I had an incredible experience there the other day. I came in and Mikey himself helped me! Gave me recommendations, let me sit on a number of beds, giving me all of the details about each. I was in a hurry as I had twin babies in the car with a friend (they were sleeping and waking them is only what the insane do). Mikey knew this and my purchase was complete so quickly once I made a decision on a mattress with a delivery scheduled for the following morning. She took her time with me, listened to my needs and recommended 3 very good mattresses within my price range. I had a very hard time deciding because they were all very comfortable. I just wanted to give a huge thank you to Mike and Jenny at Mikey Mattress in West Hempstead. I've seen Mikey Mattress advertised locally and saw that they had good reviews. My husband and I were desperate for a new mattress, two adults (one with a back injury) in a double bed wasn't working for us anymore. I always wanted to get a new bed but always put it off because of the price and I didn't want to deal with large chains who don't care if you're happy with your purchase. Until last week when I hobbled into Mikey Mattress with back and hip pain, desperate for a new bed. There I met Jenny who was so sweet and accommodating, I couldn't believe I was in a mattress store. Their prices were reasonable and unbeatable and their customer service was top notch (something I rarely see in business anymore). I bought a king size bed with standard box spring to be delivered , and in my ignorance going from a double bed to a king bed, I didn't realize how high the bed would be...until after the delivery guys left, of course. A quick phone call to Mikey Mattress and they were back in 20 minutes (on a Friday after 5!) to take away the standard boxspring and set up a low profile box spring. I can't say enough good things about Mikey Mattress, I had no idea there were still businesses out there that still care about customer satisfaction. My spine and I can't thank Jenny and Mike enough! I was referred to Mikeys Mattress & now I know why...the namesake of this company is "old school" in the way he conducts business. It's easy to handle situations when things go well but the true testament to anyone (especially in business) is how they handle situations when thinks do not go as planned. The point of sale with Mikey was easy, competitive & respectful. He made it a pleasure to spend my hard earned money...especially buying a product that is not necessarily fun. Mikey is also extremely educated and you can tell he loves what he does. The drama occurred when by NO FAULT of Mikey his freight forwarder consigned my shipment to a never before used trucking company. My mattress was delivered to my state & sitting in a warehouse for days before I was even contacted for delivery. After scheduling the delivery the trucking company not only never showed but never communicated. Finally, the mattress was delivered and to major disappointment & frustration was damaged (seemingly by the trucking company's fork lift). Dear fellow consumers...please pay attention to following: Mikey answered every single text & call in minutes or sooner throughout this process. This man "had my back" & went to battle every step of the way. There is no doubt in my mind that his profits were lost big time given his time and dedication..,,,but you know what? He built the bridge stronger during this adversity & I will never by a mattress elsewhere!!!! Further, I will refer him repeatedly ....as I am right now!! We heard great things about Mikey Mattress so we decided to give it a try to buy our son a full-size mattress. Jenny was very patient with us...and our 2 rambunctious, young children! She patiently showed us several different mattresses - too soft, too hard, and finally, just right!
