My wife bought me a silver shaving bowl for our anniversary at the Tabasco shop. They sell Pepsi products. The difference between the large vs medium margarita wasn't that much of a value. Erika B was a very nice server. She had a nice smile. Portions on people plates seemed very adequate and looked yummy.

However, I ordered the bbq ribs because the menu says they are baby back ribs. They are not: they are spare ribs. Very tough and you have to saw them off the bone with a knife. I went ahead and ate as much as I could because I was starving after hiking all day. I asked the waitress if these were really baby back ribs. She said "oh, no, those are not baby back." I told her the menu says baby back. She said "nowhere on the menu does it say baby back." I asked her to bring a menu and then I showed her where it clearly states baby back. She said, "oh, I learned something new". I then asked to see the owner, Orlando. He refused to come. The waitress said he was busy working the bar so I went to see him (since he didn't have the simple customer service courtesy of coming to see me at my table). I told him that I wasn't looking for a free meal but I thought he could do something (like 1/2 off my meal, a free appetizer, anything; I would have been happy with an apology). I told him that he is buying spare ribs because they are cheaper and trying to pass them off as baby back and this is false advertising. He didn't say a word. Busted.

Don't get me wrong, we love Mexican food, but nothing can beat our TexMex! Beware they are open 7 days a week for the holidays until 5 Jan. They open at 4:30. When you come in, it's beautifully decorated for Christmas! They have a fire burning where you can wait and not definitely had a rustic feel to it! They sat us next to the fire which was really nice for it being cold outside. Our server was very attentive, nice and knowledgeable. The menus were pretty spiffy too as it looked like an old newspaper clipping! They had a variety of steak and also had different animal options like elk & bison. The prices were a bit steep but given the quality and how well they executed the meal, I would say it was well worth it! You are offered a pretzel like bread with butter while ordering. Our waiter was on it and he continued to fill our drinks before we could even ask for more! What we ordered: - Bison ribeye (medium+): this was a gem! If you've never had bison before, don't get scared! It tastes just like cow only it's better for you! The cook was perfection and the seasoning on point! My 13 year old ordered it and devoured it! He had initially asked for A1 sauce but because it was flavored so well, opted not to use it. He said it was one of the best steaks he has ever had! - Ground Elks (medium) w/ chile and grilled onions: it comes dry but our waiter suggested adding green chile and onions to it (beware that's an $11 up charge). It was flavored well, cooked well and tasted amazing. My husband never had elk and said it was really good. Tasted just like ground beef with just a hint of something different. - 12 oz New York sirloin (medium): cooked to perfection, seasoned perfectly and topped it with a garlic/butter compound. My daughter, who rarely eats anything more than a 3oz, ate more than half because she liked it that much. - 10oz ribeye (medium): cooked and flavored to perfection again!! On top of that, it was so tender and melted like butter in my mouth! It was so smooth, and just an amazing quality I hadn't had in such a long time. While ribeye comes fatty, this was utter perfection! I typically only eat about 4-5 oz, but ate the entire thing! If we decide to come back to this area, we will definitely stop here! If you want a good steak, go here!!!

We had an outstanding dinner at Market Steer Steakhouse while vacationing in New Mexico. From start…read moreto finish, both the food and service were exceptional--an easy 5-star experience. The restaurant itself is beautiful. We loved the interior décor, the comfortable seating, and the warm, romantic atmosphere. There was plenty of seating, and the full bar offered an impressive selection of cocktails, wine, and spirits, making it a great place to enjoy a drink before or during dinner. We started with the Seasonal Shrub, a refreshing watermelon-cucumber soda, and a perfectly balanced Hugo Spritz with elderflower, ginger, lemon, mint, and tonic. The Tuna Tartare was incredibly fresh, the Street Corn Velouté was rich and creative with red chile popcorn and lime crema, and the Seared Crab Cake was packed with crab and cooked beautifully. For our entrées, the Prime Filet Mignon and Cowboy Ribeye were both cooked to perfection and paired wonderfully with whipped potatoes, peppercorn demi, and sautéed asparagus. The Roasted Chicken was just as impressive--juicy and flavorful with confit potatoes, bacon, mushrooms, and a rich chicken jus. We finished with two fantastic desserts. The Bourbon Pecan Bread Pudding with salted caramel was warm, decadent, and unforgettable, while the Berries n' Cream with pistachio crumble was light, fresh, and the perfect ending to the meal. Market Steer Steakhouse exceeded our expectations in every way. The quality of the food, attention to detail, warm hospitality, beautiful ambiance, and impeccable service made this one of the best dining experiences of our trip. We would absolutely return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting New Mexico.
