00 am for a recall and engine coolant flush. I waited all day for my car to get finished. 8 times I called the business only to have it ring, and ring and then hang ups. I could not get a hold of a live person. We waited and received a text stating our car was not done that day and they are holding my car a extra day. No phone call, no explanation. I tried to call back AGAIN. The same thing happened. Noone answered the phone. Woke up this morning, finally got ahold of a person. He said the part they had from the recall was no good and they needed another one. My car now would be ready in the afternoon. I had to miss work because they had my car for a day and a half. I bought a used Grand Cherokee with 20,000 miles on it before it became Berman. The buying process was easy. However the service department is complete and utter trash. I brought my car in for a short in my CarPlay usb only for them to tell me the service agent suggested a brand new radio. I didn't see a point in this because the radio and the usb are separate. Then the service advisor told me that they use a diagnostic device to tell them the problem. Any one with a working brain could see it's a short in the usb and not the radio. Can Berman hire mechanics that doesn't need a silly machine to tell them the problem especially a problem such as this. If I can't trust the service department with my radio I certainly don't trust them with anything that'll actually matter with my car and on top of all of this I was scheduled for 7am I checked 3 hours later to see if they were done and the advisor told me that my car hasn't even been touched for a job that takes 20-30 minutes! The service department is terrible and if you didn't get jerked around with the purchase of your car like I did and purchased the dealer warranty go elsewhere to get your car looked at.
