Some people would be skeptical about Peruvian food around here, but make no mistake, the food is fantastic!! We left the restaurant NEXT DOOR because the menu did not look good and they only had one server! This was a HUGE blessing as Mikuna was excellent... server was great, food delicious, etc... only complaint was that the elk tenderloin was tiny (2oz. No where near 6)... but all in all, it was a great restaurant and we would gladly return. read more

The manager, Melissa, was amazing!!! It did take us a while to get seated, after they told us on the phone there was no wait. On top of that the food took about 1.5 hours to arrive, but she gave us complimentary drinks to compensate. The drinks were GOOD and strong. Atmosphere was pretty sophisticated, but comfortable. Food was amazinggg once it came and totally worth it. Would recommend for anyone in town, but make a reservation. read more

Pulled into town at 8:15 after a very long travel day and found this place. What a gem! We had the best dinner! We all tried new dishes and flavors and the younger two appreciated the kids menu. This was a pretty good meal. Surprising based on the location. We had calamari for the app and it was probably some of the best calamari that I've ever had. It was tender and the amount of breading was perfect and it didn't taste greasy at all. We had the chicken (can't recall the name) and opted for it grilled. I didn't like the flavor of one of the herbs on it. My husband did though. I also thought the accompanying potatoes were just okay. I would return here again, if in the area. It's been a couple of years since I've been back here because of nominal food. My wife and I decided to try again for a celebration dinner. The decor had been improved and the staff was wonderful. The ceviche was some of the best I have had. Wife's plate of seafood and rice was good she said. However, my Saltado was sub par. Steak tasted like old meat and little of it, rice was good but maybe a 1/4 of a cup. The vegetables served with the steak amounted to a couple of ounces. It is served with what is supposed to be papas but we're no more than French fries cooked in stale oil. For the expense of the meals and food quality I am sorry to say not a place to try again for a while. I am sure that based on the other positives the owner may bring the food up to a higher standard. read more

My wife and I are on our honeymoon. We decided to stop here after a day of snowboarding. The service was great and pretty fast for a light crowd. She got a Marg, which didn't have much alcohol, but that's hit and miss depending on the day. We got some calamari which was okay, but we both ordered the Creamy Shrimp Scampi (spicy) and it had amazing flavor!!! I asked her if we could come back here tomorrow and order the same thing lol. We ate indoors but they also have a sun room & outdoor seating. Service was excellent & the Peruvian dishes were very good. Unless you really like spicy food, I would order medium or no spice. First of, a 4-star anywhere in Angel Fire is generous. Mikuna grill has great Peruvian Asian fusion food. Me and my son had the Arroz con Mariscos and we both loved it. Best food in Angel Fire (so far). It is hard to find decent food in this wonderful little mountain town we call (2nd) home. The food was delicious and filling. Wine selection was decent. It was over priced, but what isn't in a ski town. We are adventuring to try out (and review) every place in town. So far this place has the best food. The service was fantastic. Server was so attentive and full of recommendations. I would say it's kid friendly, we brought both of ours (8yo & 4yo). Our 4yo is quite loud, and the restaurant is fairly quiet, so we were nervous. The only place in Angel Fire area who honors reservations/times- we got seated early and were waited on promptly. Food was phenomenal and piping hot/fresh! We had a small snafu with them bringing the wrong dinner to one of our guests, he didn't mind and just started eating anyway. Manager came over, apologized, and then still brought his correct dish letting him have 2 dishes and only charging for the one. They also comped my boyfriend's steak as "the cut isn't up to our normal standards in terms of size so we aren't charging for it." We'd told them numerous times that it was ok, and to not worry about anything! The food was good so we really didn't mind any of the mixups. Service was great, the entertainment was awesome, and the food was delicious and good sized portions! We will absolutely be back to this restaurant when we come back to Angel Fire. read more

Who ever would have thought there'd be a Peruvian food restaurant in Angel Fire? We were surprised. So the Peruvian and I made sure to give this spot a try. The food and service were very good. I'd be happy to eat here again. Pollo a La Brasa is a whole roasted chicken. We really wanted to try that, but missed the note about ordering it a day ahead, but next time for sure. The ceviche and papa a la Huancaina were both legit tasty. The papa a la Huancaina is a boiled potatoes dish with a spicy yellow sauce over the top, usually a side dish. We missed the traditional kalamata olives that usually accompany this dish, and they didn't have any, only the standard USA black olives (yuck), when we asked if we could get a side of olives. The Huancaina sauce was very good. The ceviche surprised me. There's no ocean near Angel Fire, but the fish was delicious. My Peruvian dining partner ordered the obligatory Inca Cola. If you are dining with kids I'd definitely recommend sharing an Inca Cola. It looks like Mountain Dew, but doesn't taste like it. It has a sweet fruity flavor. I've grown fond of it over the years, kids will love it. The service was a little bit rocky at the start as a couple of items we wanted to order weren't available. We went early around 4pm or so the kitchen hadn't fully prepared for the dinner service. The waitress was very nice, though, and we understood. They have a few dining in options: an indoor dining room, indoor patio and an outdoor patio dining. Both the indoor patio and outdoor patio have a great view. It's super easy to miss this little spot. It's tucked in behind a ski rental store. Look for the "WINE & DINE" sign to find the restaurant entrance. October 2020 read more

I have nothing nice to say about this experience. My food made me gag. The waitress was lovely. It wasn't her fault, it was just disgusting.

It was so expensive and horrible. The restaurant was pretty. The service was horrible it took so long and the employee was very rude.

After a long day fishing Mikuna was near our condo and lured us in with the aromatic smells. Melissa was wonderful and was helpful with the choices we made. Spicy shrimp scampi and chile rellenos with Christmas sauce. Paired with a nice Pinot and local ipa. Dinner was great and we enjoyed our time together. read more

Great food and service. A hidden gem in Angel Fire. We had the fish and chips and fried Ribeye. Both were excellent. And you can't eat in a Peruvian restaurant and not have something they specialize in so we had the stew. It was full of flavor and interesting spices. Well worth it. Just an overall outstanding hidden gem in Angel Fire, worth the drive from either Taos or Red River if you're looking for something new. The authentic food and excellent wine selection was wonderful, and the seafood rice dish I had(?) was perfect... forgot what it was called, but it reminded me of Spanish paella? The ate lunch on the patio, with our two dogs accompanying us. The menu is very diverse; I had the Reuben Sandwich and my husband had the California Sandwich. Both were delicious! The service was great...each dog got their own bowl of water. Will definitely return. read more

The food was amazing. Common beer choices plus local/state made beers. Liquor is wine based but we were fine with that because we came for the food. Service might be slightly slower than some but the unique food options made it worth it. Our waiter also offered to take our picture and wanted to make sure the food was good. We also had fresh salads (no awful iceburg). The yucca fries and calamari with unique dips were also amazing. Definitely recommend. Only thing I will note is the cost is a little higher buuuut I believe it's worth it for unique food choices and atmosphere. read more

Can't say enough good things about the food here - do not skip out on the items with the yellow sauce, it's addictive. The service was alright and the employees were not vey helpful. My daughter ordered butter noodles from the kids meal and it more than 20 minutes to come and when it came it was a very small plate soaked with butter. I ordered shrimp with noodles with a spicy sauce it was very salty and normally I don't waste food but this was the first time I wasted my food. I hope this review helped. Everything was wonderful, the drinks, the service and the food. The food came out a little later than expected, but it wasn't a big deal being that we had no where to go after. We brought our son in with us and they can accommodate to smaller children which was a bonus for us. I had a great time at this restaurant. Our waitress was very friendly and chatty, and the food was delicious. There was even a performer that came out for entertainment! I ordered the arroz con mariscos, which my fiancé and I thought was the best dish. The rice was so flavorful and creamy, and complimented the seafood perfectly. I absolutely recommend it to any seafood lover. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of my fiancé's dish. He ordered the bowl of beef stew; he didn't find it very flavorful.
