Horrible body shop. Damaged my car (drove it into the paint booth) and tried to cover it up by spot painting it and putting a cheap clear bra over it. The Manager and others in the shop denied it when confronted, but unknown to them, my car had a video monitoring system that captured it all. Had to drive to the Corporate office to get the situation taken care of, but the manager is still working there. read more

We were unfortunately rear-ended in our 2019 Soul Red Mazda CX-5. Luckily the damage was minimal and only the rear bumper cover needed replacing. We chose Mike's Autobody because our research between Yelp and the BBB showed it to be reputable. Stephanie helped us at the San Ramon location and she was pleasant and friendly, and our vehicle went in the last week of May 2019. Unfortunately, when we got our vehicle back 5 days later, they didn't come close to paint matching the replacement bumper cover the rest of the car. The rear bumper cover color was noticeably darker than the rest of the car, and the 'candy' color that makes our factory paint 'pop' was missing, making the color look even darker and dull compared to the rest of the car, including the front plastic bumper that still retained the factory paintwork. We were very disappointed with the result, and Mike's Autobody agreed there was an issue and agreed to take it back to correct it. A week later it went back in for correction, but a week later, the color was even darker and still didn't have the 'candy' color that the rest of the car had. The person who painted the car told us that they were at a loss, and Mike's Autobody stated that they would consult the paint manufacturer. Mike's ended up with a 3rd attempt to correct the paint problem, but there wasn't any improvement from their second attempt. At that point, they threw up their hands and politely but firmly advised there wasn't anything else they could do. Mike's Autobody had our vehicle in their shop for a total of 3 weeks. They were patient throughout the process, but we left incredibly dissatisfied with their repair efforts. Our Soul Red paint was an extra cost option that incorporated a multi-stage paint process from the factory. I'm not an automotive paint expert, and we mistakenly thought that Mike's Autobody's long standing time in business and good overall reviews provided the expertise needed to fix our vehicle correctly. Unfortunately, our experience has proven that Mike's Autobody lacks experience with more complex OEM paint processes. Although they did make 3 attempt to correct their paint error, they only made the situation worse. read more

I want to give 2.5 stars but it's either full up or down. It wouldn't be this low generally but 3 things bothered me: I didn't give authorization to Rick on the repairs and he did the work anyways. TWICE Rick said he would call me the next day with update and he never did. 5 of my n95 masks and sanitizers were stolen out of my trunk emergency bag. I would've taken that out prior to the repairs but since it was my trunk that was broken & needs repairs I could not do so. This rating is only this high because the Ladies at front desk staff was super nice. There's always someone that answers the phone when I call. And the manager, or whomever the guy was that assisted me at the end was super nice about the whole thing. read more

I made an appointment to bring my truck in on 12/14/21. I was told by the estimator, Dave, that due to the minor damage, it would take 24-48 hours to repair unless there was unforeseen damage. I told "Dave" that because my vehicle is a 4x4, I would need it back ASAP for work purposes. I brought my vehicle in on the morning of 12/14. I attempted to call the business on 12/15 but was informed via answering machine the business was closed. I called back on 12/16 and was told the business was closed at noon on 12/16 for a company Christmas party. Furthermore, despite my appointment on 12/14, I was told my vehicle had not even been disassembled/started yet! My vehicle was finally disassembled on 12/16 and I was informed they needed to order additional parts. On 12/17 I was informed the parts had to be shipped and would not be ready until Monday, 12/20. I was also told, by Manager Josh Pachan that my vehicle would not be done until 12/21! As an aside, I waited over 30 minutes on hold to speak with the manager. I am astounded that Mike's Auto Body requires an appointment and then doesn't even touch a vehicle for TWO DAYS! To add insult to injury, they take a half day off when there are vehicles awaiting repair! Had I known any of this, I would have gone to a different, competent body shop. In the meantime, I am losing over $1200.00 in business because of their incompetency. Do yourself a favor and find ANYONE but Mike's Auto Body (San Ramon) to perform your work. ****Additional info*** I called the regional manager, Tony Castaneda. Tony was sympathetic to my situation and the failure of the San Ramon shop. Tony got the ball rolling and pushed things through. As a result, I was able to pick my vehicle up on 12/17 at closing time. I truly appreciate Tony's professionalism and motivation towards excellent customer service. He represented the company well and Mike's Auto Body should be proud to have such a professional. read more

Dropped the car off to get a sensor fixed as well as two bumpers. They ended up scratching the hood and it took over 2.5 weeks. Arrived to pick up the car and it needs more work now that they caused. Go to the Concord location, much better employees. Chris is the worst at this location: enjoy having to hunt him down to get an update on your car. They will tell you they will send the car out to get work done before the body work, which they won't. You'll then get the pleasure of waiting after the body work to get mechanical work. Then they'll screw something else up so you can have the joy of coming back. Go somewhere else, do yourself a favor. They won't even offer an apology. Appalled at the inefficiency. Update to their response: I have been in since this has happened. You guys finally fixed your screw up. Let's be honest though not a single person at the store level ever apologized for the damage done to my fiancé's vehicle. I'm glad that you apologize when someone finally publically shames you. I had to call a GM to even get a response from the store workers (thanks Chris for never calling anyone back, you're the best you really are). The manager of the San Ramon store was going to personally handle this, well you can see how much good that did. He was going to meet me there, and was nowhere to be found. Neither was the store manager, they'll tell you anything you want to hear to try and save their own egos. You guys aren't just bad at your jobs, you are dishonest. Having to wait that amount of time so I can come in and you guys can act like you are doing me a favor repairing a car that you damaged was just the icing on the cake. You called me to pick up a damaged car, pictures uploaded before -- please someone explain how they missed this damage. Your employees asking me to give you guys a good review and to think of you next time I have auto body damage might have been the biggest joke though. Any potential customers just go somewhere else these guys won't even admit they messed up. They'll leave your car sitting for a week and a half anyways. You guys just quite literally suck. read more

I'm cautiously optimistic - received an update and there may have been a miscommunication and the vehicle may have already been stripped down and work has begun. Will update when complete and address quality of work, too. The other item I should mention that I had previously forgotten is they do offer a shuttle service, big positive if you need to get home or to a rental car agency. Rating based on scheduling. Had an appointment for Thursday, dropped off first thing in the morning on the day of said appointment. It's now Monday after the close of business and the company has still not yet provided an estimate as to how long the car will be in the shop. Why schedule appointments if cars sit for days on end without being seen? I'm convinced the shop is owned by a rental car company and is incentivized to keep cars in the shop longer than needed. read more

A huge rental RV decided we could "Share" a left turn lane and it ended up doing a lot of damage to my passenger side and front bumper. I wasn't sure where to take the car so I did some research and our go-to engine repair company recommended Mike's. There was a 3 week wait before they could start on my car but it was worth waiting. Stephanie was my contact person and she kept me informed on the status on every step of the process. She dealt with the insurance company so I didn't have to do anything other than pick up the car. I can't see any sign of damage and the car actually looks better than before the accident because her detailer buffed out some old paint overspray on the car and it looks awesome. Hopefully I won't need to go back there, but I would definitely return if needed. read more

I was referred by my farmers insurance agent in this shop. John looked at my 1997 Honda Accord fender bender and told him that I only have a TPL and not willing to spend much. Asked him that my only problem is that my second hood latch is not locking. He called one of his tech and ask to bring a tool to pull the frame a bit to help it to locked. Voila! It locked. Did not cost me a dime. I plan to come back again if any of my car will need a body repair. Very positive experience. read more

Just got my car back from Mike's Auto Body, I have to say they are amazing. After I was hit, my insurance company sent me here for an appraisal which was made seamless, and the staff was very friendly. After finding out that the other party's insurance company was taking full liability and suggested them for repair, there was no hesitation in my mind that I would have them take care of my car and they did a great job! The text updates where extremely helpful and gave me the peace of mind knowing my car was being taken care of diligently. There was a minor delay but one of their people called and assured me they were working hard to get it finished and they wanted to make sure the paint was done proper. I made an appointment with Mikes per recommendation by a friend. My Mercedes had been sideswiped by someone who came into my lane. They had me drop off a week later. I called to check on it end of week and they had not started on it so I went down there in rental car, the doors were off and it was outside with 20 other cars. A developer building houses up the street was excavating dirt. My interior was packed 2" in dirt. In and out. They hadn't touched the car all week. I don't know why I let them convince me to leave it there. 2 weeks later I got the car with second hand door and fender parts, not from Mercedes, not opening and closing right and no insulation in the door, a thumb print in the paint above the door. Awful painful experience. I made them put insulation in door so it wouldn't ping like a Prius and adjust it twice so it opened and closed right. I still have his thumb print on the trim and car will always be caked in dirt where I can't reach but I'm afraid to go back. read more

Well, Santos is gone and does not work here anymore. So, has the customer service. I have had work done here in past and Santos was amazing and always polite and prompt. Had an accident with some damage to front of my bmw . Insurance recommended this shop. Went there on Friday morning for an estimate . Brittany at front desk was nice and quickly sent message to Brian inside to come out for an estimate. When she saw me still sitting after 40 minutes, she apologized and personally went inside to go get Brian to come out and give estimate. Brian comes out, takes a look at the car and gave an estimate. I had additional questions which he said he will have to get back to me on Monday. He said that he had made a note to call me back on Monday. Come Monday, no call from Brian. Tuesday, I sent him reminder email and reminder voicemail. No response. On Wednesday I called Brittany at front desk who promised to put a note on his desk. Waited 2 more days and decided to go to B&S. They were prompt and more helpful. Just imagine, if they have no time to respond to you after repeated reminders to earn your business, what will happen if you really take your car to this shop to get it fixed and have issues/queries. read more

Extremely poor experience. Don't make the mistake of going here. They will basically take your car, and find ways to get the most out of your insurance company. If your car is worth 10k, and the insurance company won't pay to repair past 70% value of the car, their final estimate will be $6,998.99. Then, if you try to take the care somewhere else, they charge you storage/labor for the work they've done so far. Now your car is stuck there, and you have to fight with the insurance to deal with it. You may ask, who cares, it's the insurance companies money. It will be your problem when the insurance company denies your claim, or you have to go purchase a new car. Went literally 3 weeks with, zero progress on my car. It literally took 3 weeks for them to actually work things out with the insurance company and just start!!!!! They are simply not honest people. read more

My opinion and observation in brief... A very safe looking and convenient location for San Ramon and Danville residents, non-intimating environment, professional staff, a clean workshop and reasonable prices without having to haggle. My experience in June 2014... I needed the running boards and trailer hitch uninstalled from my Sienna Minivan. Since it was a simple job, I decided to check out the 4 or 5 body shops in this area. The first had no one around. At the 2nd, I waited while the guy at the reception had a long conversation on phone, after which he and another person moved on to a conversation with another customer. After waiting for literally 5 minutes without as much as an acknowledgement, I decided to move on to Mike's, which was just across the street. I am so glad I did! At Mike's, they had a professional receptionist, Michelle, who was polite, friendly and attentive. The estimator, John Kim, seemed very knowledgeable and helpful and gave me a reasonable estimate right off. After that I did not even bother to shop around. The excellent experience continued with the Tech (Bryan), who, after completing the job explained all the removed parts, packaged them properly and neatly loaded them into the van. I felt so comfortable that I went on to discuss another issue of road noise, which no other body shop (or Toyota) had been willing to address in the past. Mike took a road test, was able to identify an interesting door alignment issue, and since it was a minor fix, threw it in for free. Then on my request, they raised the van, did an under body inspection and even demonstrated to me that everything looked good. They were aware that I was willing to spend money and could have easily sold me some crap solutions, but instead advised me against it. They even humored me by plugging in some holes in the Chassis which I felt could be leaking sound :-) I was so pleased that I personally offered to write this review and feel bad that it took me almost 2 months to get to it. Finding a reliable body-shop is tricky, and I hope this helps other Yelpers. read more

I wish I could give them more than 5 stars...these guys (& gals) are AWESOME! I had a minor fender bender the DAY I had my end of lease inspection scheduled, so I was a little stressed out and under a time crunch to get my car fixed ASAP. I called a few of the places that were recommended by my insurance company and all of them said it was a least a week out before I could even go in for an estimate...eeeek. Luckily, I found Mike's Auto Body in San Ramon. They said I could come in at any time for an estimate (which only took them about 5 minutes) right away...they ordered the part...and a few days later told me to come in at any time to get my car fixed. When I took it in, they had my in and out of there in less than 30 minutes!!! Their entire staff is very sweet and are great at following up with you. My main contact was Damon...what a great guy...very polite, reassuring that they would get it done quickly, and just an all around nice person. I also appreciated that they told me they had ordered an extra part (that already came with the other part they ordered), so they deducted it from my bill. They easily could have kept it on the bill and I wouldn't have known the difference...so I truly appreciated their honesty. Hopefully I won't have any more fender benders, but if I do, I will drive straight to Mike's Auto Body, and not even bother with anyone else! read more

I am trying to get an estimate for a US vetran that was kind enough to leave his phone # on my car, he scratched down the side. He would like to see the estimate first (may pay out of pocket) I went in on 12/21 and Dave took photos, info and said the guy that handles USAA today will handle this. I've called twice now and that estimate is yet to come 12/31/2021 The vet would like one from Mike's.............what's the deal with them???? I think they are treating this vet very shabby, I've called to inquire, still no response. Do they have a "special price" for vets? They keep asking for his policy # and I keep explaining the situation. The other estimate in San Ramon was done immediatly, and I was treated with nice curtesy and asked to come inside and keep warm, offered tea. Stay away!! I went in for an estimate to fix a small dent due to damage from flying debris on the freeway. I said I would pay out of pocket to avoid the insurance hassle. Brian Burns gave me the estimate(s). I walked away with 2 estimates, confused and frustrated. How can a repair have 2 estimates?? Brian said that since I was a 'self pay' he wanted to offer me options. What!?! How much to fix and paint the dent? Anyway, the 1st estimate for $1,101 was to fix the dent and paint the car door. If I wanted the paint blended into the other door, that's an extra $439! I just want my car fixed. How do I know if the paint has to be blended into the next door?? Brian said if I was to go through insurance that they would paint the 2nd door and blend the paint BUT since I was a "self pay", he was giving me the choice. WTF?? I was confused and frustrated just trying to understand this. He also said the job may be less than $1,101 as he added in extra parts because he did not know what parts would be needed to put the molding back on after the work was done so the total could be $40 less, maybe!?! I will NOT be taking my car there needless to say if this is how the process starts. In addition, while he was with me talking about my car, his camera needed a new battery. As we walked into the office waiting room to get one, he saw a friend or a previous client and proceeded to help him and even went outside to the guy's car for approx 15 minutes while I waited & watched with displeasure. Weren't you helping me?? I was so frustrated after that experience that I felt inclined to write this review. NOT a good experience. read more

I had a small rear bumper puncture in my Prius due to a person hitting me in a parking lot. State Farm claimed that Mike's Auto Body was the preferred auto body shop. State Farm also has a satisfaction guarantee, more on that later. The bumper was removed, repaired, repainted and reinstalled. When my wife picked up the car she noticed that there were marks on the edge of the bumper that weren't there before. Also the bumper no longer was aligned with the quarter panel. There was an uneven gap. When I confronted rick about it he stated that there was glue on the bumper from a previous repair. So here's the question: why didn't he bring this to my attention when the bumper was off? If he repainted the whole bumper, why are there brand new marks that weren't there before? When I called Rick about the matter he was going to charge me $157 to fix what was supposed to be done already. And, of course State Farm doesn't stand behind there satisfaction guarantee. Now what?! I won't use this place again if they can't get a simple repair right. read more
