I took my car in for in to repair a valve cover on engine. I told them to check my AC because it was cooling but just wanted to make sure it was cooling to its potential. When I picked up my car they charged me $55 just to check it and told me that my compressor needs to be replace and it would cost me a lot. I told them I was just going to pick up the car and get a second opinion. While driving home I noticed that only hot hair was coming out of the ac vent. How is that possible when I dropped off it was cold air. Is like they did something to make it hot. I cold them and asked them if they took out the free on and they said they didn't do anything. So I paid so they can damage my AC. If there is any good reviews it was probably family or friends. They are very dishonest. Do not go here. read more

The Cadillac dealer gave me an estimate for over $2000! I went to Mike's on a referral from family. I was initially quoted an estimate of $1000 less. I would rate them higher but with a recent visit I just can't. First of all I have been taking my vehicles to Mike for many years based of a recommendation from a friend. Mike and Laura are great and they often have the best price in town. However, on my last visit in October 2023 the experience was less than usual. I brought my wife's Lancer there because it was turning over slow and I didn't want her to get stuck. So I brought the car to Mike so he could see if it was the alternator or just a battery issue. Thankfully he diagnosed it with a battery issue changed the battery and the oil and filter and I thought I would be on my way. Upon picking up the vehicle my wife did not drive a mile when I get a call from her. She said the AC did not work. I got it home and sure enough, the AC was not working. Now we dropped it off with working AC. This was after hours in a Friday so I had to wait to Monday to address the problem. Upon leave a message on Friday night and several messages on Monday, I finally got Laura on the phone Monday afternoon and she immediately denied any responsibility for the AC being broken. She said what they did would not affect the AC. She was able to get me in the next Wednesday to look at the AC. Upon looking at it, I got a call from Mike saying the Compressor is bad and he gave me an estimate of $1,100 to fix it. I was livid. It is very strange that my AC would break while in Mike's care. I believe the technician did something that broke the AC and I believe that Mike's auto knew about it because they stated that they took the car for a test drive but didn't want to take responsibility for the technician's blunder. I am very disappointed with Mike and Laura because they are better people than that. read more

Another great visit to Mike's Auto Repair. This time only for a synthetic oil change. As usual they did a great job. Their prices are compatible with the quick change oil change places in the area but they go the extra mile to make sure if your car is properly serviced. Hi friends, Today I took my car in to have it checked out for preventative maintenance. I requested they run their computer scanner and test the emmissions and fuel injection and electronic ignition for any problems after getting a bad tank of gas and having a poor running condition recently. They also test drove the car and inspected it for anything it needed. I was very happy to spend the money for an hour of diagnostic time to have a truly professional ace mechanic verify my car was road worthy. I made an appointment and it was a painless and professional experience. If a universal joint needs tightening/realigning they'll charge you the labor cost instead of the cost of replacing the UJ as having gone bad, as others have done to me. The fact that people make the trip from Pembroke Pines, Sunrise and Deerfield Beach to this unassuming, off-the-beaten track location in industrial Margate speaks to the shop's reliability and honesty. Mike will tell you when something isn't urgent, and will always recommend several options when they are available. I have brought all my cars here through the years, and have recommended Mike's to friends and family. None has ever been disappointed. I recently brought a newer car for an oil change, and Mike said the oil was so new, it didn't need it. How many mechanics would've just changed it anyway just to make a buck?
