Service is slow, I think they're overcharging us too. Booth seats with a grill in the middle of the table. Food was meh, I've had better. Pretty mediocre place.

There's a small bug on the washed lettuce, which the owner said is the lettuce itself.

My friends and I really liked this restaurant until today. We used to go there all the time because there was nothing like it in London. But we had a very bad experience at the restaurant today. The lettuce we ordered came in completely dry by the first time. But we are fine with it cause maybe they already washed it until I saw a small fly and a dark spot on a piece of lettuce. But we just asked the waiter to bring it down for a change and wash the lettuce. After a new plate of lettuce arrived, we spotted a another small fly and took a photo of it while it was dripping, but didn't want to comment about it on social media. At the end of the meal, we told the waiter about it and asked if there might be a discount for having small flies for two times on my dishes. The waiter told us to call in the boss and take away the lettuce with the small fly. When the boss came up, he said it was not small flies, but black spots of rotted lettuce. When we showed him the photos, he denied it and said we had no proof because the lettuce had been taken away in advance. We did not expect that the boss would deny it and say that our photos were useless. The boss kept denying and argued that it was the lettuce itself and they don't need customers like us and just walked away. We were very fond of this shop before, so we didn't say that there must be a discount. At least the boss could say "sorry, we will carefully clean up next time." I really don't recommend this shop that doesn't wash the lettuce and won't admit it's a small fly even after the customer eats it!! We still gave 10% tip since the it's mandatory. We really didn't expect the boss attitude would so bad!!!!!!

Overpriced poor service. Waitress would not even show us a menu. We walked out. We will never be back.

I love their honey fries! they're so crispy and slightly sweet and come with the perfect dipping sauce. I think it's a unique dish which is definitely worth trying out! We got carbonara and curry sauces to go with our Katsu. The curry sauce has a really robust flavour profile and is full of all these incredible warm spices, I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend getting this sauce. The carbonara sauce was nice as well and really creamy, I just wish it was a TAD bit spicier. I'm not sure how but Katsuya always has the flakiest crispiest Katsu and it is so appreciated. Portion sizes are very generous so you can easily split with friends, or indulge yourself depending on hunger levels. Overall a really positive experience, I look forward to coming back many more times!

I…read moreassumed it was a just a Japanese Tonkatsu place until we ate here and saw the sign on the outside. My expectations may have been thrown off a little since I didn't realize what Katsuya trying to do. That said, the food was good, but nothing I'd shout on top of the hills for. The food was still decent, so had to still give it four stars. As much as I am not a fan of fusion restaurants, my favorite was the carbonara katsu. It was like dipping your katsu into an Italian seafood alfredo sauce, with a decent amount of seafood and bacon in it. The pair of this fusion was delightful and I enjoyed eating this one the most. The katsu itself had a nice light, crispy, airy batter, and the pork (you can choose your type of meat) was tender. It was light, yet deep fried, so super oily and felt like a heavy meal. My second favorite was the curry katsu. A good curry sauce with your katsu, typical to what I've gotten at other Japanese restaurants, and exactly what I would expect. It had a slight spice to it. The original katsu I wasn't too much of a fan of. The sauce was a little too buttery for me. Buttery and sweet. I'd come back for the carbonara katsu again for a dip into this italian/japanese fusion.

In the picture I took, the excellent, homemade-tasting, oniony curry sauce is off to the side so you can add it to the katsu (and rice) just before you dig in. This means your cutlet stays crispy the whole time. Wonderful presentation in a lovely to-go bento box. Meal included a cup of miso soup as well. The other picture was my partner's pick. Unagi poke bowl with added salmon (for an extra $4). Great portions and really well flavoured. She commented especially favourably on the tempura crispy bits throughout the bowl, which provided great texture. Go here. Order. You won't be sorry. They have a nice 20% discount for first-timers on the website. Also a nice 15% discount for pick-up.

Also got takoyaki, chicken karage, and pork teriyaki katsu and we enjoyed it all. Highly highly recommend!
