I'll start this by saying I hate the car buying process, but this experience changed my mind. I had been searching for months for a clean, pre owned, well maintained suburban for my family. I traveled to alot of dealerships locally to just find mistreated vehicles that looked good on pictures, but upon arrival I continuously found over detailed, frame spray painted to hide rust, and enough air freshener for 10 vehicles. Not to mention most were tossed around auction cars that set for long periods of time. I have been following Mike on youtube because he's local, so i went to his page to browse the inventory. Coincidentally he had just what I was looking for 20 minutes up the road, a impressive 1 owner well maintained suburban according to carfax. The following day I stopped in to check out the suburban. While I was looking at it briefly a gentleman by the name of Grant walked up and extended his hand. Spoke a bit and he let me know mike was out and he would be able to help me if I needed. Long story short the suburban was exactly what I was looking to buy. Clean, no rust, well maintained. No gallons of tire shine and armor all, no paint in the wheel tubs. A truly honest vehicle. Great price as well thousands less than I was looking at in our area. I explained to grant I was a very busy person and couldn't stay at the dealership very long. Essentially this was done fully remote. A handful of phone calls and emails, and the next day I arrived to sign documents and was finished in 15 minutes. My wife picked the vehicle up while i was at work and kept saying how nice Grant and the mechanic was to her. Although at first I was disappointed to not see the "chevy dude" walk out, I'm glad to have met and done business with Grant. Wonderful buying experience, great people, no hiccups or delay. Most of all, I was never pushed or prodded to buy this car, or anything else. I know this review is a bit long winded, but this experience was a breath of fresh air in what usually turns into the most dreaded experience. My wife and I had been on the lookout for a nice, clean SUV with third row seating for a while. I began following Mike's Car Store on Facebook after I learned that they donate a car to someone in need for every 100 cars sold. I knew that theirs was the dealership I wanted to buy from, so I started to keep an eye on their inventory. Then, as the wife and I are getting ready to go on vacation, this immaculate 2015 Chevy Traverse drops into Mike's inventory. We decided to swing by on our way out of town and take a look. Grant came out with the keys and waited patiently as I did my thing; walking around the car, starting it up, checking all of the systems. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and able to answer any questions I had about the vehicle. He didn't even mind when I put it through its paces during the test drive. We weren't wanting to have to finance, but used car prices have gotten crazy these days. Especially with the markups, hidden fees, and addition items that other dealerships try to sell you. Not at Mike's Car Store. Grant was up front with the pricing, there were no hidden fees, and he didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need. We ended up paying about $500 less than I had originally calculated, and we didn't have to finance. But the icing on the cake, since the wife and I were already heading out of town, they let us keep the Traverse at their dealership until we returned. During that time, they completed an extremely thorough inspection of the Traverse and also changed the oil and oil filter, the air filters, and filled the gas tank. Seriously??? Best 1st Car Buying Experience!!! My wife and I were scared of the hassle of buying our first car, and were trying to find a dealership that wouldn't try to take all our money. Mike's Car Store was exactly what we needed, as they constantly made us feel like we were in good hands! The out-the-door price was readily accessible, and they never add any extra "packages," "deals," or other scams you find at most/all other dealers. The full cost of my used vehicle only included the price listed on their website, a small doc fee (~$200), and state taxes! All of the staff at Mike's Car Store were easy to work with and genuinely nice people! Specifically, Korey Gould was a pleasure and made the whole experience worth the 40-minute drive up from East Louisville. He is super knowledgeable and never pressured us in any way to buy the vehicle, only wanting us to be happy with whatever decision we made. Day or night, he was able to answer texts of concerns and questions I had before and after buying the vehicle! The car-buying experience at Mike's Car Store is one I wish other dealers would soon adopt; however, most dealers only see their customers as dollar signs. The staff at Mike's Car Store, on the other hand, takes care of their people by treating them with respect, kindness, and dignity, ultimately exemplifying the Golden Rule by putting themselves in the shoes of their customers. First of all, I don't like car dealers. Especially the big ones. They've all got their routines where they put you with the newest salesman on the lot, and then pass you off to a couple managers before you can get away. It takes a long time. Also, I don't really buy new cars, as they are getting more and more expensive as well as going down in quality. The nanny options on new cars drive me nuts. Anyway, what took me in is the line that says "Buying a car doesn't have to suck!" Well, we'll see about that, I said to myself. Well, it is common knowledge that buying a car is indeed a very unpleasant experience. It's not exactly my first rodeo, as I've been buying cars for over 40 years. Mike has worked for one of the bigger dealers, and is very well aware of their tactics. He has made it his mission to operate exactly opposite of their ways, and provide great service that doesn't make you feel like you've been beat up when you leave the lot. Anyway, long story short, this is one of the best buying experiences I've had. Grant and Mike, were very very nice, and the car is almost in perfect condition. It's eight years old and has over 100 K on it, but it is totally worth it. They Made sure it looked like it was new, and even sent me away with a freshly washed clean car and full tank of gas, with all new fluids and filters. The only reason I'm giving Mike's Car Store a five star rating is because there is not a six or seven. I'm an old retired railroader and have purchased several cars/trucks in my time, but have never had a better car dealer experience than this one!! Mike & Grant made the trade in & purchase process completely hassle free. They are very easy going, no pressure, no B-S, transparent, and conduct business in a professional manner. My wife read the slogan "Buying a Car Doesn't Have to Suck" when we pulled in and said to me "I sure hope they live up to that". Well, they sure did. We were right about an hour from start to finish. They allowed us top dollar for our trade, took care of all the paper work, filled the GMC Sierra 1500 with gas, and even left us a surprise taped to the inside of the fuel filler door (Thanks Grant).
