We are on vacation in Vermont so how could we not hit up some ice cream joint. We went when it was a downpour but it definitely didn't take away from the service and tasty ice cream. They had a small barn with tables in it so you could sit inside and get out of the rain. They also have outside sliding benches you could enjoy during any time that it's not raining. They had more than ice cream; chili, chowder, hot dogs, etc and the prices are very reasonable and I would not hesitate to recommend this gem to anyone. However, I'm sure word of mouth has already spread and have repeat customers. Take a gander at the Country Store next door. I loved everything in there. So much vintage stuff....or I'm just old. Either way. We had a nice visit!!

Weston needed Mildred's - a fast, fun, low-key dining option. And yet another feather the the cap of the Orton Family Empire. In a good way, I think. Located behind the Bryant House (right on Rt. 100, to the right of the Vermont Country Store), Mildred's is the place to go for made-with-love fast food if you're not into the gourmet meat loaf and fine dining of Bryant House. Don't get me wrong, it's fine meat loaf, but Mildred's is quicker, cheaper, and more casual. Mildred's has your classic dogs, burgers, sandwiches, and ice cream. But it's so much more. The seating is 100% outside, enjoying the rockers, hammocks, Adirondack chairs, and lawn games of the Vermont Country Store next door. While it's meant to be a basic snack bar, they have daily specials, too. I LOVE daily specials. In addition, the design is adorable - the condiments, napkins, etc are situated on a beautiful old porch, under an awning, and on top of an antique and retro blue and white kitchen stove, which makes it an experience in addition to just a meal. If you're in the mood for an ice cream, burger, or other snack bar type food, Mildred's is the place to go. Really - it's the only place in tiny Weston that serves this type of food at this price point. But beyond the monopoly, it's truly a delight to eat it in a rocking chair or in a hammock and enjoy all that is a Vermont summer. That said, the food is snack bar food - made with love fast food, but nothing to write home about. Ideal for children.

Fun, but not for the easily seasick.

Burgers had no salt or pepper, the onion rings were greasy and wet. Don't waste your time and money.

Extremely expensive for burgers. Pretty unimpressed. Save your money and go out for a real meal

The sweetest souls work here and the animal feeding area/petting zoo is incredible! When you arrive at Taylor Farms, you step into the cute little country store stationed at the beginning of the farm. The store is stocked with farm products like yummy cheeses and icecreams but also food and home products from local businesses like soaps, etc. My daughter picked out a scoop of her favorite VT icecream, maple walnut and wandered the store. I stumbled upon the "feed our animals" station near the store exit. You can buy the farm animals food and feed them yourself! The store associate welcomed us to go see the animals even if we didn't buy any food for them. You could tell she really loved them. We bought a variety pack for the animals which consisted of carrots, an apple, a bag of homemade cheeseits, and chicken feed (corn meal?). My daughter had a ball feeding the donkey, cows, chickens and cat! We had a ball watching her experience new things and support a local farm! We hope to come back someday soon!

Located in Manchester VT a very homey little candy shop…read more You walk into this place in Manchester and just kinda think...why does this store fit perfectly for where I am at at this moment? It's truly a pleasant little store. The lady seemed a little weirded out when my brother and I first walked in. We were in Manchester for the night, on our way back to NY from a week in Maine. She looked at us like....hmm I dunno, don't wanna say anything mean bc she wasn't mean lol, she just looked at us ... weirdly lol. Not sure how else to put it. As our visit went on she ended up being very nice. I just hope she didn't think we were in there to like...steal a couple pieces of candy hahaha. I mean, we aren't 10 years old anymore lol. She then went on to tell us about the store and how all the candy is made there (pretty sure that's what she said). I just remember thinking....how wonderful that this stuff isn't imported from places like...ugh China! They have everything! Every possible kind of candy you can imagine...she has it. She gave us a free sample and it was amazing! There are few great candy shoppes in Manchester. This one is definitely one of them. Prices are a little...high. Just a heads up if you go here. Couple things to consider as to why tho... 1) it's Manchester VT. It's a very bougie little town. Only makes sense most things are pricey there 2) privately owned 3) candy is made on site 4) it's Manchester Vermont lol Should this stop you from going? Absolutely not. Even if you're just in to look...it's worth it. Really a cute store. I hope to return to it one day. Living in Idaho, I rarely make it to Vermont lol. BUT IF I DO! I will for sure head back into Mother Myricks! Thanks for reading, YelperMyrickers! Cheers!

I also bought a peach-raspberry muffin and a blueberry muffin. The muffins looked great but were without ANY flavor. Downright awful, not sure what that was about, but the chocolates were very good. I don't think they were quite as good as Lake Champlain chocolates, but they were a close second. I always appreciate the freshness factor (in addition to flavor), so it mattered that the orange peel and apricots were very fresh. If we are ever in the area, I'd come back here for sure, but I'd stick with the chocolates only. No more baked goods !

Stopped in on Saturday midday thinking I was going to get a latte and maple creemee. However when I get there, I saw some guys drinking beers at the bar which piqued my interest so I took another look at the menu. Why not get an Affogatotini? Caffeine and a maple creemee all in one! This was DELISH! The girls that work here are so nice. I visited twice in the same day and both times this place was swamped. They took it in stride and still had a smile on their face while working through the line. The Maple Reserve offers ice cream / creemees, coffee, pastries and serves alcohol. They have a little area where you can also buy pure Vermont maple syrup, jams, sauces, small kitchen accessories, etc.

I saw one woman chilling on her laptop who had bought 3 things for herself: a cup of ice cream, some sort of cocktail, and a boba drink. She looked like she was loving life. Made with espresso from locally roasted coffee beans, the affogato with maple creemee was absolutely divine. They drizzled more maple syrup atop the creemee. It wasn't too sweet and just perfectly creamy, as the name suggests. I was pleased to see that there were many gluten free options, including the waffles, which come on sticks like popsicles. Would make the 3 hour trip just to try those one day. The Maple Reserve is definitely Aya-approved.
