I came here on a Sunday afternoon during lunch time and was a little concerned because there was only one other table other than our own and it was peak lunch hour. The bartender was acting as both bartender and server, and was very attentive to us the whole visit. We got the tacos as an appetizer (a chicken and a steak) we preferred the steaks flavor over the chicken! I got the sloppy Joe and fries and my boyfriend got their Philly with fries. All the food was pretty good, but the fries were outstanding! Update- he went back and they remade my burger. They said they had 2 orders one for rare and got them mixed up. My burger was good. My husband picked up a carry out order of a hamburger with bacon added with fries for me. I added ketchup and cut the burger in half and it was completely raw. I eat burgers well done so this was downright gross. I tried to heat the burger patty in the microwave so I could eat it but there was raw hamburger meat on the lettuce and the bun. I tried calling and their phone is not working... my husband said he will run back up there after he runs his errand and see if they will make me a new burger. I will update the review if they do. Great service from staff and owner. Loved the atmosphere and decor. We came for a cocktail and we were able to have great conversation without being drowned out by the music. Side note: loved the hot guys pics in the women's bathroom. Bring on Brad Pitt in Fight Club. With that being said...you might need to poor some water down the drains. Cutest place. Smaller with a laid back vibe. They offer bingo and trivia nights and a ton of awesome specials- including $10 burger Wednesdays- the day I got to try Mike's! Awesome burgers, great prices and portions + full bar. They have a great app menu as well. We had the Buffalo chicken toasted ravioli- love the creativeness of this place. What a great little local bar & grill! The food is really good - I usually get the black and bleu burger which is a well seasoned patty topped with bleu cheese and crispy onions, pretty good stuff, right? But then I saw the old school sloppy joe and my grade school self popped her head out to play. I had to try it. I'm not sure what I used to eat but this sandwich is worth coming back for more! It was a slightly sweet, kinda tangy but not spicy, sauce with ground beef topped with melty American cheese and pickles. Messy but delicious! Fries and chips are homemade, for some reason I prefer the chips? I don't know but the seasoning is really good so maybe that's it? Or the texture contrast with the sandwich? Avoid this place. Staff ignores you. No greeting or friendly attitudes. Place is overcrowded with chairs making it uncomfortable and difficult to even move around. Bathrooms are small so locked most of the time. Not even a good dive bar. Just trash. They need to make the atmosphere warmer, more inviting, and above all train their staff to be friendly and welcoming. Won't be back. read more

We started coming here when they first opened and really enjoyed the food and service. Over many visits we found lots of great things on the menu. One time they had a Monte Cristo that was very good. Unfortunately we had a couple of visits that the experience wasn't what we were used to getting. The state changed the highway K and N interchange and that had made the drive getting here less than enjoyable. We were in the area though and thought we should go again. This visit was much better than the last time. My wife had the steak with blue cheese butter and I had a bacon burger with a fried egg on it. We traded our potato sides as my wife liked the fries and I liked her fried potatoes. We are glad we went back, and will make sure to visit again, sooner, than later read more

Local spot off Hiway K and it's a clean comfortable place to stop in for a drink or some delicious food. This is a family friendly establishment until later in the evening and the have a few video games, daily happy hour specials, weekly trivia nights,lots of beer on tap and many tv so you won't miss a Blues or Cardinals game. Kristen was our server and she was Fantastic!! so informative, friendly and attentive in helping us with a few different food choices. Both husband and I chose the Bacon cheddar burger and added fried onions to it which gave it an almost French onion soup flavor and it was one of the best burger I have had in a long time. I've lived near this place for a long time and never found my way in. I reached out to a friend about a decent burger place and he suggested I try it out. I ordered a meatloaf burger with tots. The burger was delicious and the portions were a great value for the relatively low cost. My wife got a bacon cheeseburger and the sweet potato fries and holy smokes. The bacon is thick cut and delicious. The burger was on point and the sweet potato fries were perfectly cooked. Light crisp, not mushy, great flavor. Only negative was beers were about $7-8 on average but honestly, that's pretty standard at many places these days. I don't like disliking a place without actually trying the food but my partner and I are disappointed in the customer service. We walked in ready to try their food but were promptly told they were closed. At 6pm on a Thursday. We've tried to give this place a chance a few times over the last couple of months. Each time we went the bartender was friendly but would spend way too much time talking to the regulars so our drinks would sit empty. The second time we went, we played Keno - again, bartender wasn't attentive so we missed a few games. When she did run our tickets, she ran one of them twice and didn't run the other at all. We had to get the attention of the other bartender to fix her mistake. This last time we went, we knew something was off. It was Saturday, July 13th - we showed up at 2:00 in the afternoon and the door was locked. The lights, TVs and music were on inside. We tried calling, no answer. We checked the facebook page and someone else had made the comment that they went and the door was locked as well (mysteriously this comment disappeared later that afternoon). We tried calling a few more times and no one answered. We moved on to another restaurant. We tried calling for another half hour and finally the bartender answered. We explained the situation and she sounded like she didn't know what was going on, couldn't understand why the doors were locked? I also explained that I had been calling for 45 minutes with no answer and she had no explanation. We decided to come back to Mike's after the bartender assured us that they weren't closed! We got there around 3:30 and the bartender acted as though she didn't know what was going on or why the doors were locked. There was a sandwich board type sign out front that said they close at 5:00 for a private event. We questioned her as to if they were in fact closing at 5:00 and again she acted like she didn't have a clue what was going on. We sat at the bar and ordered a couple drinks, which we received, but like always, as soon as regulars showed up, she stared talking and didn't check on us. When she finally did, we ordered some wings. We watched her put the order into the computer and she even asked which sauce we wanted. About 10 minutes later she asked us if we wanted to put in an order for any food. (??) Um, what? we just put in an order with you. We waited for over an hour and never received our wings. The bartender went to the back a couple of times to get food for other customers, but never brought ours out. We decided it was time to leave. We asked for our bill and the wings were listed on our bill. We pointed out that we never received them, so we woudn't be paying for them. She promptly said "oh, they're in back, I can bring them out so you can take them with you?" We declined, paid our bill and began walking out... She followed us out the door with the wings in a to-go container. Again, we told her we didn't want them - they'd been sitting in back for at least in a hour. I'm not sure what's going on with this bartender, she's the regular bartender there every time we've been. She's very friendly, but something is off. How do you not know the doors are locked? How do you not hear the phone ringing for 45 minutes? Aren't there cooks there too? How do you put out a sign that says you close at 5:00 but then are unaware of the sign when someone asks about it? Most importantly how do you put in an order for a customer, ask them 10 minutes later if they want to order anything and then totally forget to bring their food to them? Is no one in the kitchen following up? Something just doesn't seem right here.... read more

Just average nothing exciting. The beers we ordered were not cold simply kind of cool. The appetizer (toasted ravs) painfully overcooked and tough to chew. Out of the four staff members working only one smiled. All the rest seemed like they didn't want to be there. Might go back might not. Either way no great loss. read more

We have not been to Mike's for several years so decided to stop by for dinner on a Saturday night. First, I will say that the waitress was very personable and accommodating. While we thought she did a very good job, she was apologizing that she should have done better. I am not sure why, because we were quite happy. My wife asked for samples of four different beers before deciding, and our waitress happily and quickly delivered all of them with no additional charge or look that she was sampling too many. We ordered several different entrees, and all we're very good. I had the salad and kabob which was tasty and fulfilling. The owner Mike stopped by our table and chatted with us, always a good sign when the owner is involved with the customers. After talking with Mike he later sent a free dessert to our table with a note from the waitress, from a fellow NOCO. What a nice touch, and a great way to get repeat business. Great place! Was in Ofallon looking at a house to rent and dined at this gem. They were not busy at all which is sometimes an indication of something wrong, but so glad we stayed. Should have taken a picture of the pub pretzel my daughter got because it was amazing, and the presentation unique. Sho ordered a burger which was great. I got the sirloin. The only thing that would have made it better would have been if we would have come on Tuesday when it's only $10. Hope to get the house so we can come back! read more

THREE CHEERS AND FIVE STARS -- I don't know how it took me so long to get to Mike's, but wow am I glad there's another good option in O'Fallon. My parents live there, and in the land of Applebee's and TGI Fridays, a local gem like this should be celebrated. My family and I went around 7pm on a Saturday evening and had a great time. Turns out you can get some great cocktails here... even their Manhattan is impressive. Our service was as great as the drinks. We really loved everything we had. The menu is pretty big and has something for everyone... even my mom, who's a vegetarian. Between the four of us we tried the cheeseburger, a panini, and the chicken quesadilla. Everything was so good that we ended up sharing. The burger was one of the best I've had in a while. The Cardinals game was on, the atmosphere was fun, and the food was just great. First visit based on Yelpers and we thought it was pretty good. My wife had the burger and slaw and liked hers. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and fries, that I also enjoyed. While I enjoyed my sandwich, it was not what you would call a traditional buffalo sauce. I tried to look at the menu on line when I got home to see if I missed the description, but it wasn't listed. Here for a wedding. From out of town. Needed to eat lunch between ceremony and reception. It's hours in between. Found Mikes Grill & Tap. Kristen the bartender took good care of us. She's awesome. We ordered a few items off the menu. Here are the highlights. Pretzel. Good! Get it. It can feel 3-4 people easily. Grilled cheese sandwich. Huge and delish! Very filled with ooyie gooie cheese. Had this place delivered last night and it was pretty good. The food was made quickly and was good pricing. We had the roasted ravioli which was great to start. The kids chicken fingers and the jalapeño jack chicken sandwich were both great too. I had the Buffalo chicken grilled cheese and I added jalapeños and mushrooms. I liked the taste but the bread was soooo soggy. We will try this again in person because delivery could've been the reason why. read more
