Double Jumbo Cheeseburger is something that will make you a repeat customer.
JayDee L.

The Double Jumbo Cheeseburger is my favorite and the service beats any fast food restaurant. Order was done less time than it takes you to walk to your vehicle to get something out of it. I will be back!!!

Walk up and order
veek n.

Get off the exit (64) and resist the urge to stop at the Shoney's or the McD's or the BK. I know you're tired and hungry and have to pee. You've been driving so long you're not even sure what state you are in, or what day it is, bless your heart. But hang in there, drive about a mile from the exit, hang a left and a right (let Waze guide you) and find your way to 1118 State. You'll swear you've stepped back in time, and that you're on old rt 66. Park yourself and walk up to the window. The locals will be lined up, and they don't mind if you furriners ain't from around these parts. The friendly ladies will greet you, call you sugar and baby, whip you up a milkshake and a cheeseburger dee-luxe in no time flat. No one's asking how you want it cooked - they cook it the way they have been cooking it forever - and it'll be pretty darn near the most perfect cheeseburger you can remember having. The milkshakes are, well, they should be mandatory. Point being, get one. They are rich and thick and made with real ice cream (of course). Don't come here looking for a salad, but they do have grilled cheese, fries, fried mushrooms and a few other non-meat options for you fat vegetarians. Everything here is so relaxin and tasty that you might have almost forgotten that you have to pee. There _is_ a bathroom here but this furriner recommends you hold it just a lick longer unless you're super into roughing it. Maybe stop at the McD's or BK on the way back to I-10 to take care of that bidness, bless your heart.

M&M Rocket Shake

This out of the way burger joint hit the spot after a few hours on the road ! The shake selection was great ! Burger have nice flavor and welcome treat after getting a bland burger in New Orleans ( our fault for eating st a heavily tourist spot )

The nice lady who took my order called me baby. She looked like my granny so I appreciated it. My husband and I are pescatarians. We chose fish burgers and sweet potato fries. They offer funnel fries with powdered sugar. We did not order them and are both filled with great regret.

We arrived just a couple minutes after their 11 a.m. opening, and the place was already packed, a good sign in itself. Luckily, with only three of us, the hostess got us seated at a table right away. The exterior isn't much to look at, but stepping inside tells a different story. The interior has a sports bar meets old school diner vibe, with decor that gives the whole place a nostalgic, lived-in charm. We all decided on the Darrell's Special sandwich with jalapeño mayo, and it did not disappoint. Our waitress was fantastic the whole meal, constantly checking in, keeping our drinks filled, and making sure we didn't need anything else. Despite how busy the place was, our sandwiches came out in a surprisingly short time. The sandwich itself is a beast! A toasted, loaded bun stacked with ham, turkey, and roast beef (which I hear is made in-house), all topped with roast beef gravy, American, Swiss, and provolone cheeses, lettuce, mustard, and your choice of regular or jalapeño mayonnaise, of course we had the Jalapeño Mayo. The first bite reminded me of a warm French dip, but that impression quickly gave way to layers of different meat flavors, rounded out by the subtle heat of the jalapeño mayo. It practically melted in my mouth. Honestly, I wanted to finish the whole thing, but I didn't want to need to be rolled out of the building, so I boxed up the second half and enjoyed it again for dinner. Great food, great service, and now I understand what all the buzz was about.

I…read morearrived at peak time on Saturday it seemed since the parking lot was packed, and once inside, also packed. It took a few mins to clean the last open table. The menus are on the table but you really don't need a menu here since there are only a few items. Everyone comes here for po-boys obviously and they have a few to choose from. The top 2 choices are the most common, the special and the surf and turf. To me, what makes a good po-boy, is the bread....like many other sandwiches. If you have great bread, you're usually making a good sandwich. I tried the small special, while the rest of the table tried either the special or surf and turf. They don't have a formal kids menu, but they just have either PB&J or grilled cheese. We tried the grilled cheese. My fav ended up being the surf and turf due to it being cleaner to eat and more variety of taste and texture between the bread. I liked the special, but I forgot to ask the server to remove the American cheese, so it made it taste funny and would have been better without it.

We had chicken and sausage gumbo, Pepper Jack boudin balls, bam bam gator bites and the blackened chicken pasta. The waiter this time was better than the waitress we had last time. He was very attentive and made sure we never had to ask for refills. The appetizers came out fairly normal time-wise I would say. The main portion took a little bit longer than what you're used to at a franchise restaurant but here that's perfectly fine as it's worth the couple extra minutes. The gumbo is perfect(I love when gumbo is not over complicated) I like to add a lil hot sauce to it and it's delicious... only thing is, while they already give generous portions... the cup and the bowl looked exactly the same except I think in the bowl they give you one extra scoop of rice... which would be just fine if it wasn't like $6 more. But still delicious nonetheless. The bam bam gator bites were really good and I highly recommend them. If you like bam bam shrimp you'll love these. The pepper jack boudin balls were good, nothing special but they were definitely worth the try. My co-worker had the blackened chicken pasta and when I asked him how it was he said "dude, it's really good!" lol. The building is pretty unique and they have some outside seating with a massive beautiful tree that over looks the restaurant and takes claim to some of the asphalt in the parking lot lol. But it's a great spot for birthdays, good lunch menu deals, casual date night or if you wanna blow some steam off, they have a little bar in the restaurant as well. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend. I'm from East Texas, so I'm no Cajun/Louisianan but they truly got some good grub here. I'll definitely be coming back several more times when I get the chances. I will warn you, I believe the food is freshly made so when it gets to the table, give it some time to cool off because it comes out HOT.

While other restaurants in Abbeville…read morecome and go, the Park has stayed the same and keeps on serving up satisfying selections to locals and visitors alike. The Park has a big breakfast following. They do pancakes and omelettes in addition to their standard breakfast fare. If you get a chance you should certainly try their Sweet Potato Pancakes! A Southern speciality! I am usually in the Park for lunch, and they are excellent for a midday meal. It should be mentioned that if you want to eat breakfast for lunch, they will accommodate you till 2PM! If you want a more traditional lunch, they have a daily Plate Lunch that pairs a hearty entree with rice and two sides. They also have a great selection of sandwiches ranging from a simple BLT to loaded Po-Boys. There's also a Crab Patty Burger for something delicious and different! But that's not all! There's soups, salads, and seafood! There's also a Short Order section of the menu. For the health conscious, there's a selection of grilled seafood served with grilled broccoli! There's also dessert! Usually there's slices of three to four pies, and often bread pudding. This will be a great finish for a homestyle meal. It's a small historic building, that's not too fancy. In fact it is so historic that the restrooms are outside out back. However, this shouldn't deter the visitor looking for a good meal, as we all know that local hole-in-the-walls are worth visiting...

Suggestions are shrimp dishes, gumbo, crawfish, & sandwiches. Over half the customers are locals & regulars. As other local eateries decline, Rice Palace improves. Here today! Myself…read moreand 3 of my coworkers was on our way to Florida, 2 were truck drivers. For anyone that doesn't know, truck drivers and bus drivers know the best places to eat. I had no suggestions, all I knew was I knew of the best place to get some boudin balls. Picture the 4 of us hungry hippos talking over each other wanting what we want and all claiming we knew the best place to get the best of what we craved. I cleared the least hours so when it came to driving, NOT me but I totally forgot we were passing through Louisiana so I acted exhausted and chose the rear of the van so count me out the equation hahaha. The rule of thumb is the driver gets the final say on where we stop to eat and he CLAIMED the place he knew had great food including boudin balls (I'm in the rear flipping through my Yelp reviews searching for the place I was insisted on stopping at). Ok so we pull up to this deserted hole in the wall (see picture) parking lot irritated voicing my disappointment and so did the other 2 except the driver who was reassuring us the food was DA BEST, he raved on and on about their food was life changing. We walk in and the place and it's DESERTED, but I did see a couple eating boudin balls so ok fine. Our waitress took our drink order, I wanted an Arnold Palmer and she explained their tea wasn't sweet because majority of their customers were seniors. As we're looking over the menu the driver wasn't, he still insisting the food was da chiii and already knew what he wanted, I'm looking for BOUDIN BALLS hangry (hungry/angry) coworker 3 saying we needed to go elsewhere, coworker 4 asking is the food even Cajun and do they have seasoning she could add. As we're ordering I asked WHERE ARE THE DANG boudin balls, she say they don't have them and what I saw the couple had was fried mushrooms balls. The driver who chose the restaurant was conveniently in the restroom! We all order and waited impatiently for our meals still complaining and small talking. Our meals arrive and the 3 of us looking at our plates like toddlers deciding if we was going to eat what we was given, the waitress said it's a lot she knows. Naw lady, this a hole in the and inflation too high to waste on food we won't like, this Louisiana and we know there's better in this State. WE took our first bites in unison and said DAMN looks are deceiving! THEEE flavor was there! Each of us started raving about what we ordered and offering each other a taste of Louisiana cooking! The portions were enough to take with us since we would be arriving in Florida late and had to clear 8 hrs before we took over our buses. We was so satisfied with the portions of out left overs that we didn't need to spend anymore money, we want to sleep the rest of the ride. WE highly recommend Rice Palace if you want to try a different restaurant in Louisiana, or a budget because eating on a road trip isn't as affordable anymore we have to be cost conscious. Here today! Yup will be back tomorrow!
