I absolutely love this coffee shop. The vibe is relaxed. The setting is comfortable. The coffee is great, the sweet treats are even better, and we love the sandwiches and most recently that breakfast burrito. Everything is so reasonably priced. It's incredible. An example would be this breakfast burrito for $3.50. My husband and I split the sandwiches and it makes a great lunch. If you're in a hurry this may not be your place as it's gonna take a minute to get your stuff. The service was top notch - service with a smile, and the young lady behind the counter helped me out without rushing, and she just made me feel like they were happy I was there. It was a great feeling. The place was packed with all kinds of people which was so beautiful, but packed in a way that made you want to hang out and be part of the vibe. They had just put out fresh pastries, and the cheese danish spoke to me. Y'all, this thing was light, fluffy and dense in all the right places. I also ordered the Atomic Coffee. My new reference standard for independent coffee houses! Ever since the Epic Cafe in Tucson changed hands multiple times, I have been looking for another epic coffee house. I think I have found it. Excellent coffee, they roast their own beans in house, great service, great food and baked goods, lots of places to sit and do work, great coffee house vibe. Also, being close to NMSU, the scenery is amazing. ;) I recently was driving through Las Cruces and needed coffee. Was about to go to a Starbucks, when I decided to search for coffee in Yelp and found this place. Stopped here and had a dirty chai and a cinnamon bun, both were excellent. Went back to the counter and ordered a BLT on a bagel to go. The sandwich was HUGE, and loaded. Super tasty! One a funny note, there were two guys sitting next to me working on old school electric typewriters. A family walked in with a couple of kids. An about 10-12 year old boy could not peel his eyes off the guys with the typewriters! LOL! I imagine that was the first time he had ever seen one. Anyhow, I feel confident in giving this place the coveted fifth star on the first visit, and I will definitely be back the next time I am in Las Cruces! read more

Milagro was recommended by friends because the crowd is cool--old hippies, academics, college students. But it was very busy at 10:30 am on Friday, and it took (not exaggerating) 25 minutes to have a plain breakfast tea made for me. By then my daughter and I had eaten the pastry and we were long past ready to go. Servers didn't acknowledge the long wait and weren't very friendly in general. The tea was not very hot--not sure how you mess up tea, but they managed. And we weren't the only ones waiting a long time for drinks. Please staff your cafe properly. Our first visit was our last. We came here to try the green chili bagel because hey, when in New Mexico, everything is better with green chilis! Then I found out they offer green chili cream cheese! Taste explosion planned for breakfast! I got a bag of bagels and 8 ounces of cream cheese! We are set for the weekend! But then, the coffee! They have beans from basically every coffee producing country! Who does that!? This was new to me! I asked what they were using for espresso and it's a in house roasted combination of Ethiopian and Sumatran! To say I was enthusiastic to try a new unique blend would be an understatement! The espresso had a nice crema and was both smooth and creamy! I totally enjoyed it! My wonderful wife made a superior choice! An espresso milkshake! The mix of espresso and ice cream was fantastically delicious and decadent! Plus, it was like $3. Everything in southern New Mexico and nearby El Paso, Tx is incredibly inexpensive! *Finally* got to go here. This place gets way packed. It is pretty big but it seems to be inundated with Bible study groups and college kids/professionals that set up for the long haul. We came once at 11 on a weekday and had to leave because there was nowhere to sit. Everything we ordered here was simply incredible. The cappuccino was perfect, loved the beans so much we picked up a bag of the espresso (that particular one isn't on the shelf, but they will bag it for you). They roast their own beans. The bagels are amazing- very large and chewy. My fave was the green chili. Don't bother at all with the cinnamon one, it's nothing like the Panera one- it's simply cinnamon dusted on a plain bagel, no sugar. And I recommend getting the cream cheese on the *side* - if you're weird about textures like me. It's way way too much cream cheese. The almond croissant is one of the best pastries I've ever had. Super crispy crust, tons of almond paste inside, perfectly toasted almonds on top. And the cinnamon rolls are definitely worth it. Cinnamon rolls are my husband's favorite thing. He liked it so much he went back by himself the next day to pick up another one (and more bagels to go). Now I took off a star for ambience. There's these horrible red couches that are completely destroyed, I would never sit there. The chairs are all mismatched and anything with a cushion is torn. It has a pretty dark long corridor feeling like an alley way. Very strange artwork on the walls, including some graffiti in the bathroom. Couldn't figure out if it was intentional or not. When it's your first time in certain places it seems overwhelming cuz the person taking your order just wants to know what you want and don't dilly dally. We wanted two bacon breakfast burritos but she said they only had one. So we got one chorizo. They were quite small and nothing special but good. Wow! What great tasting coffee lattes Milagro makes. On a visit to Las Cruces, Google maps steered me to a diner (in the same shopping center) instead of Milagro. I made the mistake of buying an overpriced cup of awful coffee from that diner but, after tasting it, I discarded the full cup and did another Google search. I'm so glad I did! Google maps showed me that Milagro was nearby. I went there and the very friendly people took my order and got me a fabulous tasting coffee latte. It was superb and so was the price. I hope to be traveling through Las Cruces again in the future and when I do, I'll go out of my way to savor another latte at Milagro. read more

Went last Friday, food and drink were so so, but the service was excellent. Gentleman at the register was patient and kind with those ordering in front of us. I liked that he was nice to the children ordering. We ordered a chicken sandwich and some kind of hummus on bread. The hummus joint was top notch, the sandwich was deli meat and could have been made at home. The amberini we ordered was very good. There were a couple of other customers there so I could tell the servers were overwhelmed but they kept confusing our orders. We asked for a lox bagel, they had run out of lox cream cheese and they forgot all the toppings (capers tomatoes onions). We let them know it wasn't what we had ordered and the first server told us they would make a new bagel and then another server came out with all the toppings just wrapped in tin foil, not a new bagel. I just paid $21 dollars for 6 bagels and two 8 oz of cream cheese. I believe I was rung up incorrectly and that the to go woman and her manager (balding man) working on 5/30 around 11 am. I over heard them talking and the overcharge was intentional (the balding man 's response to the woman made her pause and he had to reinforce it). When I asked for an itemized receipt, the receipt was unintelligible (all items listed as numbers). I suspect the charged me for 6 lox and bagel and in addition to the two 8oz cream cheeses even though all I wanted was 6 bagels and two 8oz cream cheese. I could not figure out how to speak with the owner from their website. In other words, make sure you know how much things are stated to cost and make sure you hawkeye the help. read more

Our son will be attending NMSU and I am the first to admit that I'm picky about coffee. We were staying at Hilltop Hacienda and the owners recommended this place. So thankful they did!! I love supporting local business! We walked in to find a table full of locals and that's always a good sign. The pastries in the case were overwhelming and we wanted one of each. We went with a sampling and coffees and tea. I have been all over the world and I can easily say this was the best latte I've ever had. The roast was spot on and perfectly crafted. The Chai tea was also delicious and the perfect level of sweet and spice. The cinnamon roll was out of this world and my sons crepe was perfect.
