Aloha Island Mart Waianae is not related to 7-11 Hawaii or any of the Hele gas stations. The…read moreconvenience store and gas station is operated under Aloha Petroleum which is a subsidiary of Sunoco. As a person walks into the store they will see the open air refrigerator filled with package beverages as well as apples and oranges...sorry no lemons. To the right side of the store would be the shelves filled with merchandises like the salty snacks, candies, groceries, over the counter medicines, car oil, and even your basic office supplies like pens, white out, and envelopes. The cooler doors would have more package beverages as well as alcohol. Sorry there are no wine or hard liquor at this convenience store. The first door near the register consists of food products like sandwiches, burritos, pumpkin crunch, and salads. Milk products are located in the same section...sorry no butter. Interested in a quick bite...then there are hot musubis and bentos in the big warmer, hot dogs and tornados on the grill, manapua and pork hash in the steamer, baked manapua plus breakfast or lunch sandwiches in the small warmer, or even nachos. F'real smoothies or milkshakes are available here. Fountain drinks like Pepsi, Coke, iced tea or root beer are available too. Add a shot of cherry, vanilla, lemon, or energy to your fountain drink. Coffee fanatics can enjoy the chiller coffee, hot coffee, or even cappuccino flavored drinks. Bank of Hawaii ATM is located inside. Gift cards, long distance phone cards, and Hot Tip merchandises are sold here too. Hydroflask and football themed sip cups can be purchased here as well. Cash or check paying customers with a Maikai card, Farmers insurance card, or AAA card can get 5¢ off a gallon of gas. Aloha Island Mart Waianae is one of the 24hr convenience stores serving the Makaha and Waianae community. First stop for gas for most residents as they head out of Waianae and last stop for nearby residents when heading home. 79/100

Friendly greeting and welcoming vibes upon entrance into…read morethe store. I miss coming to this spot with family to get plate lunches when we lived down in waianae, but since we haven't been to this location in a while we finally made the attempt yesterday from Kapolei to come down to Maili. I'm happy we did because the pastele plates we got was 1/1 mild and spicy with Mac salad and 2 scoop rice. The meat was tender and savory giving you the correct amount of flavor with seasoning and balance. You can tell they put the heart into making these. Although there are many variations to Pasteles this one is my favorite. The Mac salad is good also better than other places I've tried. The opihi I also brought and added my own sauce to it with and enjoyed it with their Hawaiian Style (Inamona) poke on the side. My only recommendation is the panadeja was more of a pulled pork look and of course that's what it is but I was looking for more of a stew consistency of which it was not. Now don't get me wrong the flavor wasn't lacking and was juicy but it was just shredded pork inside and you can see couple of black olives that's it. I will still purchase them but a slight upgrade would be nice to those, just my opinion.

Its a two story green building right off the highway. There is 6 or 7 parking spaces in front and a few on thr side of thebuilding. The entrance is in the middle of the building. The staff is super cool. Cory (pic) was super friendly and welcomed us with a smile The insides is of an old school general store setting but the main seller here is their food. A lot of varietyon the menu (pic) we went with the chicken wings (good) lau lau (ok) shoyu chicken (phenomenal) I am sure they sell out for sure!!! and the empanadas(soo good!!) They probably sell out of this too. Portions was fair and prices reasonable. (Nothing is cheap anymore) Its a place I always drove by and wondered about but now next time I am in the area will be stopping by here for sure!! A hidden jem in plain sight
