This little breakfast joint is like a morning hug from your grandma--if your grandma only took cash and cooked like a champ. The corned beef hash? Crispy, salty perfection. Blueberry pancakes swimming in Vermont maple syrup? Basically dessert in disguise. Bacon was so crispy it could shatter glass (in the best way). The California eggs Benedict with spinach, tomato, and turkey bacon made me feel healthy enough to justify the pancakes. Service was friendly, coffee kept coming, and remember--bring cash or be prepared to wash dishes.

Outstanding local hole in the wall breakfast spot with great menu items to start your day! Service as friendly and quick, and in the small one-room upstairs it was easy to get coffee as needed ;)

We eat here EVERYTIME we are in Manchester. Staff is always very friendly! Food is consistently good. They can move a lot of people through quickly, without feeling rushed. Wish they had more choices for cookies/ brownies along with their muffins.

The entire town of Manchester is a dream. Up For Breakfast needs to be everyone's number one stop when you visit. Some things to know: 1) very small which means seating is limited and they do not take reservations 2) it is located on the second floor and is not handicapped accessible 3) cash only - ATMs are located across the street. For the experience, we always have a great time here. The people are nice and the food is tasty. I usually get the Hungry Hiker (which you can't go wrong ordering here) but went with one of their specials this time. If you are lucky to see the Banana Bacon pancakes on the menu, go for it! The maple late is also a staple here. I get it iced and it's the right level of sweet. The inside is very cozy, not great for big parties (4+) or hyper children. The servers will definitely accommodate you and but the vibe is more for an intimate low-key breakfast.

Best breakfast in a town with several excellent breakfast spots so that's saying something. Interesting specials like elk sausage. I had Croissant French Toast with fresh berries and pecans. Perfect bacon. Beware of over-order. Big portions. Great service always a line except in early November, February, & March. Worth the wait.

The waitresses were wonderful! We quickly were seated. They need a raise for keeping that place running! The food was delicious! We had pumpkin pancakes, eggs, and bacon. The maple syrup was wonderful! Love the quaint location was special too!

Outstanding (slightly hidden) find :) Food and service was terrific and it's a cozy little nook of a spot with an elevated view of Manchester. I can see it getting quite crowded (luckily we were there on a slower Monday morning) As Emily A warned - just make sure you have cash (or a debit card) Prepare to spend between $40-60 with tip.

We were traveling through the area & found this amazing little breakfast place in beautiful Manchester, VT. As we looked at menu a local couple said, " Go in, they're great!" The server, Jasmine was super sweet & informative. Great coffee- what a treat as I am not a fan of Dunkin coffee. THE best corned beef hash I have had in over 20 years! I made sure to compliment the cook! I have 2 cousins who attended the CIA ( Culinary Institute) in NY. Both ran breakfast places & made great CB Hash, this place rivaled them! My husband's breakfast sandwich with Vermont cheddar tasted like it was made with Easter Ham- so fresh & tasty! The place filled up quick! We're so glad we got there early! Don't miss this little gem!

Food quality / price (value) rating 10. The atmosphere is casual & laid back. Plan on waiting a little while for a table because this place is very popular with the locals, and attended extensively by visitors to the area. They only serve breakfast and brunch, and have limited hours, so check to he sure they're open. The owners, Amy and her husband are typically in house, with Amy running the front, and her husband running the kitchen. Amy's background includes a stint as a "service trainer", teaching people how to improve customer service, and she obviously lives by that mantra. I had the "Hungry Hiker", two eggs any style, fresh bakery rye, wheat, or sour-dough, two strips of baco, two sausages, and two pancakes with genuine Vermont pure maple syrup. Everything was high quality, prepared and presented nicely, and very hot. The wife had the "Farmers Omelette", and it was also excellent. The service was excellent and very timely. They have a typical diner breakfast menu, but with some very, very interesting spins on your standard expectations. (See the "Specials Menu" photo.). The prices were very reasonable, but it is "cash only". Highly recommended!!!

Up for Breakfast was sold back in August 2022 and is under new ownership. Very happy to say the ambiance, service, and food quality haven't changed. It's still a great place with a great menu. The owner seems to be very "hands on" in the kitchen, which is great. The one downside they didn't change? Cash only!!! I had a veggie scramble with sourdough toast and it was excellent. Everyone else in my group was also incredibly happy with their meals. Jesse was our server and was friendly, accurate, and checked on us regularly. Remember to tip well.

Stopped in on Saturday midday thinking I was going to get a latte and maple creemee. However when I get there, I saw some guys drinking beers at the bar which piqued my interest so I took another look at the menu. Why not get an Affogatotini? Caffeine and a maple creemee all in one! This was DELISH! The girls that work here are so nice. I visited twice in the same day and both times this place was swamped. They took it in stride and still had a smile on their face while working through the line. The Maple Reserve offers ice cream / creemees, coffee, pastries and serves alcohol. They have a little area where you can also buy pure Vermont maple syrup, jams, sauces, small kitchen accessories, etc.

I saw one woman chilling on her laptop who had bought 3 things for herself: a cup of ice cream, some sort of cocktail, and a boba drink. She looked like she was loving life. Made with espresso from locally roasted coffee beans, the affogato with maple creemee was absolutely divine. They drizzled more maple syrup atop the creemee. It wasn't too sweet and just perfectly creamy, as the name suggests. I was pleased to see that there were many gluten free options, including the waffles, which come on sticks like popsicles. Would make the 3 hour trip just to try those one day. The Maple Reserve is definitely Aya-approved.

For breakfast we enjoyed a bagel with lox, the breakfast sandwich and the eggs Benedict which we would order all again (in fact we did haha). For dinner we had a few wings and salad one evening and a more formal dinner for Valentine's Day. We had the lobster ravioli and the Braised Short Ribs which were absolutely fantastic. What made the experience that much better was our waitress Kate. We requested to have her a second night because of how fun, helpful and accommodating she was to us. On Valentine's Day a few things that could have put a damper on our evening were handled very professionally and we really appreciated it. However, we made it to their restaurant and it did not disappoint! The Copper Grouse had a very enticing menu so I was excited for this dinner. For dinner, I ordered the Garganelli pasta dish. It was light and creamy. And ended the meal with one of their dessert specials that had white chocolate raspberry ice cream with strawberries - it was delightful. The restaurant itself was pretty cozy. Lots of high top and standard table seating along with a bar. They offered outdoor seating on the porch as well. There was also a fire pit set up outside with plenty of Adirondack chairs - I saw people drinking by the fire but I'm not sure if food is served in that area. Our server, Molly, was awesome!! Next time we are in Manchester, I plan to stay here - it's close enough to walk to town and the hotel / restaurant are highly recommended!

Having visited Silver Fork in Manchester on a number of occasions over the years, I finally…read morerealized I've never written a review. Well, now is the time. We re-visited the restaurant recently for our 40th wedding anniversary, and I think it's only fitting to offer a view on what is best described as a bastion of excellence and gracious dining in Manchester village, Vermont. Situated in a refurbished former library building, the Silver Fork's setting, decor, and dining experience is indeed textbook flawless. Inside the upscale eatery evokes mid-century Moderne, a setting for the once popular Madmen TV period drama series; tony, chic, but hardly ostentatious and overbearing. On the contrary the high ceilings, lighting and space combine to offer that frozen glimpse of earlier elegance but alongside very contemporary culinary offerings. Table spacing accentuates a good use of space. We started with a "Rubies are Forever" Pomegranate cocktail with Pomegranate boba. The menu is large but not overbearing; a good mix of meats, legumes and fish. Equally the starters are enticing. French Onion soup is amazing but on this occasion we both chose the Duck egg roll with a special peanut sauce. Simply extraordinary and with generous duck portions. For an entree, my wife chose Mahi Mahi Fish, beautifully prepared over plantain. Despite being tempted by a brisket with horseradish sauce, the evening special, I chose the Ratatouille. Why? Prepared properly, this is often hard to find. The Chef's presentation of the southern French staple, was beautifully interpreted, accompanied with some goat cheese. We accompanied our meal with a glasses of red wine. For desert we shared the incomparable Caribbean Bread Pudding which is always a hit here. Allow to me to say our server Lynn showed a genuine experience both in the menu and wine list along with a pleasant disposition. We equally had the opportunity to chat with Melody the co-owner who, along with her husband Chef Mark, described their culinary Odyssey before coming to Vermont years ago to establish Silver Fork. Silver Fork presents a genuine chef-prepared culinary experience both in terms of cuisine as well as ambiance and flawless service. We'll be back!

First I must comment on the beautiful job that the owners had performed in transforming this Library into to a paradise for eating. Tables are spaced far enough apart that you feel that you are having a private dining experience. The art work is beautiful and arranged tastefully. The wait staff are courteous and respectful. You can tell that this is an upscale restaurant as soon as as you are seated. The food is the best I have ever had. I have dined in many Michelin starred restaurants but the food at The Silver Fork is beyond reproach. I must say that the cocktails are on the same level as the food served. I can't wait to return to Manchester so that I may once again experience this perfect meal. Diane & Larry Katz (NJ)
