This place is not all you can eat. This place does not do poke. This place does not serve boba take and popcorn chicken. And this place is not cheap. That is exactly why you come here for a birthday dinner for the waifu. Bc only this place is deserving of the waifu. If you want to make your wife get high quality sashimi, then come for the sashimi salad and the chirashi. It's enough for you the waifu and the annoying child who wants to try sashimi but does not actually eat it. It's also got bentos for the kid who doesn't eat sushi. The huku ramen is just ok. That may be the only item that isn't worth it. But everything is! We came for a birthday dinner so Huku was nice enough to give us a birthday dessert. I don't come here often enough. But when I do, I don't leave disappointed! Thank you for another amazing dinner Huku. It's prolly the number 1 sushi/japanese restaurant in Davis! Come here and bring the smoke if you disagree.

Some of the freshest sushi, great service, quiet low lit atmosphere. I will be going back regularly

definitely pricey but everything is extremely high quality. the sashimi is so fresh and up there in quality. the bento box also came with things i had never seen in a bento box before

I love love loveee the sunshine roll here. The service is always great when I come here. Keep in mind-it can get quite busy and there may be a bit of a wait.

This is my go to for Japanese in Davis. The service is always quick and friendly, even when the robot brings your food out! Fish is always fresh and well prepared. I love their bento box - it is a feast!

I adore this place. The sushi is always fantastic. Great serving sizes, thoughtful and beautiful presentations, and absolutely delicious. This trip, the two standouts were the Rainbow Roll (my usual go to) and a special roll, Crunchy Firecracker, which had the bottom of the rolls rice crisped and crunchy. It was so tasty and unique! Service is always friendly and welcoming. Great serving staff. There is plenty of seating, too, so waits are minimal. My daughter also loves watching the robot preceed the servers in delivering did to the tables. It makes for a fun evening out.

In a nutshell; Really good Japanese food, good atmosphere, and great experience overall. Located in a plaza with plenty of parking spaces and other establishments to check out, so parking shouldn't be an issue. Plenty of seats, tables, and booths to be seated at. Service was excellent. Lots of various food items /sushi etc. To choose from on their menu. Ambience is great, lots of neat displays and art on the walls to admire while waiting for your food. Overall very pleasant experience do mind it is a rather nice establishment so be ready to dish out more of your budget than usual.

This place has seemed to have gotten worse. I've been here once last year and since then prices have substantially increased while dishes have decreased a bit in quality. Still the best quality sushi dishes in/around Davis, but wouldn't come back at these prices. 3 item bento is now $36. That is crazy. In a upscale place in the Bay, it'll be like $25. The salmon teriyaki was bigger than expected, but still. Came with little sides, such as creamy sweet potato mash and plantain chips, but was a bit off in the details. Chips were stale, teriyaki sauce was extremely thick and tasted like BBQ lays chips. Miso soup that came with it had 2 of the smallest cubes of tofu, was pretty salty and sweet. Carrots that came in the side salad tasted like they had sat a while. Salmon skin roll was quite good, well fried crunchy skin, but $14 compared to closer to $11 at most other places. The restaurant itself is still beautifully decorated, but it seems people have stopped coming as it was quite empty. Change of ownership?

Food is amazing here. Definitely a little pricey but worth every penny because the quality is unparalleled. I got a sashimi platter which is nicely curated by the chef. The presentation is beautiful and the fish is so fresh. For main, I have three sets of nigiris. Hotate, scallops, is so tender and sweet. Ankimo, monkfish liver, is creamy and flavorful. Tamago, egg, is savory and sweet. Everything was delicious! Their rolls and other entrees are delicious as well. I love coming here for a sushi treat dinner.

Amazing sushi. Highly recommend getting a bunch of different nigiri, they come with two pieces each. Literally melts in your mouth. The deadliest catch roll was soooo good. The spicy tuna flavor is great and all the fish inside too. Come with a reservation because it can get busy. The service is prompt and they are very nice! Ambience is peaceful and welcoming.

Just look at the photos... enough said! But for those that need actual words... There was a coupon for $10 off $60 or $20 off $90 in the weekly mailer and so my bf and I decided to check this place out for our monthiversary. Came around 3PM on a weekday. Not busy at all. Very cozy, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. We were seated right away and within 5-10 minutes our orders were taken. We wanted to splurge so we ordered a dozen oysters that were already topped with things ($30), 2 miso soups ($2.50 each), a Lion King roll, a Blooming roll ($19) and a Sunshine roll ($18?). Everything came out so fast! First the miso, then the oysters, then all the rolls. My boyfriend really liked the Lion King roll. It's flavorful but I don't care much for baked rolls. My favorite was the Blooming roll followed by the Sunshine. Packed with so much flavor, beautifully plated, and a good portion. I don't think I even properly chewed my food because it was that good, I was just scarfing it all down. Everything came out to over $90, but with the coupon it was brought down to about $75. Would absolutely return here. My only gripe is that the rolls are crazy expensive. Still a great treat though, and soo close to where I live.

First time dining here with the fam driving from Elk Grove, and with the recommendation from an aspiring soon-to-be med student who joined us as well, I must say the dining experience was second to none. I rarely post reviews, but I felt obligated to share our collective thoughts. The attentiveness of the servers, the presentation, quality and quantity of the food was on point. Ordered were karaage as an appetizer, bento boxes, udon soup, rolls (Thunder and Summer) and a coupe of rice bowls (Oyakudon and Katsudon). The table couldn't stop gawking the entire time! Great food, great time...we will return!

The service is always excellent here. My boyfriend and I drive over 30 mins to come and eat here. It's an amazing sushi spot with delicious items. Inside is very spacious and clean. We always order oysters from here because it's absolutely delicious. The sushi rolls are so fresh and nigiri melts in your mouth.

Tuna ball as well as some rolls.

I sat at the sushi bar. It took quite a long time for someone to come over and take my order. And it also took a little while for my sushi and sashimis to come out. One thing that grosses me out a little bit is that my soy sauce dish is oily. But I can't wave anyone down so I used it anyways.. The sashimis are fresh. And they give really big pieces too so it is great value. The Madai sashimi still have scales on them tho that was a little surprising in texture. The nigiris are in massive pieces. Which again I appreciate the value. However, the uni was visibly dark in color in some piece. I thought it might be a regional character (cuz uni from different place can have different colors). But upon first bite it tasted a little stinky which is not how it's supposed to taste. To be honest, I would rather have less uni and smaller nigiri if I can just have fresh fish. When eating raw fish freshness is a huge priority. This dinning experience too way longer than expected. And I'm very disappointed in the freshness of an expensive ingredient. I do hope they improve and succeed as it's been in Davis for so long.

Didn't get to try much sushi or raw fish. Service: Don't feel like I can give a fair rating because most small-scale Asian restaurants like these have a different service culture than the typical "American" restaurant. No complaints. They were respectful. Ambiance 2/5: It's a pretty run-down restaurant. It's a very cramped and narrow building with tattered seats. Chairs were stacked up in the middle of the eating area. Since then, the former sake bar has been removed as part of the restaurant's evolution into a full-fledged shokudo concept. We both got the Delilah's Style which has seaweed salad, cucumbers, surimi crab, wonton chips, edamame, mangoes, massago, furikake and unagi sauce. If you like it spicy, I would get the Tropical Style with spicy mayo. Ahi and Salmon were fresh with mild (but tasty) seasoning that's not too much that you can still taste the fish. It's honestly the first place that comes to mind when I think about sushi, no question. And just to put it in perspective, I literally drive here all the way from Sacramento. What can I say about the sushi? It's absolutely incredible. Today I tried a new spicy shrimp roll. I don't exactly remember the name, but wow, it was so good. Overall, your sushi is just 10/10. I also noticed you've added drinks since the last time I was here. It's been a while, so I didn't know about that, but I love it. I'm really into drinks like that. And they look just as perfect in real life as they do in pictures. Another 10/10. The only small thing I'd maybe suggest is working a little bit on the interior. But honestly, the atmosphere is still great. It really gives that cozy, homey vibe with a nice touch of Asian culture. I've been coming here since back when Davis Sushi & Fusion was in downtown Davis, and I'm genuinely so happy to see you growing. Your menu is much bigger now, and that's really cool to see. I wish you all the best. Places like this definitely deserve to be everywhere. By the way, I'm originally from Ukraine, but I absolutely love Asian cuisine. It's honestly a hundred times better than any fast food. Customer service: 10/10 Everyone is super friendly, open, and just genuinely nice people. ^~^

We ordered the Banana Pudding Matcha & Banana Pudding Vietnamese Coffee. After approx. about 20 minutes to get our drinks. Both drinks were served with scoops of banana pudding on top. They had the perfect lids. They were open so you could spoon the banana pudding or use a straw. My daughter absolutely LOVED her matcha. Unfortunately I found my Vietnamese coffee a little underwhelming. The coffee wasn't the usual strong, full of flavor Vietnamese coffee is used to but the banana pudding was delish.

Service was nice, the staff are always very attentive and quick. This is a place that is casual, and I've come here with a huge group before. Anyways, here's my must have list: - King Kong roll - salmon nigiri (lunch) - miso soup - cream cheese wonton

Every single specialty roll is the same thing but only a small difference. They are all packed with very cheap imitation crab. The pieces are so large and too much rice and so so salty. I felt overwhelmed after my first roll and desperately tried edamame and a handroll to at least feel like I am getting my money's worth. Even the handroll had too much rice. But the nail in the coffin for me was the included gratuity on the check for 15%. I was actually going to already give a 20% which I normally do for dinner services, but since I saw tip forcefully included, I was so turned off I just thought that's it, that's what they expect so that's what they get. I am not gonna come back, but I don't think it's THE WORST I guess? Think of it kinda like the taco bell of sushi restaurants. Everything on the menu is a variation on the same base ingredients just assembled slightly differently. And like, why go to taco bell at this point when taquerias have a better deal for the price? But sometimes you still find yourself at taco bell for some reason lol so that's how I feel about this place...

They actually took the time to explain the dishes, where certain ingredients came from, why they pair flavors a certain way, and how everything was prepared. I also loved the ambiance. It felt intimate and had the traditional Omakase feel that made the entire experience feel even more personal. You can tell there's real passion behind what they do. Everything felt thoughtful and intentional, and the chefs and staff were so welcoming the entire time. It honestly felt like an adventure and something different from a typical dinner experience. I left feeling like I got to experience the story behind the food, not just the meal.

The omakase felt really thoughtful from start to finish, with each course carefully paced and beautifully presented. You can tell the chef puts a lot of intention into every bite. The fish was incredibly fresh--everything melted in your mouth--and there was a great balance of flavors throughout the meal. Some pieces were simple and clean, while others had unique touches that made them stand out without being overpowering. The atmosphere was intimate and calm, which made it perfect for really enjoying the experience. Sitting at the counter and watching the chef prepare each dish added a special touch. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a high quality omakase restaurant in town .
