Thank you to Buddy for being such a good guide & great guy!

Awesome time had by all. Thanks so much to Buddy for being a great tour guide & super cool guy as well. We started out our 10 day road trip vacation here & had a blast!

This was such a fun experience! We did the 3 hour tour from Zion out to Gooseberry Mesa. We had my 7 and 10 year old with us and they loved it! It was a little chilly to start the day, so dress accordingly. Dylan was our guide and he made us feel safe and comfortable.

What a morning. We followed them to our starting point in our own vehicle. They provided sun glasses and bandana and off we went. It was a great adventure... Lots of climbing up and down rocks, lots of stops to take in the beauty and for pictures. Buddy was an incredible and knowledge guide.

This side by side tour far exceeded out expectations. Our guide was a long time resident and knew the area inside and out. He offered lots of great info about the geology of the area, and we learned so much. Thanks Mild to Wild for a great day exploring this beautiful area!

What a fun adventure! Scott was amazing, by far hear our request for Wild!!!!! He was amazing with our teen, who was eager to drive but has only had xbox driving experience, he had the patience of a saint while our teen was hitting trees while he grasped the concept, and by the end he was doing great! Scott was a wealth of knowledge when it came to the canyons, site seeing spots, nature, and places to visit! He was so personable he really made our adventure amazing! Rock crawling in the UTV wAs awesome!!!! We weren't sure what to expect, but mild to wild exceeded our expectations & we cant say enough about how much fun we had! A must do for anyone visiting Utah! The spots Scott took us too try took our breath away! Hands down a highlight of our journey!!!

Had an awesome ATV tour with Buddy. Everyone had a turn to drive. We saw some amazing sites around Zion, and even walked to some great views of the valley. Buddy was a walking encyclopedia about the history, the landscape, and even local dining experience for visitors like us. He even made sure we got some memorable pics of the tour. We got our moneys worth!!! I'd do this again. Thanks Buddy!!!

My wife and I just returned from a vacation to Zion National Park. We did a four hour ATV ride with Buddy at the wheel. His knowledge of the area and the beautiful Smithsonian Butte area he took us through is a must if you are looking for an experience the normal park visitor will never have. The views he took us to were amazing! One of the highlights was going to the top of the butte where we had an incredible 360 degree view. Buddy concluded the ride by taking us to see 800 year-old Indian petroglyphs carved in the rock. We highly recommend Buddy, Susan and their Rhino tours!

This review has been long overdue. My GF and I took this tour last year while in Zion. We were kinda skeptic about booking a tour, since most tours now a days are very slow and boring. We are very active thrill seekers and don't like the "touristy" kinda of tours. We were not disappointed with this one. "Buddy" was a great guide and gave us an amazing tour full of thrills, dirt, speed and beautiful sceneries. We highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking a good adventure. We will always book this tour every time we are in Zion and so should you!

Compared to similar tours we have taken in the past the vehicles were cleaner, more comfortable, and apparently better maintained. Be aware that the tour does not actually take you through the Zion park and instead goes around the outskirts. We asked about this specifically at booking and it was not made clear, although once on-site Joel explained that none of the excursions were able to enter the park. This being said, it is what it is, and we had a very good time with some spectacular vistas.

This is not that your: upon meeting Dave he never asked a person in our group their name although he did ask the youngest member (early 30 female) if she had a boyfriend or husband and if she wanted one. There is a $30 mandatory cash tip added to the total of the jeep trip that is asked for immediately upon entering the jeep and going in Dave's (who is the owner ) pocket. The trip consisted of a four hour long stream on consciousness about how the Mormon religion is based on lies, his alcoholic and drug addicted family, how his sister killed his mom, how he was adopted, his two autistic sons, his "retarded" best friend who stole his wife's gun, and his current wife that is his 2cd, 3rd, and 4th wife. A few names of plants were dotted into the guided tour before we learned about aliens and other things in the universe. He made inappropriate jokes about other tour companies and doing drugs, seeing naked woman sun bathing, among endless other comments. The view from the top of Smithsonian Butte was beautiful, but not worth it. This tour was the worst part of the trip.

If you stay at the Zion National Park Lodge, you can drive down a little further after entering a gate code, but you can't proceed down past the lodge. Therefore, if you want to enjoy the drive to its fullest, I would recommend biking in (unless you want to walk the entire length). My opinion is that the shuttle has enough stops to let you off at, and that the park is so scenic, that taking the shuttle will take you 99% of the way there for the full experience of the drive. This is a great way to experience Zion if you have mobility issues or don't want to hike.

Even though…read moreyou're not driving yourself during shuttle season, the shuttle ride itself feels like part of the experience. I started at the Zion Canyon Visitor Center over the 4th of July weekend, which is shuttle stop #1, and took the shuttle all the way through the canyon. The full route goes from the Visitor Center to Temple of Sinawava, stop #9, and it takes about 45 minutes one way if you ride it straight through. Round trip, it's about an hour and a half, but I'd definitely give yourself more time if you plan on getting off at different stops. The views along the drive are beautiful the entire way. You're just sitting there looking up at these huge canyon walls, cliffs, trees, and the Virgin River, and it really gives you a sense of how massive Zion is. Even if you don't hike every trail, riding the shuttle through the canyon is worth doing. The shuttle stops are: Stop #1: Zion Canyon Visitor Center Stop #2: Zion Human History Museum Stop #3: Canyon Junction Stop #4: Court of the Patriarchs Stop #5: Zion Lodge Stop #6: The Grotto Stop #7: Weeping Rock Stop #8: Big Bend Stop #9: Temple of Sinawava One thing to know ahead of time is that a few stops are only made on the way back down the canyon. The Museum, Canyon Junction, and Big Bend are down canyon only, so you can't board there going up toward Temple of Sinawava. That part can be a little confusing at first. I actually liked being able to hop on and off without worrying about parking at each trailhead. It makes the day feel less stressful, especially since Zion can get so busy. Temple of Sinawava was a great final stop, and from there you can access Riverside Walk and head toward The Narrows. Zion Canyon Scenic Drive is a must do if you're visiting the park. The shuttle is easy to use, the scenery is incredible, and it's a great way to see the canyon whether you're hiking or just taking in the views.

Kolob Canyons is a very pretty area, but less developed than Zion Canyon. Anyway, Zion has steep and sheer cliffs that leave you breathless. It also has a river and swampland, as well as emerald pools and waterfalls. It is so varied in its landscape, I really can't compare it to anything else. I hiked a whole bunch here: Angel's Landing, Emerald Pools, Weeping Rock, Riverside Walk, Canyon Overlook, even a bit of the Narrows. I want to do a through hike of the Narrows next time - I didn't have enough time in my schedule this time unfortunately. I saw more wildlife than expected too. I think a lot of the animals are habituated to humans, and aren't frightened at all. I also love how well run the shuttle system is. The bus drivers will radio to each other if there's a long line at any stop, and they will send an empty bus there to help avoid extended waits. It's so thoughtful. I stayed in the Zion Lodge, but I'm sure that the gateway town of Springdale has a similarly efficiently run shuttle system as well.

This visit arrived with 2 nights reserved at south campground $70. Entered park gate for $35. We get to the campground and the first thing we see "no fires" sign....it would of been nice to see that on the website before reserving, glad I brought steaks/pork/fish to grill... Woke up early before sunrise and headed straight for the trails of Zion, only to arrive at a gate with a code box reading "reservations only" ......huh?? Either this gate was never there before or it was always open, in all of my visits in the past. So I drove back to the entrance gate to ask if the trails were available. I simply ask the lady at the front gate "hi are the trails available to hike?" She replies in a very assertive voice "did u get a map!?" Me "yes I did", gate lady "well if u read right here it says reservations only". I reply with oh is that gate new? I've come to this park many times in the past and have never had to stop there." Gate lady: "that gate has been there many years" ....i guess I was hallucinating all those years i did those trials and all these pictures of all the trials I've done in Zion are fake? Gatelady really made me feel warm and welcome at Zion. We left as soon as we were done talking, I'll take the loss on my 2nd night at the campground, what are we supposed to do spend a whole day doing the "scenic route" a small driving only route jammed with traffic and lines. No thanks. I took time off work and my life to come out here to hike and enjoy nature, Zion was a waste of time and money will never be returning. Glad I got to enjoy the park before it became a tourist trap

Later, I encountered one of the previously mentioned shuttles with Utah license plate T32 1ZD driving aggressively. The driver came up behind me at a high rate of speed and began tailgating me. Unfortunately, the same shuttle continued following me toward Zion National Park. When it was safe to do so, I pulled over and allowed the shuttle to pass. The driver then accelerated away well above what I would consider a safe speed for the area and tailgated other vehicle. Speed limits exist for a reason, especially in and around a national park where there are winding roads, pedestrians, bicyclists, and wildlife. Driving 10+ mph over the speed limit and tailgating other vehicles creates an unnecessary safety risk for everyone on the road.
