We were looking for something fast and saw the food truck on Yelp so decided to give it a try. I love BBQ and am always nervous about trying BBQ outside of the usual great BBQ places. I live in Kansas City and we have lots of great places. I also judge BBQ contests so am a bit particular about BBQ. Overall thought this place was very good. The brisket was very good and would get that again. The ribs were not very meaty and just needed to cook a bit longer, but there was a great flavor. The beans and Mac & Cheese were very good and recommend them. If you are looking for BBQ this is as good as it gets in the area. They also had some nice outside dining. read more

The speed you get your food is incredible. It takes like 2 minutes. I was never a BBQ fan, but the food is incredibly good. They give you enough food for 2 meals for less than $20. The staff are super nice and understanding. My only real problem with this place is that you eat outside with no air conditioning. But you can always eat in your car. I would highly recommend coming here if you want food quick or if you want the best BBQ in the state. read more

DeeeeeeLicious! A must stop when you are in the Key Largo area near Mile Marker 101 (101900 Overseas Highway, Bayside at the entrance to Dolphins Plus - swim with the dolphins). We were on our way to a showing and drove by and noticed the big red truck and sign for BBQ...the smell lingered along also...and the fact that all of the tables under the shade tent were filled at 3:15 in the afternoon....so we decided that we would come back to get a late lunch before we headed home. We are so glad we did! The first thing you notice as you pull up the the Food Truck is the glorious smell of the BBQ that makes your mouth water with anticipation! It did not disappoint. The special today was 1/2 rack of ribs, 2 sides and cornbread for $14.99. A bargain in Keys prices. The servings were generous - 2 of us split one and were full! The owners served us. Service with a smile and a friendly conversation! The 1/2 rack of ribs came with 7 fall off the bone, tasty ribs. No need for sauce, however Mike (and Steve - a regular who was behind me) insisted we try the Carolina Gold. Great recommendation...spicy, sweet and just enough to add that extra flavor. The Mac & Cheese and the Coleslaw did not disappoint either! Fresh and delicious! We can't wait to go back and will definitely be telling our friends, family and customers about Mike's BBQ 101. Nestled on the bayside of US1 at MM101 is the best BBQ food truck in the Florida Keys. Their brisket sandwich is a killer, super moist and tasty with sweet bbq sauce. Don't let the fact that this is food trailer fool you, they are legit, they know how to smoke, grill. Nuff said. read more

Yes! This place is absolutely the best BBQ I have had in forever! The ribs were so tender and the homemade sauces are so flavorful. The beans are Smokey with the right amount of sweetness. And I could eat an entire meal of the Mac and Cheese if given the option. The owner is so friendly and welcoming. The parking is easy. If you are not familiar with Key Largo, it is located in front of Dolphins Plus. I did read a sign that said "open until 6 or until we run out." It was fairly busy when I stopped, rightfully so. But keep that in mind when you stop. read more

While the Keys has great seafood, Mike's is a great stop if you're in the mood for some good BBQ. We had ribs, brisket, sausage and pulled pork. All were solid. Brisket had good bark and was tender. This place is a Gem. Mike really cares about his craft and is willing to educate customers on any questions they have about BBQ - he mentioned mentorship from a Texas pitmaster - as well as experience at another well known BBQ joint. I've also never gotten a 2 meat combo at such a great price $13.99 (for the same quality NY BBQ it may cost close to double). The best part about this experience was we went towards the end of the day - and all of the food was extremely delicious and fresh still (many bbq places do not store correctly and quality deteriorates over the course of the day) The brisket was extremely tender and moist and able to hold its form - Not pre-cut. It is a must get The ribs were so easy to detach from the bone with so much flavor but again perfectly in tact - fall off the bone with a bite not fall off the bone cause you touched it (which is perfect to me) The Mac n cheese was delicious with a little special topping that the chef created (had some chips n other seasonings ) The baked beans were delicious - little bits of beef in the mix. The party I was with had a wonderfully delicious chicken (though I was unable to try) - though was able to try the pulled pork, which was melt in your mouth though thicker/not fully shredded. Best part was it was not saucy!! - sign of confidence in method. The sauces were delicious - had options of Carolina gold, "traditional" and a hot sauce I'd go back in a heartbeat - it is a must try in the Keys if you are into BBQ. I was at Mikes BBQ 10 minutes ago with my girlfriend to get some bbq to go. Once on site I could just smell the smoke and knew this was going to be great. BBQ is my favorite food and Mikes did not disappoint. I ordered a 2 meat platter. Brisket and pulled pork is ALWAYS my go to. Mike was onsite and informed me that he was low on brisket and said that he had some smoking but it would take some time. He offered to upgrade my platter to 3 meat and threw in ribs. Perfect! I got to try the trifecta of BBQ: Ribs, brisket, and pork. I could go into detail about each individually but I will spare that and simply say Mikes exceeded expectations. Sides were great. Baked beans, potato salad (the best of the ones I tried. ), and Mac and cheese were all top tier. Corn bread was incredible. All sauces were good. The Carolina mustard bbq was my favorite though.
