My companion had the Belgian waffles (I'm not sure which item, specifically) and it was like a dessert plate with all the whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Also very good. I'm sure there's a reason for this, but every time I've been here for breakfast or brunch there's always a bunch of empty tables and people waiting to be seated, but the staff act like it's a full house. When we arrived there was nobody else waiting and yet we had to wait about 5 minutes for the staff to "set a table" for us. When we were seated there were at least six empty tables already set. When we left about 45 minutes later, a lot of previously occupied tables still had dirty dishes on them (but not all of them), and nobody was cleaning them up. Just like when we got here, there were lots of tables ready to go and yet the lobby was full of people waiting to be seated and even more people waiting outside.

When I visit I keep looking for a new great breakfast spot with a nice relaxed feel, great service, good food and, of course, a killer green chile sauce! Today I tried Weck's for the first time. I am now whole again. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by friendly staff and seated in the bright and inviting dining room. Our waiter, Cam, was super friendly and helpful. I ordered a breakfast burrito with the green chile sauce on top and my daughter had French toast with eggs and sausage. As I looked around at other patrons around me the food looked and smelled wonderful. Everyone went silent as soon as their food arrived, happily devouring their meals. When our food arrived we had the same experience! I took a little taste and couldn't stop (which is why my photo is of a half eaten burrito! ). The order came with two large pancakes, delicious but I wasn't able to finish them. Nayeli offered me if I wanted more syrup, I accepted and she brought me another little cup. In the past dining the servers brought us the check but never cleared one single dirty dishes. This is because they have a busser who cleans the table after the guests leave. Nayeli is the best, she cleared the table!

The experience was so good, we went back again on Sunday--our last night in town. That says everything. On Thursday, we had the salmon--exceptional, perfectly prepared, flavorful, and beautifully plated. On Sunday, we tried their steak and shrimp, which was equally outstanding. Both nights, the food was superb. But here's what really impressed me: I tried the beer tasting flight for the first time, and I actually liked every single beer. That's never happened to me before. Whoever curates their selection knows what they're doing. Our server, Gabe, was excellent -- attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. He made both visits feel special. Pecan Grill and Brewery delivers on every level: outstanding food, exceptional beer selection, and hospitality that makes you want to come back. If you're in Las Cruces, this place is a must-visit. For dessert, the creme brulee bombo was unlike anything I have had--an Italian puffed donut filled with cream, but this cream was bruleed on top with a thick, crisp layer like creme brulee, so it was like having two desserts in one.
