I didn't understand the 3-1/2 stars until I noticed that they only have 28 reviews and the two bad ones were fro 2015 and 2019. It's too bad that those don't fall off because this place was very good. I had their seafood platter and my colleague had their crab cakes. Both were very good and reasonably priced. Great food and service. We were in town for a weekend getaway and looking for a nice meal without breaking the bank. Mikes definitely fit. Grilled flounder was wonderful with a Sauvignon Blanc. Ordered a small crawfish pie on the side and whoa!! Flaky and delish. My date had the seafood salad and remarked how much she enjoyed it. The food was ok, not NOLA, but then again.... We did a takeout and they forgot three of the items ordered. Overall, OK.

It was a Saturday evening and we were a party of 6. The seating in the front was busy and we had to wait. It was worth the wait. The onion rings are a side choice you don't want to miss. They were fried perfectly. The hush puppies were some the best I've had in recent years. The Cajun Catfish wasn't disappointing at all. I was pleasantly surprised with the overall experience. Food was equatable to what you can get in the grocery bakery/deli. Loaded baked potato is only cheese and sour cream. Service was lacking in time it took to get served and checked out. This could be a great place to eat if they kept food in stock & had better service. We stopped in for dinner to discover they were out of all but one steak and several seafood dishes. They were out of most beer and wine selections as well. It took over 45 min to get our meal. The food was really delicious; however, was not hot when received. Mike's in Jennings is a great local restaurant. We enjoy our "Saturday night date night".The food is good and the staff is wonderful. Often Mike's has "Glenn A Band Of One" he plays good music that you can enjoy while eating or even dance. read more

The food is absolutely horrible. All the food was cold and some in the party never got the food they ordered. When finally bringing out entrees after waiting over an hour. They told some people they didn't have anymore baked potatoes. My husband ordered a shipment baked potato and they brought it out as instant mashed potatoes in a dished that would not even be a child's plate. Don't waste your time or money. You are better off going down the street to shooneys Ordered the broiled snapper, with steamed green beans & sweet potato fries. The fish was so hard I couldn't cut it with my fork, the green beans were from a can although the sweet potato fries were good. Took 2 bites and called the waitress over. She seemed a little put out as she asked if I wanted another 1. I said, well not if its going to be like this. Ok, well what else do you want. Can I see the menu?? Definitely come here if you are looking to sit and starve and be mindfully neglected. Waitresses are very on point and serve food they do not know the restaurant carries. It Took over 1hour and 40 min to be served. Waitress took our order and disappeared into the abyss of silence. I figured she was also the chef due to the delay. I ordered bread for the table which never arrived. Blue cheese for salad was molded and gray in colored. I was told since she didn't eat blue cheese she didn't know what it should look like. My grandmother is from New Orleans so I know good cooking when I taste it. I think the ratings for this place are low because locals are spoiled by such great food. Everything in this area is delicious and Mike's is one of the best places you can eat without going all the way to Lafayette. I've eaten here 4 or 5 times and never been disappointed. I keep forgetting to write a review because I'm so full whenever I leave. If you're ever heading down I-10 in southern Louisiana this is a great place for an authentic Louisiana meal. read more

Slow service. I was there on a Wednesday night at 630. The waitress took 10 minutes to acknowledge me. When she did, I ordered my full meal to try to speed the process. However, it was unacceptably slow half hour after ordering to bring me a steak and she never checked in on me during the wait. Looking around, most folks had a very long wait too. I was very tempted to simply leave. It was not crowded and they didn't seem understaffed. On the bright side, the meal was good. The waitress brought me the check promptly and I instantly gave her my credit card. She returned almost 10 minutes later. (Carrying the food to serve a family that was in the restaurant before I was seated). I'm unlikely to return, but if I did, I wouldn't go when hungry. read more

Hi, I was staying in Jennings on business & we asked where a good place to eat & the hotel clerk suggested Mike's Seafood. Well we walked in around 6:30pm & stood there for 5 minutes, no one came so we sat down at a table. About 10 minutes a lady showed up to wait on us. We ordered after waiting on her to return for 15 minutes. In the meantime, needing another round of beers, our waitress was hard to run down. Seems either she had a big party in the back or they were short handed. Food came, food was good, but mainly it was the service or the lack of service. Every time we needed something, she wasn't around to ask, then when she did helped us, it would take forever for her to return...She never asked how the food was or etc...For the price, at least the food was good, but good service is lacking badly.... read more

I've been here on three separate occasions. All three times the service was terrible. On our second visit we ordered crawfish. After waiting 20 minutes, another table's server came out and told us they didn't have any more. Yet 3 couples that came in after us were eating boiled crawfish. You guys must not be eating at the same place that I have been!!...found this site, because I had googled Mike's for their phone number. My family wants to make a large reservation to celebrate my father's 80th birthday. I have eaten here many times; so have friends and family members and let's just say that these reviews will not discourage us from celebrating at Mike's! If you've never been, and know what great Cajun seafood is supposed to taste like, give it a try. If you happen to have poor service, ask for the manager. This place was a great find off of the highway on our road trip. We split the fried alligator appetizer, I had the fried crawfish dinner, and my mother had the crawfish etouffe and fried oyster dinner. All of the food was very good. They also had a full bar and good house wines at extremely reasonable prices ($3.50 per glass of wine). read more
