Maybe we picked an off night but we had a strange experience at Miki's. We met up with a group of friends, a few were there already, others arrived after us. We ordered pretty soon after we arrived, we got egg rolls and two rice bowls. Our egg rolls came out quickly but our meals took quite a bit longer...the friends who arrived after we ordered got their meals before we received ours. When we asked about our food, she told us they gave it to someone else. No apologies, no urgency. Our food eventually came out and it was fairly mediocre. Best soy chicken garlic wings I have had in my life. Not a fan of karaoke but you can tell everyone loves it there. Only weird thing was the chef/owner was upset that I didn't ask for no sauce on my fried mozzarella dog. To be fair I couldn't see that there was sauce on it in the printed out picture. The food is really tasty and the employees are kind and helped me understand which items are vegetarian or could be made vegetarian. But man, that DJ is a drag. Karaoke was fun and I thought it was running smoothly until a DJ took over around 8pm, changed the vibe in a bad way, and reordered people as they tipped him. Great for late night eats, kitchen stay open much later then most restaurants and I even broke out of my karaoke shell. Such a fun spot on a Friday night. They do let you make reservations ahead of time if you have a large group. It was a great spot to celebrate a friend's birthday. Very unassuming from the outside but such fun vibes inside. read more

My friend came a few months ago when they had opened and suggested we come for dinner. It was a Wednesday night, so they weren't busy. Maybe it's busier on weekends. No one was singing karaoke tonight. It's a large space though! 2 rooms and outdoor seating to accommodate for crowds. You order at the counter and then they'll bring out the food. I got a 22oz Kirin! Surprisingly I finished it! My friend got Sapporo. We also shared lychee soju, one of my favorite flavors. They have a lot of flavor choices! I will add that the soju was pricey--as in it's the usual price they'd charge at a restaurant. But I can't complain. Soju is pricey when you live inland LOL For food, we shared the pajeon which wasn't too big and was delicious with the bits of seafood in it! It wasn't as crispy as how it is at other Korean spots I've been to in other cities but not bad! My friend and I both did cupbops. It gave me Bibibop vibes, for anyone whose had their food in Ohio lol It was served in a bowl with carrots, mushrooms, bean sprouts, lettuce, egg and noodles. I got mine with bulgogi while my friend chose tuna. It's pretty substantial and is worth it for the price. I was stuffed! It tasted good, but does need the sauces. They didn't have any sitting out, so my friend asked for the house sauce and yum yum at the counter. We got the mild version of the house sauce but I'm curious about the spicier options. Staff was nice! The owner was at the counter and was pretty personable. Glad to see a little corner of K-town here in Louisville! read more

I LOVE Miki's for karaoke. The selection is endless. I think they have every song in their catalog. The set up is great because the lyrics play in front of the performer but also behind them so the audience can sing along. It's not a huge space, so the vibe is pretty intimate. I've eaten here a few times and the food is just okay to me. I'm willing to give more items a try, but the things I've had were just average to me. They have a full bar and tons of drink options. If you love a low-key atmosphere for a karaoke bar - this is definitely the place to be. read more

Management nice and food is decent. However, the karaoke dj for the weekends is very egotistical and likes to outcast people who seem to intimidate him. Stopped by on my birthday to sing and only got to sing one song, not because of the que but because dj felt he had some sort of power in his position. If management would change their karaoke dj this would be a great place. However, his unprofessionalism and his self entitlement has given me a distaste for this place and I will not be returning. read more

This restaurant is a karaoke restaurant with Korean food. The English description of the pajeon was "Seafood & vegetable pancake," but it was smaller than expected, and I could not find seafood in it. Not many chicken wings. They are spicy with a gochujang base. It was delicious, though. If you don't like spicy food, you can order the sauce separately. The ramen and cup bop were pretty standard. What makes this restaurant special is the feeling of having a fun party with strangers. I'm not a good singer. So I just clapped along to the songs people were singing. When the songs ended, many people cheered and seemed to be enjoying themselves. You can feel like a singer. Of course, I guess the food included the price of the song. You don't have to pay extra for singing. Have a good time with your friend at Miki's. read more

I was at Miki's last night and this place had the most talented and fun people I have even seen in one place at one time, that includes New York, San Francisco, Philadelphia, and L.A. Seriously. People were respectful, and the self-service karoake set-up is super-smart because it encourages people to be considerate. The food was good and the service was friendly and low-key. The team wants people to have fun and I bet they feel off some amazing performances that I would not have expected in such as understated environment 20 minutes to the east of downtown Louisville. I will figure out how to go back. It is worth it. read more

Miki's! The owner is so nice, the food is amazingly fresh and full of flavor and came out in only a few minutes after ordering! Karaoke is always a nice touch to having a good time and came here to celebrate a special birthday! Even for a random quiet night in Louisville, everyone was so welcoming and entertaining. They also stay open if you're hungry and want drinks. This place was only a few minutes from a bar that closed early and I'm so glad to have stumbled upon here. Its a nice place ...hard to believe it is the same place Cliftons pizza used to be. If people would use the self serve Karaoke like respectful adults it would be fun and wonderful. When the KJ runs it....all is good. Except then it was too loud for my taste. The drinks are well made and the food is good. Prices seem fair for what you get. read more

I love karaoke and this is the best place I've been to in Louisville so far! The song list is absolutely incredible. So many things I've been dying to sing but never get the chance to other places. Miki herself was my bartender and she was so sweet and so helpful. We were the only people in there (past 11) on a Wednesday night and I know that's not everyone's going out night but it still is such a shame because this place was so good. Horrible experience. Service was awful. When we entered the empty establishment with no one singing and requested a karaoke song, staff immediately refused to allow my group (primarily people of color) to choose a song citing that we had not yet ordered food or drink (although we planned to). Within 5 minutes, they immediately agreed to play a song for the group (primarily white) that walked in after us who, similarly had not yet ordered food or drink. When I very calmly addressed this concern, the security guard threatened to throw me out and indicated that the other group had been there longer than us. When I calmly approached the other group to ask them if they had indeed been there longer than us, they denied having been there longer than us, and then the security guard approached me and told me that I l was harassing other clients. The other client clarified that she did not feel harassed, regardless, I was asked to leave which I did. Clearly, a major issue with racism in this establishment. Other than concerns about our treatment, the place was empty and unappealing. No one was singing. horrible karaoke bar. Absolutely recommend a much more inclusive karaoke bar such as Akikos in Nulu. read more

Have only been once but the Spicy ramen and chicken fried rice dishes we got were fantastic! Ramen was spicy as advertised but had a great taste, not just heat. Miki and the girl who took our order were so friendly and welcoming. Can't wait to go back. Great addition to an area where so many shut their doors so early on the weekends. Took my family to Miki's Karaoke Bar for dinner and it was so yummy! The kids loved the dumplings, the shrimp fried rice and the crispy chicken wings. All so delicious! I had the ramen with dumplings and my husband had the bulgogi which both hit the spot. Such comforting food. Miki and her family are so welcoming, kind and helpful. Best karaoke place in town! Super simple sign-up, great, enthusiastic crowd, delicious food, and all the technology actually works! (Take note, Louisville businesses).
