If I could give zero stars, I would. I paid $36,000 cash for a truck from this dealership, and the transmission failed just 31 days after purchase. That is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about the quality and inspection of the vehicles they sell. A major component like a transmission does not just fail overnight without warning. This makes me question whether the dealership knew about the issue or failed to properly inspect the vehicle before selling it. Now I'm stuck facing thousands of dollars in repairs on a truck I just bought. I trusted this dealership and feel completely let down. Spending this much money, only to have the vehicle become unreliable almost immediately, has been a terrible and stressful experience. We drove onto the lot and were immediately greeted by Hansel Cruz. He asked what we were looking for, and I explained we wanted something under $10,000 so we could pay cash outright. Right away, he asked if the car was for me or my mother, and when I said it was for her, he responded with, "Oh, and her credit's not good?" Which felt like an unfair assumption just because we mentioned paying cash. That wasn't the case at all. We're fully capable of financing, we simply preferred to stay within a budget and pay outright. From there, the interaction didn't improve. He immediately tried to push the first car on the lot, repeatedly saying it was the "best value" and exactly what we were looking for, without really asking questions or understanding our needs. Even after we clearly stated our budget and intentions, he continued to push financing options and seemed dismissive of our price range, almost as if buying a car under $10,000 wasn't worth his time. Overall, the experience felt presumptive and pushy rather than helpful. We were hoping for someone who would listen and work with what we actually asked for. This is now my third vehicle purchase from this dealership, which makes this experience especially disappointing. In late March, I reached out about purchasing a new Toyota Grand Highlander and was told it would arrive in May. In early April, I was contacted and informed the vehicle had been located sooner through another dealership, and I could come in to complete the purchase. When we arrived to pick up the vehicle, my husband immediately noticed an issue with the sunroof. Before finalizing the purchase, I asked multiple times whether I should wait until the issue was resolved. I was reassured by Lupe repeatedly that it was a quick fix and that I could simply schedule a service appointment the following week. I dropped the vehicle off as scheduled, but from that point forward, communication and transparency declined significantly. The service department could not initially provide any estimate on the repair timeline. I was given a rental vehicle with a 150-mile daily limit, which was not practical given prior commitments, and despite raising this concern, I never received a clear resolution. After multiple attempts to get updates from Lupe, I eventually learned from the service department--not the sales team--that the issue had been identified, but the necessary part was unavailable. I was told the repair could take days, weeks, or even months. While I understand that issues can arise, the lack of honesty upfront is unacceptable. Had I been informed that this was anything other than a quick fix, I would not have proceeded with the purchase. The sales team's assurances were clearly inaccurate, and once the sale was completed, the level of support dropped off noticeably. I do want to acknowledge that Zoey and Nathaniel in the service department were transparent and helpful throughout this process. Unfortunately, that level of service was not reflected elsewhere. At this point, I am left with a brand-new vehicle that I cannot fully use, and an experience that has significantly impacted my trust in this dealership. I had checked the blue look value before I went there and they were about 25% under the average trade in value. I made the trade after they increased the value but my my trade in was advertised for sale for over $16,000. I could have bought multiple sets of tires for the mark up on my trade in. These guys are unethical hacks. Do NOT spend money here. Having purchased both vehicles new, wife' RAV4 and my Tacoma, we had a series of free oil changes. Now the free ones are over I'm very concerned in the oil changes that occurred. Both vehicles have oil filters that are absolutely locked on. After an absolute battle I was able to change the one on the rav4, turning what should have been a half hour oil change into a 2.5 hr ordeal. I'm currently battling the oil filter cap on the Tacoma. I doubt that during these services, the filter was ever changed. I'm also missing some hardware on the Tacoma skid plate. They will be hearing from me soon. read more

I had just filled up my windshield washer fluid, I mean almost to the top. Went in for an oil change when I paid the bill they had also charged me $5.40 for washer fluid. So even if they did add an ounce to top it off even more ( I could not tell that they had) it still aint worth 5 plus dollars . And....wiper fluid top off used to be free. You really should "Try Mike before you buy". My daughter was finalizing her purchase of a New 2023 Toyota Forerunner with the nicest sales person...Dylan. I only came along for moral support and to give her a ride to pick up her beautiful new car. While there, I just mentioned that I would like to find a car to just "beat around town" in....something not very expensive but nice. I told him to keep me in mind if he ever runs across anything interesting. All while "closing the sale" with my daughter, Dylan "heard" my need. Once he had finished the purchasing details of his sale with my daughter and she was in with the Finance Manager, Dylan began really listening to me and answering all of my questions patiently and thoroughly, and he took the time to understand what I was looking for in a car. Within 24 hours I was getting a ride from my daughter to finalize paperwork to purchase my "new to me" Toyota. Dylan was very patient and understanding throughout the entire car buying process. He didn't pressure me into buying a car that I didn't want, and he was willing to work with me to find the best possible deal. I also appreciated the fact that Dylan was always available to answer my questions after I purchased my VERY nice 2013 Toyota VENZA. He has been quick to respond to my emails and phone calls, and always willing to help me out with anything I needed. PLEASE don't take your vehicle to this dealership for service! I purchased a new Tacoma in 2023 and it came with 2 free oil changes. Each and every time I took the vehicle to them for service, there was an issue. First service they left the caps off my tire valves, small I know but it speaks to the lack of attention to detail. First oil change they left oil on my steering wheel and shift lever. Second oil change they left the OIL FILLER CAP off the filler tube on the engine and I drove it over 2000 miles before I noticed it missing. I took it back to service where I received lots of fast talk and excuses, but they agreed to change the oil and filter, clean the filler neck, and rep[lace the cap that was left off. In a little over 1000 miles the Change oil service light came on because they failed to reset it when they changed the oil. Now if they reset it, it will be 9000 miles off for the next change, leaving me to pay for a change sooner than needed to make it right. I returned to the dealership to have the light reset, and when I voice my displeasure, the service manager offered to change the oil again to make it right. I was grateful for the offer and accepted, shaking his hand. After the service and my vehicle was returned with his personal word everything was right and taken care of, I pulled out of the shop area. Something told me to check the vehicle before I left the lot. I parked and crawled under the truck only to discover the oil pan bolt and filter had not been touched. Not only was it not oily or wiped clean, it was covered with sandy road grime just like the rest of the bottom of the truck! No wrench marks or anything on the filter either, just the same road grime as I had just returned from the coast where the sandy road dust had coated the entire bottom. The skid plate covering the oil filter that must be removed to change the filter had no hand prints in the road grime and had not been touched. I walked back onto the shop area only to be told the oil had most assuredly been changed because it looked new on the dipstick. It only had about 1000 miles on it and it's a new truck! I would hope it would still look new. I have been a certified mechanic for 20 years of my life and I not a dummy. It hurts when people treat you like you are a dummy and deny that they flat lied to me. After leaving I looked at the work order and it plainly says 25000 mile service No Oil Change, and the was no parts charged for the filter. I am flabbergasted that any dealership of this size would be so unethical and deceptive. BEWARE! read more

Landon told that me the battery was bad and wouldn't take a charge, then he said it was the alternator, then he said it wasn't the alternator, then he said it was a bolt, then he said it was a cord. so then they wouldn't let me take my car unless I paid for a new battery because they kept saying mine was done for mind you I haven't had this car for even a year and just had it replaced because it is slightly used. I had a feeling they were lying so I took it where I bought the battery originally and guess what, it charges just fine! when calling to confront them they refused to help and blamed me. Landon also said "think what you wanna think" tgen he hung up on me when I told him I have proof the battery was not "done for" at all. 3rd strike While the friendly folks at MJHT go out of their way to make your visit comfortable, this last visit was my last visit. Our first experience ended up with well over 5 hours for a tire change and car wash. Our next visit was to purchase a 3rd car. The salesman kept pushing used cars, snuck in an almost $1000 charge and disguised it as a discount, and told me they didn't know what my interest would be after handing me a ridiculous payment plan. (FYI I have perfect credit and I know what my rate should have been because I checked before going!) So we went to lunch and then went to Subaru. For our final visit, we called due to a check engine WARNING light. Not a service light. We were told that we just needed an oil change. The next day the light came on again and I had to go to Toyota of Gastonia and have a $600 repair on a hose because they were cognizant enough to realize that our warning light meant we needed a diagnostic. We could have had some serious damage if TG hadn't caught it. So...A+ for friendliness but my car is a huge investment and I need to trust who I take it to and buy from. read more

However, when I counter offered their initial price quote, they said they rarely negotiate Tacoma prices and that I was wasting their time. After I left, they called back within an hour and said they would accept my offer plus taxes and tag fees. They straight up lied to my face. We went there for a new car we looked at a 2024 Camry. we decided to buy it, after we looked at it we decided to buy it, we didn't notice, but they brought to our attention that the chrome trim around the windows had some hail damage. they assured us that it was claimed on their insurance and that the parts were on order, and they would contact us as soon as the parts came in for it to be replaced. After a week or so i called to check on the status of the parts and was told the parts were not ordered and i needed to bring the car in for an assessment. I brought the car in and the service dept told me the parts would be there the next day. so another trip to the dealer. When we bought it we were waiting for an insurance payment, we left a deposit and there was a few days in between the deposit and us picking it up. they could have had the replacement done before we picked it up based on how long it took the service dept to get the parts. could have saved me 3 trips to the dealership. if you want to buy a Toyota I recommend going to Flow Toyota in Statesville, they were great for our first Camry. (we lost it in an Accident) the only reason we didn't go back was because they didn't have what we wanted. Should have bought the 2025 Hybrid from them. read more

I came there because my car wouldn't start , prior I had no lights on my dash and the car was not running any different then usual I literally parked my car and next day came out it wouldn't start! I get it towed to hickory from grainte falls .... The advisor calls me back and says "are you ready" So we found out your engine is BLOWN and U NEED A NEW ONE or u can get a used one .... After asking how did you come up with that , the advisor states well we can't get it to turn over to put it on the machine which raised my question to well how do you assume a blown engine . She then states we had to do a Manuel compression and there is no airway so which means it's blown I advise the advisor ma'am it's now been sitting 24 hrs how do you expect anything to have any pressure if you can't even turn it over , I go get 2 more people to look at my car paying at least $100 per time spending 300 on quotes the other 2 car shops advise me that it was just the BATTERY ! 2 different shops 2 totally different areas , and all I stated when I got there is" all I know is it will not start" Toyota of hickory wanted me to really believe I woke up and my engine was blown (I would have took that but I keep up with my car you can tell by the looks I keep up with the car) (well maintenance , routine maintenance) I will never bring business back to Toyota in hickory and I was big on bring my cars to the dealership . Maintenance Required light was flashing this weekend, so scheduled a service appointment. Took my 2015 Toyota Camry in this morning. An hour or so later, the Service Rep came and gave me the "bad news". He said all brakes needed replacing, the fuel injection system needed replacing and it needed a new battery. The car has less than 48K miles. My car savvy friend said I'd been taken advantage of, since I don't drive this car every day. It started fine this morning, so the battery should've been OK. Point is, it came to $1000+, which is a hardship with me being out of work. Not sure I'll take my car back to them. M.J. Collision took better care of me. So sad not to feel I can give more stars for the service. I rather feel taken advantage of. I now get why ratings are so low. read more

Be very leary with this dealership's service department. When doing any kind of service they are likely to add in charges that you didn't expect and the "shop supplies" cost can be very unreasonable. Also they seem to have a big issue with getting alignments right- I've had to make return trips on more than one occasion because an alignment was not done right and then I'm given to the "more experienced" person- why wasn't he on the job in the first place? In addition they don't seem to quite be able to read the recommended dealer tire pressure- always putting way too much air in the tires, no matter the season. read more
