Dan is a great guy who knows what he is talking about, and his mechanics are pretty knowledgeable and kind as well. As a young woman who doesn't know much about cars, I'm always afraid of getting scammed and up-charged; with my luck some other numbnut mechanic out there would try to convince me to buy their "premium air"... I'm happy I found a place where I don't have to worry about that. If you want to patronize a knowledgeable business that practices honesty and integrity, go to La Barge's in Albany :)

In addition to some of the specifics mentioned in my previous review (see below), there have been several instances where Ankers could have just recommended the more expensive route to fix something, but chose to allow us to make an informed decision by trying alternatives or doing things incrementally so that it could be determined if a smaller fix would suffice. All this without sacrificing the integrity of the car, though. It is such a relief to know you are going to receive competent and honest work on one of the major financial investments you make: your vehicle. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Kenta Bond, the owner of this shop is a man of high integrity. He also is a master of customer service. I call him a dinosaur because, even though he is a rather young person, he provides "old time" customer service. His pricing is extremely competitive - better than many - and he truly cares about his customers. The other day he stayed late to make sure my car repair was complete. It was not a simple repair. The car needed an axle. The parts supply house was very late getting him the needed part so Mr. Bond actually got in his car and went to the supply house and picked up the part himself. That pushed the repair completion time back. However, Mr. Bond stayed about an hour past usual closing time to get the job done for me. He does high quality work and is an absolute pleasure to deal with. Please help support this small local business. He needs the support far more than the big chain repair shops in the area and his price markups are far less than theirs!

Took my car to capital tech for a leaking water pump. James did this work on his own time which…read moreinvolved changing the water pump as well as the timing chains and tensioners. About 2 weeks later the car developed an oil leak from the area of the crankshaft seal and or the timing cover as well as the front valve cover gasket, all of which he had to change. I paid James 900 dollars cash and I supplied the parts needed to do the job. Now after 2 weeks of text messages and 2 or 3 phone calls to my place of employment, James said he has not forgot about me. I have now taken the vehicle to another mechanic for the repairs. This review is not about Capital Tech itself but the mechanic. I am expecting these repairs to cost another 300 to 500 dollars on top of the almost 1600 parts and labor already spent. My wife had issues with her tires, so she went to Caruso's for an alignment and tires Only 8 months…read morelater i had to take her car to another place for new tires. Color me shocked when they showed me the Alignment report on why she had 2 rear tires going bald on the outside where even the steel belts were showing on one. Even hitting a pothole every day for 6 months couldn't have screwed up her alignment that bad. They have no idea what they are doing regarding alignment to the point they either don't even do it, or they have incompetent employees taking short cuts. I would recommend you not visit them for anything related to alignments or tires. Within 8 months you will probably have the same issue and be out another 1k+. Absolutely ridiculous to take advantage like that.
