They are central time so felt like 2 pm to us eastern zoners. Wings are huge and mostly drummies. They auto serve ranch everytime, ask for the yummy bleu cheese and Asian Thai is a great wing sauce. 5 star service everytime, go early the weekend will have you on a wait. We went here today for lunch the week before the memorial day crowd comes in, and it could not have been more perfect! Nice and quiet we got to sit out on the dock with her dog which was great! I had the banging shrimp and my husband had the grouper sandwich. Plus we had the ahi appetizer and all of it was yummy! I would love to come back some night when there is a band, but I will say I can't imagine enjoying the peace and quiet that we did today during the summer months. It was quite lovely! Food was okay. The Crab cakes were quite good with lots of crab meat and a flavorful sauce. My Ruben was fine, but the onion rings were cold and chewy. All of the kids chicken tenders were overcooked and rubbery. The biggest problem was the service. Our server was very nice and tried hard, but seemed to be distracted. She apologized and told us she had our table of 12, a table of 15 and tables of 4. The forced 20% gratuity was excessive. Well I took the family down to Dale Hollow, the best kept secret in Kentucky, for a weekend on the lake. We rented a pontoon from Sulphur Creek Resort and stopped on our last day at Mike's Landing. For full disclosure, I had a gift card that I won in an e-auction so it was low risk, BUT I heard the food was really good and I honestly would have tried it anyway. We were NOT disappointed!! First, you can park your car here for lunch or mozy on up in your boat or pontoon to the 20 or so available slips. They do takeout but we ate on the deck once we parked the boat, and brought our 3 dogs out to enjoy the sun. Our service was stellar, the waitress was nice, chatted a bit and recommended some menu items, and was prompt with the drinks! However the table behind us I know was a little frustrated because their waiter lost them and they had to flag him down for a drink order - but he was so apologetic and afterwards very attentive. As for the food, everything came out FAST for NFL football on a beautiful Sunday around 2pm. The breading on the catfish strips was incredible, not overdone, crispy, with a little salt and pepper - a nice crisp flavor! The catfish itself was good and fresh, with thick pieces of fish. It was good, I prefer my catfish to be a little thinner but cooked perfectly. The onion rings were BOMB - just liked you'd want at a bar with a cold beer - and the hush puppies incredible, I mean crunchy outside, soft and fluffy inside, just a tad sweet. 3 for 99 cents, I should've ordered more!! My wife got shrimp and onion rings, she said the shrimp was fresh and large! My daughter had the kids cheeseburger and I'll tell you, it doesn't look homemade but it was delicious!! I had a bite and it was juicy on a nice buttery bun, down home southern comfort food my friends! The fries looked good, well seasoned, but I was too stuffed to try them. Overall, delicious lunch and definitely recommended. My only qualm was it was a bit pricey, which for the freshness of the food and portion sizes it's probably justified. The kids meals were $7.95 which felt high, and overall for 2 adults and 2 kids no appetizers or dessert and fountain drinks we spent $53 for lunch. Dale Hollow Lake was incredible, super clean, will definitely be back and will also reserve a meal to make sure to have Mike's Landing again. read more

We stopped in yesterday for lunch. It's a neat place to eat on the water. You can dine open air or inside. Our server, Mary Beth was very attentive. We were seated quickly and Mary Beth had us started with drinks right away. My husband ordered the Lake Burger with fries. The burger was moist and well seasoned with fresh toppings. I ordered the chicken fingers with fries. The fingers were tender and well seasoned. The batter was light and crispy. We had nachos, fried catfish, BBQ, pizza, a cheeseburger and onion rings. All very good quality and well made. They have no pagers or can't text you. We had no benches . Also could not go to our boat and wait because we could not hear our names. Only place to stand was close to bar. in sun. Now for the stars. This restaurant has the worst service I have ever seen. They rushed us to eat the rushed us to leave and they turned everything off thinking that that would make us leave. When we were leaving the manager told us that we were not need and they did not need our Business and they said that the owner would say the same thing. Do not eat here! The salad bar was covered in gnats. As soon as someone moved the tongs in the lettuce, a cloud of gnats came out of the lettuce. When you got closer you could see gnats on everything on the salad bar. It was utterly disgusting. The wait staff came out and covered the food up, I assume to put out the next day. You have to get your own drinks. The fountain drinks have a very odd taste to them. The waitress was poor at best. She took over 15 minutes to even approach our table. Then she was less than enthusiastic about serving us. Food was mediocre. We ate there because we were on a boat and had no other options. The food is not good. Mike's Landing has a cool atmosphere, but I haven't enjoyed the food. It would be nice if they could improve in that area. The service was good, people are nice. We had a group of 10 the place wasn't busy. We were able to order drinks and appetizers. We got our drinks and appetizers. We ordered our food at 1:45. We all sat and listened to Lane Morris which was the ONLY good thing about our experience at this restaurant. We had to go to the bar to get refills including kids, because we never saw our waitress after we placed our order. At 3:00 runners came with food the wings that were ordered were wrong, and were sent back, the runner handed out two orders of food that were correct, then NEVER came back with corrected wings or the rest of the food which was simply a salad and 10 wings. Still no waitress. 4:00 the waitress came to our table with checks and asked us how everything was, completely unaware that we didn't get all our food nor that we had at this time no drinks, because she was to eager to give us our checks. We told her about everything. The waitress then blamed the runners. She then said she would fix it. She returned with another waitress/manager? And told us that we wouldn't have to pay for our food only for our drinks. Again, never said anything about us getting our food. So, we requested the food to be put in to go boxes. At 4:30 we got only half of what we were still waiting on. Our waitress disappeared once again. We waited again, on only 10 wings and a salad. A man (cook?) from the back came out with the salad and asked if there was anything else, we told him about the wings but told him we needed to leave. We left with cold food and not all of what we ordered at 4:45-5. We will never come back. Absolutely pathetic. I was a waitress once and would never complain, but that was unacceptable for our waitress to never come back to check nor follow her food out and make sure we got everything we needed. The best part was her coming to our table after being ghost for 2.5 hours with our checks and asking us how EVERYTHING was? Lol read more
