    Dog friendly....even for a terrier

What? A dog-friendly jeep tour? They have it! We can't say enough good things about our experience! Adam was our guide and he was great! His knowledge of the area and willingness to tailor the experience to our needs was beyond expectations. This experience really added to our Zion vacation!

Highly recommend the Zion tour with Kevin. He guided our group of 4 ladies and made sure all had cold water and were comfortable navigating the trails while riding in the open air Jeep. We saw 360 degree views from all elevations with lots of facts about the area throughout the Jeep drive . Note, the tour goes through trails and off the beaten paths around the park, then the gates to go inside the park are near the pick-up and drop-off parking point. Tip- Make sure to Arrive early to find parking for your personal vehicle and your guide will pick you up at your parking location once you coordinate your parking spot. Parking is located in various parking lots around the area at about $20-$40 average for the day.

We booked the tour; three families, 6 adults and 7 children. the jeep I rode in did have heated seats, and we were each provided with a blanket (on January 1st it's pretty cold up there!). our drivers were Mark and Oliver. both were super friendly, good with the kids (lots of curious questions), and seemed to love what they do. the spot they drive us to gave us an amazing view and the sunset was spectacular. I'd enthusiastically go again!

Let me start by saying Kevin is amazing! He made it feel like the entire group of us were his old friends. My wife and I loved the entire experience from the friendly greeting to the excellent narration and the amazing views along the entire tour. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Zion area. We greatly enjoyed this tour because it was personable and no long lines or crowds. We rode in the white ford truck and it was comfortable. Also Kevin had lots of cold waters for us and offered to take photos at every stop. Zion Jeep Tours is a must do when you visit the area! P.S. don't forget to ask Kevin about Zoey.

We loved that Kevin would take pics of all of us!

Loved, Loved this relaxing tour while enjoying the beautiful Utah scenery. Kevin was great, insightful, funny and kind. The blankets were a plus since it was still cold at 5000 ft. The lady who helped us book this the same week for 6 made the entire experience easy.

We LOVED our time with Zion Jeep Tours. Our guide Kevin was AMAZING. There were BREATHTAKING views and Kevin was very knowledgeable about the mountain ranges, their meaning, and history. Thanks again Zion Jeep Tours; and, special shout out to Kevin, you ROCK my friend...pun intended :)

You can't go wrong when booking a tour with Zion Jeep Tours. Booking online was super easy. We were picked up for our private keep tour at our hotel, Springhill Suites. Our driver Andrew was very knowledgeable about the area. We had a great time with him. I recommend everyone visiting the area book a tour.

My group and I could not have been more impressed with the private shuttle service that Zion Jeep Tours provided us into the National Park. Not only was it convenient, on time, professional, and MUCH more comfortable than the park's shuttle service, but it ended up being informative, as well. Our driver, Julie, went above and beyond to make sure that we were prepared for our day in the park - she offered us water, restrooms, and hand sanitizer. She also advised us on the company's COVID-19 policies, as well as the National Park's guidelines - which included the possibility of needing masks at some point in the day if we entered any of their facilities. Since our group was mask-less, Julie gave us all masks to be prepared. Once we embarked on our trip into the park, we expected just a shuttle service but we got so much more! The entire drive from Springdale to the Temple of Sinawava was filled with fun historical facts and information about the park. We got off the shuttle even more excited for our adventure because we felt that we had a new personal connection with the park. And now, our entire group is excited to learn more about the history of the area. I will absolutely utilize Zion Jeep Tours again in the future - any time I visit Zion, to be quite honest. Can't wait to try a private Jeep Tour next!

July 7, 2022- We scheduled a 4:45 PM tour and arrived at the meeting point at 4:15 PM. Parking is available in the meeting place hotel parking lot. The hotel charges $30 for the use of their lot. Better to pay at the Kiosk (also in the parking lot) for $20. It's that way every where in Springdale.Within about 5 minutes, the 8 passenger Jeep (tiered seating in back) pulled up and our tour guide, Andrew, gathered our group up and gave us the outline of our tour. Since we were all there and ready we left at 4:30 PM which allowed us a few extra minutes to enjoy the tour. The next 3+ hours were filled with spectacular views (from the area outside the park), back road driving, historical facts galore all on a beautiful summer evening. Andrew filled us in on all the local stories, events, how things got named, rumors, legends and made it all interesting and understandable. The Jeep has a very good sound system so we could hear Andrew clearly throughout the tour. He could also hear us if we had a question or comment. Going this late in the day was a bonus for taking photos. Andrew was very good about avoiding dust on the back roads so we never got showered in dust (plus - they give you a balaclava souvenir scarf pull-over for extra protection) Andrew stopped twice so we could get out a see the major view lookouts to take photos. We were on the west side outside the main park and the sun, setting in the west, was shining directly on the peaks and valleys east of us. The color and clarity was excellent. The tour, which went a little more than 3 hours, seemed over in no time. It was a completely different perspective than the grandeur seen inside the park. Well worth the $$90 each. If you can request Andrew, it will be a treat, although I think all the guides are well trained to give great tours.

Kevin was incredible- kept us entertained and showed us some amazing sights! He is knowledgeable, friendly and was so much fun to spend the morning with! He even won over our surly teenager!!! Thanks for an awesome tour!

Compared to similar tours we have taken in the past the vehicles were cleaner, more comfortable, and apparently better maintained. Be aware that the tour does not actually take you through the Zion park and instead goes around the outskirts. We asked about this specifically at booking and it was not made clear, although once on-site Joel explained that none of the excursions were able to enter the park. This is not that your: upon meeting Dave he never asked a person in our group their name although he did ask the youngest member (early 30 female) if she had a boyfriend or husband and if she wanted one. There is a $30 mandatory cash tip added to the total of the jeep trip that is asked for immediately upon entering the jeep and going in Dave's (who is the owner ) pocket. The trip consisted of a four hour long stream on consciousness about how the Mormon religion is based on lies, his alcoholic and drug addicted family, how his sister killed his mom, how he was adopted, his two autistic sons, his "retarded" best friend who stole his wife's gun, and his current wife that is his 2cd, 3rd, and 4th wife. A few names of plants were dotted into the guided tour before we learned about aliens and other things in the universe. He made inappropriate jokes about other tour companies and doing drugs, seeing naked woman sun bathing, among endless other comments. The view from the top of Smithsonian Butte was beautiful, but not worth it. This tour was the worst part of the trip.

My friends and I did a weekend trip here, and got to do two hikes and stargaze. The Narrows: I've watched videos and did some research before the trip. Highly recommend getting the $35 hiking set with shoes, stick, and socks from Zion Outfitters. To get to the narrows, you'll take the shuttle to the last stop, and hike the Riverside Walk trail to the end. The Narrows goes pretty far, and there are no restrooms once you get off the shuttles. The hike is very rocky, and you're essentially in the water most of the time. The water is absolutely gorgeous, and I'd recommend starting as early as 8am! Water is very cold, and cools down throughout the day. There's no real "end" so you kind of keep going until you're ready to turn out. Our friends and I, medium-hikers, spent about 6 hours and walked 8 miles round trip. The hike is mostly shaded, and only very few parts of the water went up to about chest level. For reference, I'm 5 feet. I'd recommend spending a full day for this hike to really enjoy it and a relaxing pace. We also did the Watchman trail on a beautiful morning, and it was so cool getting to go from bottom to top of the mountains. The hike was approximately 3 miles and took us 3 hours with the inclines. We also got to see a sheep along the way! At night, we stargazed right by shuttle stop 2, aka the museum. Because it is nearly pitch black out there, you could see so many stars and constellations. I don't personally know any other than the big and small dippers, but it was really cool to check it out!

Kolob Canyons is a very pretty area, but less developed than Zion Canyon. Anyway, Zion has steep and sheer cliffs that leave you breathless. It also has a river and swampland, as well as emerald pools and waterfalls. It is so varied in its landscape, I really can't compare it to anything else. I hiked a whole bunch here: Angel's Landing, Emerald Pools, Weeping Rock, Riverside Walk, Canyon Overlook, even a bit of the Narrows. I want to do a through hike of the Narrows next time - I didn't have enough time in my schedule this time unfortunately. I saw more wildlife than expected too. I think a lot of the animals are habituated to humans, and aren't frightened at all. I also love how well run the shuttle system is. The bus drivers will radio to each other if there's a long line at any stop, and they will send an empty bus there to help avoid extended waits. It's so thoughtful. I stayed in the Zion Lodge, but I'm sure that the gateway town of Springdale has a similarly efficiently run shuttle system as well.

Unfortunately, the same shuttle continued following me toward Zion National Park. When it was safe to do so, I pulled over and allowed the shuttle to pass. The driver then accelerated away well above what I would consider a safe speed for the area and tailgated other vehicle. Speed limits exist for a reason, especially in and around a national park where there are winding roads, pedestrians, bicyclists, and wildlife. Driving 10+ mph over the speed limit and tailgating other vehicles creates an unnecessary safety risk for everyone on the road.
