Cosmo Motors has pretty good sales service. The guys are nice, not pushy, and were very attentive. We ordered a vehicle over the phone and then came and picked it up. The car we bought was spotless and detailed very nicely. The showroom and parking lot is clean and inviting. Lots of really nice cars in there. The day we visited they had the grand opening of the diecast store inside. That place is cool. Many, many great diecast vehicles and other machines. It's a neat tie-in that is logical for the car dealer. Why not five stars? Because though we were assured that the car had been looked at closely and driven on the highway, we noticed a sound while driving it home. That didn't show up during the round the block test drive. Perhaps if that test drive had turned left we would have noticed. There was a small issue with some of the fender liner on the front passenger wheel-well that would only touch the tire when high-speed air forced it back onto the tire or during a heavy left turn. I've fixed the issue, and I'm grateful that it wasn't major because I had already bought the car as-is. It's a reminder that we need to be hyper-detailed when looking at/driving cars, either in-person or remotely. read more

Very poor response from one of the sales people in regards to a phone conversation regarding an offer made on a Gladiator. I had a phone conversation and requested some more info. The sales person was helpful at that point. I requested an inspection and the salesperson suggested we come up with an agreed price first. I was ok with this. We talked over the phone and I offered 32500 for a vehicle listed at 33500 which is more than fair. The sales person said "why that amount" or something to that effect and I responded and said "because thats what I want to pay right now". He said "well I'm sure you'd want to pay 20k" and laughed. Then he claimed I owed sales tax even though I told him I live in a tax free state. We went back and forth over text and I told this person it was rude. I asked for the manager. He called me and tried to make it right. He was overall very nice but something stuck out to me. I asked for a best price and he sent me the exact price on the site with a dealer fee. No discount whatsoever and backed it up with the work they did to the truck prior to the sale and the fact that they are a "non negotiable dealership". Thats very strange to me. They arent Carmax nor do they have have it listed on their site about this. I still wanted the truck but this whole experience sat with me and im not spending a dime of my money towards a dealership who employs rude people as the manager said "hes young and hes said things before" and doesnt want to budge at all on their price after a fair offer was made. I recently purchased a vehicle from Cosmo Motors and traded in my Porsche 911. The on site experience was good, didn't take long and the reps were friendly. Had it not been for the rest of this review, I would have given them 5 stars. My frustrations began a month after the transaction when I was charged for both my new vehicle as well as the one I sold a month prior. I called CM about it and they said that their third party processor didn't receive the paperwork. Ok...regardless of the reasons, I was out over $800 that I had to wait to get back once the issue was resolved. According to my bank, I was still the owner and financially responsible for the vehicle I no longer had in my possession. I had to keep calling back to get updates on the issue as I was not contacted when I was told I would be. By month two, the payment for the sold vehicle was due again. My bank still showed it had not been paid off. I finally spoke to the GM there who helped expedite the paperwork and I didn't have to make a second payment on the old car. But overall, I had two frustrating months trying to figure out how to get my old car paid off and my money back. When the paperwork finally got resolved, it was weeks after the sale so the payoff changed but I was still stuck paying the interest because the bank held me responsible, which I don't think is fair. The car was no longer in my possession so I shouldn't have had to keep paying anything on it. I'm out over $200 because of their paperwork mixup. I liked the guys who work there but I am giving an honest review based on my experience. I won't tell anyone to not buy from them, but be cautious and maybe do a follow-up a couple weeks later to verify that their paperwork got processed. read more

Let me start by saying, I love the car... buuut, the after care of this dealership is VERY VERY poor, so take your chances - I wouldn't again. Bought a 2013 Dodge Viper, drove 9 hours to get it, the day before going down the salesman told me the "tires rub a little" - mmm thought I but Ok - I'll take a look. Getting there I looked over the car (and tires) all looked OK - took the car for a 1/2 mile test drive, rode Ok no rubbing so I bought the car. Still told that "these tires are special race tires and they bulge more than the originals so they may rub a little" ok drove the car home - 9 hours of every bridge and undulation the rubbing was painful. Got home and looked to see if I could tell where the rubbing came from - well - the rear tires are cut to shreds on the outside of the tread (cut to shreds) - I check the sizes the tires on the rear are undersize (345 and not standard 355) but the tires on the front are 305 and not the standard 295... anyway, this isn't going to get through inspection so I reach out to Cosmo and they tell me "They are the tires you need to drive the car" I explain that they may be stickier tires but they are now in an unsafe condition - their response "you can't put stock tires on a car like this it won't drive properly" I try again to explain that the tires are cut - the response "well if you don't like the car we will just take it back" - OK so I'll take the return and get my trade in back - I think they were surprised when I said that because the response is - "well we can't it's already been processed, but we will buy the car off you" yeah right at a nice depreciation for a weekend drive.... Bottom line all I was asking was Cosmo to "help" with the cost of new tires ($1700 out of my pocket when I just dropped $110,000 on the car) - if they had offered to even meet me halfway that would have been a gesture and changed the tone of this review - but it seems every little cent matters to Cosmo. Last note - the Carfax indicated that they did a "service" on the car before selling it - seems a Cosmo service does not include an Oil Change - again - skimping on basics on a $110,000 car is very "cheap". Buyers beware - basically nice cars but ZERO, Nada, Nothing, Nil customer support after the fact - you bought it - shame on you..... read more

After I unsubscribed to the 4th email in less than 10hrs on the weekend I received a text with the same information. I told them I was no longer interested in the vehicle. I was then told my offer was a low ball offer anyway and they didn't want my business. I'm not sure how a bid on an auction with many days left is a low ball offer but to each their own. In summary, if you simply bid on a vehicle on their Ebay site, expect non stop emails, calls, and texts. I would recommend going elsewhere. The sales experience was exceptional, it's the actual care and attention to detail afterwards is where they fall severely short. Before purchasing I expressed concerns about the tread on the tires and was assured (shame on me) that everything was fine as they are low-profile tires. Well, we're 7 weeks in and now I have to replace the other two tires; that's all 4 tires in less than 2 months. Also, they sent the license plates to the incorrect address as well. Step Away from the Vehicle!!! Do yourself a favor and do not take the chance with Cosmo, take your money to a more reputable business that will stand behind their product. These guys epitomize the sleazy used car salesmen. Read on for details on my specific experience. First, they illegally sold me a car that would not pass inspection in NC. The car did not have mufflers or a resonator but yet they gave it a passed inspection. When my personal mechanic notified me of the issue, Cosmo's General Manager first accused me off modifying the car. Then when I proved I hadn't, offered me $60 for a muffler, obviously not nearly enough to properly correct the issue. Second, and bigger issue, I had to replace the engine in the car a month after purchase. The car burned through 3 quarts of oil in the 400 miles and my mechanic was quickly able to identify an issue with one of the cylinders. The General Manager's first response was to call out my mechanic as incompetent. Then was on Google looking up my issues while on the phone and trying to offer answers. His only offer was to repair the car for the best possible price but did not even offer to cover towing back to their location. Cosmo's did not do their due diligence when they took the car in trade and and the General Manager told me "it's your car now, you have to deal with it." I have bought around 20 cars over my driving career, this is hands down my worst experience. read more

I've been doing business with Cosmo Motors since 2005! I bought a almost new Toyota Avalon with 5000 miles and it is still being driven today with over 250,000 plus miles on it. All service done at Cosmo's. Since 2005, I've bought multiple used vehicles that Cosmo himself picked for me. A 2004 Toyota Sequoia, 2004 BMW X5, 2007 Chevy Tahoe, 2001 BMW M5, 2009 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and most recently a 2020 Jeep Gladiator! This dealership can do anything you want to customize your vehicle. The service team has done regular maintenance and normal wear and tear repairs for my vehicles, after all I purchased many high end vehicles that were older but the price fit my budget and the vehicles were amazing. This dealership is top notch. The sales team, finance manager Chance, Winston in service and Cosmo himself are fantastic to deal with! After several months of looking I finally found the car I had been searching for at Cosmo. It had not even come out of prep yet. They were even asking over the original MSRP for an 8 year old car. I called about the car and in order to "hold" the car they made me put a $1000 non-refundable deposit down. This car was misrepresented in the ad saying it was basically pristine. When I got there I soon realized the car was rusted out all over. Obviously at this point I'm not interested and realize they have completely misrepresented the car in the ad. In order to get my deposit back I had to threaten them with a misrepresentation law suit. They finally agreed to giving my money back which took a week. I had to drive an hour there and an hour back only to be totally disappointed. The sales rep and the manager tried to use strong-arm tactics to get me to buy the car saying I wouldn't get my $1000 back. I would NEVER do business with these people! If I could give them less than 1 star I would....a -5 star would be most appropriate. I am a former Marine, with a strong demeanor. Very disappointed! I have a 2108 Maserati Ghibli that I obtained new in February 2018 from the authorized Maserati dealership in Raleigh. I put only 1300 miles on since then and feel that it is not worth keeping for such little use. Someone recommended I go to Cosmo Motors to see what it is worth in the current market and if they would possibly purchase it. I drove there on February 19, 2018. I was greeted by a young (late 20's maybe) agent. He never smiled or introduced himself. He did not invite me into the showroom and when I told him my purpose for the visit I was treated like a persona non grata. The agent told me the manager would not look at my car unless I was willing to sell it that day! I said I might, but would have to accept his price. The agent went inside (again did not invite me in) and appeared in short order informing me that they were not buying cars. The manager never had the courtesy to speak with me himself. How can you be in sales and treat the public that way, especially when you know that someone who drives a new Maserati can afford a high-end car? Go elsewhere! read more

Bought a truck in January. Had an excellent experience purchasing the truck. Everyone was very friendly. During the test drive the check engine light came on. They scanned it and told us there were no pending codes so they cleared the light. They told us the light probably came on because their detailer had washed under the hood that same day. Over the next week, the check engine light came back on. My husband scanned it at work and it populated with a pending code. He called the dealership and spoke with our salesman. He informed our salesman of the pending code. The salesman told my husband to monitor it and call back. Since that time the truck has broken down multiple times and displayed warnings of low fuel pressure and reduced power. My husband has made multiple attempts to call the dealership, leaving messages with both our salesman and the finance manager. We have now replaced the fuel filters twice, the low pressure fuel pump, and the fuel pressure regulator. As of today, it has broken down again, having to be towed to a diesel mechanic. I would never recommend this business. And after reading several other reviews, I fully believe they were aware of problems with this truck and covered them up to make a sale. I wish that I had read the reviews prior to making this purchase. If I had, then we would have definitely thought twice about that check engine light popping on during the test drive. Unfortunately, I think they are friendly and kind so that you won't think twice....even playing Christian music on their radio in the showroom. Did I mention that they make a big point during signing that you are purchasing the vehicle "as is." They even have you sign a separate piece of paper stating such while the finance manager explains that "if you pull off the lot and the truck breaks in two, you better call two tow trucks to pick up each half." Looking back, I'd say they have sold plenty of lemons. Why else would these good, friendly people need to have a separate sheet of paper stating the vehicle is sold "as is" and make such a point with a detailed example? Cosmo's detail shop made me love my car again! Devan is very knowledgable and passionate about his work and knew exactly what my 2008 M5 needed to bring it back to life. My leather is clean and conditioned, and I actually can see the metallic paint shining through the exterior again after years of weathering and thousands of miles. My headlight lens look nicer than they ever have... in fact, the entire car looks brand new. Very reasonably priced and the best detail I've ever had. Many years later a real review of Cosmo Motors. My girlfriends timing belt snapped on her Acura and it was an interference engine. She needed a new car. She wanted a black G35 coupe and happened to find one there. I go with her and work out a deal on a Saturday evening, banks are closed. She goes back Monday morning and the price is higher. She wants the car and $2k more over 48 months isn't a game changer, so she buys the car. The first morning the car is in the driveway it won't start. Has a bum battery Cosmo does squat, she purchases a new $175 battery from AutoZone. She's too proud to tell me any of this. I hear her pull in the driveway and the poor things brakes are squealing. I have to do a brake job new rotors/pads plus the shims that were missing all around. I check the oil, it's using a quart a week. I try to sell it and pull my own CarFax and discover that it was a repo with structural damage. The CarFax they showed us was had none of this. That and the cheap paint they did on nose chipped off, leaving a horrible mess. I cringe when I hear "Cosmo Motors". read more

Tried calling the dealership to discuss buying a vehicle and I just have to say this is one of the biggest rip-offs of any car dealership I have ever experienced "and I sell cars for a living". I have a 2013 Scion FR-S with only 17,000 miles in which they offer me $14,000 for. NADA average trade is $18,500. They then try to sell me a stock Evo for $22,997 and it books out for $19,025. My salesperson Matt tried to give me the runaround on both trade and price of their vehicle before handing me over to his completely unprofessional Manager. Buyers beware of their tactics and extremely over-priced cars. They may have some awesome vehicles available however their sales approach is completely unorthodox and rude. I wish I had listened when I was warned about the reputation of this business and the people that work here. Unfortunately, this particular car, a 2001 M5 in Alpine White, didn't afford me the option of picking another dealership. I worked with Matt and Chance and came to a price that I agreed upon based on the conditions of the vehicle represented in their description, photos, and video. They then informed me of the 599.99 doc fee that they charge. In my opinion, this fee is a straight up rip off and North Carolina should limit dealers on these charges as most states do. (This is an entirely separate argument but worth mentioning for those interested in purchasing from them) The next step was to have a PPI done on the car. I found a reputable shop and had the car looked over. They brought some issues up to me in regards to codes and normal wear and tear from a 17 year old car. I went back to the guys and was able to get them to, at a minimum, fix the high intensity washer hose that was capped off. Other than that they wouldn't budge on anything. Again at a lack of better judgment I moved forward and booked a flight to finalize the deal in just less than two weeks time. They then demanded a $2000 deposit on the car to hold it for that time period which of course was non-refundable. Again I continued with a lack of better judgement and moved forward. I finally arrive in NC with excitement and anticipation to finally own a dream car of mine. I arrived at the dealership and the excitement I previously had turned to dread. The car from the outside looked as expected nothing out of the ordinary from the PPI and photos. The interior on the other hand was a complete 180 from what was represented. To say the least it was ROUGH! The two front seats showed the most neglect and were not as pictured. I was visibly upset, challenged Matt on the condition, and compared his video to the current condition of the seats. His only defense was that he didn't alter any videos or photos of the vehicle and that I didn't have to go through with the purchase. I was then stuck with the decision of walk away and lose 2k or purchase the car and try to salvage it the best I could. I hesitantly decided to move forward with it since I figured having the asset to try and salvage was better than handing them 2k of my money for nothing. I tried to enjoy what was left of the mini vacation in NC and would look into what options I had once back in NY. Upon returning home I reached out to the PPI shop to ask why they never informed me of the shape of the interior and sent a picture I took on Sunday three days after the purchase. They instantly got back to me and stated that the car didn't look like that when at their shop and we tried to figure out what could have happened. The best option to give cosmos some reasonable doubt (I didn't want to believe that this was done intentionally or with malice) was that the seats may have been dyed at some point and when detailed for delivery the chemicals used removed the dye from the seats. I reached out to Matt with my scenario, the photo, and asked him to assist me in getting this issue resolved. I was immediately met with denial that the car was in this shape and told Chance would reach out to me. I finally spoke with Chance and was told I must have tried to clean the seats and caused the damage myself. I asked him why I would try and clean a car that was just detailed after only three days of ownership and received more denials and accusations from them. I finally informed them that I would be leaving reviews and filing a lawsuit against cosmos for misrepresentation. They basically told me they didn't care and wouldn't be assisting me in any resolution. I hope this review helps at least one other individual from experiencing what I did and hope others learn from my mistakes. To start, Cosmo Motors is a fantastic dealer!! From start to finish, the car buying experience was exceptional. I purchased a used 2013 Ram 3500 and had traveled from Ohio to North Carolina to do so. Prior to my trip, my salesman, Storm, was extremely knowledgeable about the truck. He answered every question in a very timely manner. If he did not have the answer, he found it, and responded to me right away. Due to my flight schedule, I arrived to the dealership prior to it even being open for business. They had a few people there to open the doors and I was treated like family. It was not the dog and pony show you get at just about every dealership you go to these days. They care about each and every person that walks through their doors. I met several employees that conducted the inspections on the truck. They took me around the vehicle and pointed a few little things they replaced and why. I met the owner, Cosmo, and we actually took his wife's car for a test ride while the final detailing was being finished on my truck. My truck looked and drove as advertised. We doubled checked all the paperwork and then I was on my way to drive back to Ohio. Cosmo also offered me a military discount on my truck. It's really hard to find a great dealer in this day and age but Cosmo has a customer for life!! Since my purchase, I have been contacted 3 times by Storm.
