Great food and the curbside delivery is great for their employees. The green beans and Brussels sprouts are necessary starters.

Great sushi, love their mojitos and their zigzag handroll is my FAVORITE sushi item of all time. It's just really expensive and always packed.. we've gone there on a weeknight when it's a 20 minute wait JUST to put your name on the waiting list... considering how there is usually a wait and how expensive it is, there are other great sushi options near us that are a bit cheaper and almost never have a wait. (Although, there is only one other sushi place we like in Davis, so if you specifically want a place in Davis then Mikunis might be your best bet) so 4 stars because food will never disappoint. Great selection, but a little over priced. The lunch options did not include soup, salad, or egg rolls.

Good food and nice atmosphere. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the weather and that was great. We did their dinner for two and added the Benjamin roll (which was delicious) all the dishes were good but we didn't try the desert because we were too full. Waiter service could be improved but they were all very nice just perhaps too busy. read more

Mikuni is the most expensive sushi restaurant in Davis, but the cheaper all-you-can-eat places can't touch the quality of Mikuni fish. I now spend the cash and eat out less often. It's worth it. I like Rainbow, 911, Pimp My Roll and sometimes Incredible Roll. Zen Toro is another quality Davis Sushi restaurant. 5 stars to offset some ridiculously low ratings. read more

This place is really good and the service is very friendly. I highly recommend Mikuni. The fish quality is about the best you will find in Davis! I don't eat many rolls with a lot of sauce, but that stuff is good here too if you're into that. I mostly get good quality sashimi and nigiri. Try the different fish they have on the specials board. They are always really good and different than just your everyday tuna and salmon. I also recommend eating at the sushi bar and having the chefs make you some custom dishes. Just tell them what kind of fish you like, tell them if you like spicy, and whatever food preferences you have. They will make you a great dish! The other dishes listed in the large plates section of the menu are super tasty also! Try the pepper fin, sea steak (seared tuna), the black and white, and the hokkaido scallops, and musolino pasta. read more

Food has the ability to create memories. Mikunis dinner for two had a lot of choices to choose from that could cause some indecision....but all the choices are fantastic so pick away and remember the sushi slowly serenading your taste buds. Overall not terrible but not great either. I've ordered ramen twice and both times it took forever to get it. It took so long almost everyone else I was with finished their food before I even got mine. Also, the stir fry vegetable in the bento box lunch was basically just onions with little bits of some green vegetables. read more

Good Japanese fare. The menu is roll heavy and they cater to a fan base that prefers to overpower the fish with lots and lots and lots of flavorful toppers on all of their rolls. It's actually quiet good, but not your classic sashimi type spot. Feels very Americanized as far as sushi restaurants go. That being said, it's still pretty darn good. read more

My daughter is attending UC Davis and we were looking for a quality Sushi Restaurant and Mikuni is it! Clean fast moving atmosphere restaurant with excellent sushi and excellent staff. Was crowded for lunch but we sat at bar and only waited maybe 10 minutes to be seated. Prices are on the little higher end but so worth it! Looking forward to taking my husband here. read more

I probably came on a bad day because the sushi I ordered wasn't fresh. Nothing I ordered was fresh actually. I ordered Salmon don and a Philadelphia roll. My friends ordered chicken teriyaki bentos with California rolls. The bentos did not come with miso soup but came out right away. My friends waited for my food to come before eating but it just took too long so I let my friends eat. When my order came out the salmon was falling apart and it had soft consistency suggesting that was frozen before, not fresh at all. Really didn't like my experience but our waiter was super sweet and understanding. read more

I finally tried Mikuni with friends who took me for my birthday after raving about the sushi for about a year, it should be noted we made the drive from concord to Davis just to eat here. I was totally converted and wish they had a location closer! Best sushi menu I've eaten from...they have a huge variety. Menu includes some very unique rolls and plenty of sashimi style dishes with amazing sauces which is my personal favorite and hard to find at a lot of sushi restaurants. Very good restaurant. Even though this is in Davis where expected quality is less than real cities, they are excellent. The platter places are very good deal and this is the only time I really felt full in a Sushi place. They charges for their soup which is usually free (only $1) and it was worth the price. I am spoiled because I have has sushi in SF, Tokyo, and London(yes, London has amazing Sushi!). Mikuni is has great service and capable chefs. Their menu is big, and the servers are very helpful in suggesting ideas...although they do suggest the most expensive items. The fish is frozen and they hold on to a few days. The sauces are sweet and savory, which is why it tastes good. The miso soup is good...and soybeans are served salty. The best Sushi place in Davis. 4 stars, because Nobu is my baseline....not bad! read more

Definitely good selection of sushi rolls. Came here recently with my family and they had a 5 course meal for 2 which filled my starving self and my dad up for a reasonable price. I think it was ~ $40. Service was great for a Sunday afternoon. I would recommend here or Zen Toro for anyone who wants a Davis sushi experience that doesn't want to go all you can eat at Fuji's or Davis' Sushi Buffett. read more

Small portions, high prices and decent sushi. For the money, you'd expect more food. The sushi was pretty good but nothing to rave about.

Excellent cocktails. Although they have a huge number of sushi choices, the fish was very average quality and at the wasabi was very weak. It's obviously a happening spot, with a very "energetic vibe" but that didn't make up for the average quality. read more

Mikuni's is a decent sushi place. I bought one of there sushi platters which was kinda expensive for the small amount. The sushi was good but it was anything special, especially considering the slightly high price tag. The service was good and the waiters were friendly. I'd probably go again in the future read more

The food was good but the service was not. What should have been a one hour meal took two. Everything was incredibly slow - like dramatically slow - and the servers were unapologetic. Meals were forgotten, my friend had to ask for water three times before getting any and neither of ours was ever refilled in the two hours we sat there. We got food 10 minutes before rice, and had to ask for it. Dessert was forgotten about. It was just unpleasant overall. The place was so disorganized and just more chaotic than it should have been. read more

We love this place and are regulars. Our usual order is: bbq tuna appetizer, miso, sunomono, bob's roll, pimp my roll and whatever craft beer they have seasonally (one of the few places to have Pliny regularly). The only complaint I have with this place is that it is ALWAYS packed; so get their earlier than you plan to eat and plan accordingly. read more

Mikunis at Northstar Village Incline CA....Excellent Sushi, and surroundings. Great place to eat after a long day on the snow, or hanging out after a long day at the condo playing all day.
