    Bison burger with bacon
    Natasha S.

I just had to share my experience at The Golden Buffalo! It's under new management, and let me tell you, the change is fantastic! The ambiance is really nice inside, with a few tables and two flat-screen TVs. There are several tables outside for seating, and lately the weather outside has just been lovely. I don't want to show my age, but I really enjoyed those big screens--haha! Now, about the service: it was a 10/10! Our server was so sweet and accommodating, especially towards my younger daughter. I went with my family, and I want to assure you that don't let the "sports bar" label scare you from bringing the kids! Let's dive right into the food! For appetizers, we ordered the mac and cheese bites, which were an absolute 10/10. Normally, I'm not a fan of mac and cheese balls, but I will definitely be ordering these again. They were incredibly creamy! I had to take a photo because they perfectly captured everything I dislike about dry mac and cheese balls--this was the opposite! Is this what I've been missing out on my whole life? Next up were the wings--just wow! We ordered them naked with a few side sauces and asked for them extra crispy. My fellow Keys residents, we finally have a great wing spot! Hallelujah! I'd give them 100000/10! My husband got the bison burger, which was very generous in size and packed with amazing flavor. It came with a side, and he chose corn, which I found odd at first. But it was actually really good corn on the cob, so, like a typical wife, I did steal one! His food always tastes better. I ordered the smash burger, which had great flavor. I added bacon, and it was absolutely delicious. My daughter opted for the beef quesadilla, and it was really good too. I know I sound repetitive, but honestly, I'm so impressed with all the food! That steak had such great flavor; now I want to try the steak on the menu because I think I missed out on something amazing. My younger daughter had the mac and cheese and fries. The mac and cheese was phenomenal--not your typical box mac and cheese with some extra butter and cheese! I had to show you how creamy and cheesy it was. I even had to order an extra to-go because she loved it so much and wanted more for later. I enjoyed a salad that was also very good. I wish I could tell you exactly what was in it, but every bite, especially the cranberries, made me feel like I had died and gone to heaven! It had so many components, and you could tell it was made with love. Yes, I'm actually bragging about a salad right now! Lastly, we shared a brownie with ice cream. 10/10. The brownie was warm and delicious with ice cream and drizzles of caramel and cholocalte it truly was a chef's kiss. I truly love the new changes, and my family really enjoyed the food. I highly recommend you visit if you haven't yet! While I haven't tried everything on the menu, I can confidently say that everything we did try did not disappoint. The owner was so kind; he came to check on our table, interacted with my daughter, and even told us about the new ribs being released tomorrow. They're supposed to be fall-off-the-bone tender, which means I'm not cooking tomorrow, haha!

Key Largo's new sports grill has it all! Great food, excellent service, plenty of big Screen TV's and amazing desserts! Stopped in today for a Valentine's lunch with the kids. Ordered several delicious appetizers (could barely get pictures because they dug in immediately!). The bang bang shrimp is the best we've ever had... so lightly breaded and fried that you don't feel guilty! The naked wings were enjoyed by all because we each ordered different sauces. Loved the guacamole balls! As our main meals we ordered single smash burgers with the works! The bison burger was plentiful and cooked to perfection. The shrimp tacos were excellent!!! So glad we shared a dessert! The chocolate cake a-la-mode was decadent! Didn't get a picture of the homemade coconut cake because it was gone in just a few bites! We will be back!

The Golden Buffalo- under new management, is a revamped gem in Key Largo. With indoor/outdoor seating, plenty tv's to catch your fav game, and a simple yet complete menu, this new spot is worth the stop. GB is laid back, yet homey. Games are available for the kiddos. Highly recommend the: Brazilian fried cheese, the Brazilian smash burger, and the churrasco with Mac and cheese. Do not leave without trying Mary Lee's homemade cakes! Everything we tried was a 10/10. Owners are amazing. They were both so welcoming & even invited our dog to join! Stop on by and give this place a try. You will not be disappointed.

Not sure if it's because we are a large party 10 or more, or what? Our last visit was a Sunday evening in early July . We ate outside. Waiter was good at getting water out to everyone. But when it came to drink orders we must have waited 15-20 minutes for him to take our drink orders. I had to ask him to take my appetizer order. We had to ask several times for our drinks - soft drinks- not alcoholic. They were not good at cleaning our dirty appetizer plates away after delivering dinner leaving the table crowded. I think what I found most annoying was watching our server and another server standing around while we were waiting for drinks, for order taking, for refills, etc. There was just no attention being paid to us. Maybe the guy was new? Not sure. The restaurant wasn't very busy so that wasn't the excuse. I've heard it's difficult to get good help in the Keys. Cost a lot to live here. Most commute from Homestead. Anyway- good for the food - don't expect great service. Ironically I did over tip. I was a server in college so I try to be generous.

We were seated immediately, and there was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating overlooking a beautiful channel with boats constantly coming and going. I ordered the mahi mahi sandwich with sweet potato fries, served on a coconut bun, and it was quite possibly one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. Everything came out hot, fresh, and surprisingly fast. You could tell the food was made to order. The staff was genuinely friendly and never made us feel rushed, which made it easy to sit back and enjoy the view. The outdoor seating was fantastic and added so much to the experience. The restaurant is a little tucked away and can be easy to miss, but don't let that stop you--it is absolutely worth finding. We spent about $54 for two people, and considering the quality of the food, generous portions, service, and atmosphere, it was worth every penny. We had a disappointing lunch here…read more We were in the keys specifically to enjoy Florida lobster season which started last week. As we were getting ready to head home, I had read in their ad in the local newspaper that they featured fresh Florida lobster. So I delayed our departure a couple hours just to make sure we stopped here for lunch. The restaurant has an outside bar and patio dining plus inside a/c dining. We chose to sit in the inside. I'd asked the server what Florida lobster dishes they offered and the prices. She said they had two -- lobster bites and a lobster tail. I order the tail with sweet potato fries as my side. When the meal came, I saw that what was delivered was NOT fresh Florida lobster. The manager (?) told me they hadn't pulled the traps yet and didn't have any Florida lobster -- which was strange as it was almost a week into the season and their two ads touted it. Anyhow, he suggested the snapper instead and I chose the coconut yellowtail sandwich from their specials. This was barely edible -- over fried, over cooked, and dried out. I took only a couple bites and coins t even eat the rest. Meanwhile, my husband had ordered the cracked conch appetizer. We've had this all over Florida (he's a native) and in the Carribean. This version was quite different. It had large square pieces of conch in a heavy fried batter. I would not recommend this dish, either.
