Chuck I hope your reading this. Comic books are were a huge part of my life. I remember those mile high ads back in the day. And I remember asking my grandfather to order me some books. They seemed to take forever to arrive. I remember asking my grandfather to call and he did. I sometimes wonder if my grandfather was talking to chuck. They told us the books are the on the way. They eventually arrived and it made my week. To have some fresh books and too escape for a little bit. Fast forward to 2020 and the world has changed. There's a news story about a garage sale in the Bronx that specializes in comic books. I decide to visit just to get out the house. I pick up a few books. I get home and start reading them, and instantly I forget how messed up the world is. I see one of those mile high ads in the one of the books I purchased. I head to there website and purchase a few books. Well the order took longer then expected, I ended up calling mile high to check the status of my order. Just like my grandfather did when I was kid. The person I spoke to told me there on the way. Super polite guy btw. So I waited and waited. Then I got the package. I have been having a rough time at work and covid is always in the back of my mind. That package of books made me forget all of that, even if just for a few moments. I want to say thank you Chuck for all that you do. One my biggest regrets is not visiting your warehouse when I lived in Denver. read more

This is a fun and cool place to visit, regardless of if you're into comics or not; with that being said, I wouldn't recommend spending any money here: I've visited Mile High Comics several times these past couple of years ... and I've yet to have a single positive experience with their staff. Don't bother asking anyone a question, or for any assistance, because they'll just glare at you like you're bothering them and give you curt, lazy responses. For example ... I once asked an employee if they happened to have a trade paperback copy of "X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills" in stock. The employee glared at me like he didn't know what I was talking about (which I thought was a little ... odd for someone who worked in a comic book store) and just grumbled: "If we had it, it'd be back there..." Another time, I actually found a couple of things I wanted and went to check out ... only to find I'd brought the wrong credit card. I was so embarrassed and politely informed the employee who'd ringed me up that the purchase was going to have to be cancelled. Obviously, I wasn't expecting her to give them to me for free or let me go put them back myself ... but I also didn't expect her to roll her eyes at me and hiss "Whatever..." before walking away. I get it; working in customer service can be an absolute nightmare and everyone has their bad days ... but when I have that experience EVERY time I visit, I start to feel like they don't want my business and I need to go somewhere else... Everyone and their grandmother seems to have mentioned this, but everything in this store is ludicrously overpriced. I get that Mile High is a small business and likely can't afford to sell everything at Amazon rates ... but they are out of their minds if they think I'm gonna pay $40+ for something I can find for less than $20 from another comic seller on eBay... I wish I had more positive things to say. I remember walking in there for the first time and feeling my nerdy, superhero-loving heart burst with joy ... but I've just had it with this place and I don't think I'll be returning... read more

Huge store with huge selection with everything marked up to ten times the value. A variant cover book that is $30 is $150 in Mile High Comics. A funko figure that is worth $3 in eBay, $20 in Mile High. I really wanted to get stuff but hell no, mark up is too high, totally ruins any collectors value you may hope to attain. Nostalgia wise, coming here was like a pilgrimage. Growing up reading comics and seeing the Mile High Comics ads made me want to come visit the almost mythical comic shop of dreams. Well it is mythical because as far as comic shops, I would not actually be a regular customer here. The size is impressive but thats about it. Oh also the resident cat is the most charming being there. I asked one of the floor people the pricing on one of the books way up high on the wall, he basically told me to check the website. They have the lesser valued books in boxes throughout the store, some along the sidewall and some in the middle on tables. You have to use their rather outdated website to check the inventory and if you cant find one in those boxes on the floor you have to go to the counter and ring the bell for service. There was a Spiderman issue I was looking for that said they had it, so I rang the bell and the girl, so enthusiastically lol, offered to help. She said she can go pull it, but only if I'm buying it. I said I need to look at the condition first. Yadda yadda yadda she brings the book. Sure enough condition was not near mint and I walked away. I'm glad to have made the pilgrimage with my son, pulled a couple of books on my list, got to see some cool books in the display cases and saw the life size X-Wing (looks like its on its last legs), but that's the only time i'll ever go. read more

After visiting this place for the first time ever last week I gotta say it was a disaster. They had all of their key books in display cases catching a nice fiery tan from the fluorescent lights inside the cases. Sure the prices were outrageous but so was the way they stored their comics. Unbelievable that nonone in the store sees what I saw in these cases. Tons of great books faded beyond repair. It was just awful. Stay away or at the very least, don't buy any of their display case books. read more

I was running around LoDo looking for last-minute Christmas gifts and MHC was my last stop. When I entered the MHC address into Google Maps, it informed me that I only had 10 more minutes until it closed. I called them in a panic practically begging them to stay open for me. They told me it was no problem and to stop by! I'll have you know I took every extra effort to get there quickly. I understand that someone people want to get home and I didn't want to take advantage of them staying an extra few minutes due to my stupid time management skills. I got there and told them exactly what I needed. One guy helped me find it and I was in and out in about 5 minutes. NICEST people. BEST store. TONS of good shit there for a GREAT price. First time visiting after hearing a lot of hype. All I'm going to say is that the staff was incredibly rude and aggressively mean. One woman in particular had zero patience for our small group of well-behaved high school students. From the moment we walked in until we left she did nothing but follow us around barking harassments at us. We finally left because of her. 'Overwhelming' is a great way to describe Mile High Comics, especially if you're unfamiliar with comic book geekdom, but well worth the effort for anyone hoping to find that elusive missing issue or a collectible you didn't realize you needed. My exposure to MHC was limited to San Diego Comic-Con until I had the chance to put my nerd boots in the ground during a recent trip to Denver. I appreciate how much effort must have gone into accumulating so much popular media stuff under one ginormous roof. Nevertheless, it would be nice if the employees made an effort to better organize and present their wares; the prices can be outrageous and it's hard to justify paying them when the goods are crammed together in a dusty shelf. I have been visiting Mile High Comics for well over a decade and today was the last time I will set foot in one of their stores. Post pandemic, I set aside a few bucks more than usual to spend at the Mega Store today. I planned repairs on my car near there so I couod ride my bikenfrom the shop to the Megastore and it would give me a solid hour to shop. Upon arriving I asked if I could lock my bike up. "As long as it's not too long" was all Lisa could muster between yawms and walking past me. No greeting A few minutes later I was barked at for my mask sliding down. No nice reminder or pleasant request. Just - "YOU NEED TO PUT YOUR MASK BACK ON IN HERE!" I saw I was the only one in the store, a chance to talk comics with the pros.... Do you have this!? No How have things been going? Okay You guys have sodas? Points to cooler, I over and grab one to find its room temp, so I mention it to Lisa "hey these are warm, any cold ones?" Lisa - "Yeah there warm, that's what the sign says" Never once was I greeted, offered assistance, engaged, or even looked at. There are too many other options, don't waste your time getting the same treatment. read more

Placed orders online weeks ago and nothing has been done from the business end as far as pulling or processing my orders. Three and a half weeks and nothing. This company seems to be one giant ego stroke for the owner and nothing else. They can't process online orders but they can send out nonstop newsletters that the owner uses to fellate himself. I have ordered three times. And all of those times the main comic I ordered was not there but they tried sending the rest of the order, you know the stuff that was after thoughts to go with the real book you want. This has happened three times now. I mean do you have the books or do you not???? Anyways they don't tell you the bad news until it's to late to cancel. They don't answer the phones or emails so do I have to call my bank and have them get my money back? read more

If anything stop by for the atmosphere. Some of the back issues are overpriced, and sometimes you'll find two of the same comics in the back issues the same grade but two wildly different prices. Folks are nice and helpful, and there's a large selection of trades. Lots of toys and collectibles. Cool spot. read more

This is a really cool place. They claim that they're the biggest comic book store in the world. They have thousands and thousands of comics. Along with some cool random knick knacks if you're into say movie props and vintage toys. One things I would like to see more of since they're so large is more non superhero comics. And more trade paperbacks. However still a cool place. One thing to note... not located in the safest of areas. Also parking is kinda sketchy. read more

I have been a MHC customer for probably twenty years but only shop there when I can't find what I need elsewhere for cheaper. Their website is not user friendly and has barely been updated in years. Almost every order is either missing a comic, a comic is mislabeled resulting in unwanted purchases, a comic is nowhere near the stated grade (marked near mint, but have noteable damage like torn pages) or all of the above. read more

Both my husband and daughter are comic book fanatics so of course we had to stop at Mile High Comics during our vacation in Colorado. The size of this store can only be described as enormous. The trade paperbacks are sorted alphabetically so it's easy to find whatever you're looking for. They also have an incredible selection of paraphernalia of all genres including figurines, legos, and so much more! My daughter couldn't find a couple of comics on the floor so we asked an employee for help. While she was friendly enough, she did say that she could only bring the items from the back if we purchased them. That was slightly annoying because she just wanted to check them out. We ended up buying them but felt pressured because of that store policy. Nonetheless, we really enjoyed it here and will definitely come back the next time we are in Denver. read more

I was visiting Denver over the weekend with a friend, and this was the _ONLY_ thing on his list of places to visit in the area, and when we finally arrived, the first thing he asked me to do was take his picture, which I happily obliged. For the rest of the evening (we spent around 2 hours in the store); he was just walking around, with a grin on his face and excitedly showing me all the First Editions and telling me stories about comics and his childhood. It was super amazing coming here with such a comic enthusiast, and his happiness at finally being here was very contagious. And frankly, it is an amazing space, a massive warehouse filled not just with comics, but also toys, figurines, memorabilia ranging from several fandoms like Dr Who, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, etc, etc, etc - the list goes on and on. And while the focus of the stock is US-centric to some extent, Int'l stuff also has a fair amount of shelf space. Staff were super friendly too and I had a lovely time wandering around the stacks. Mike High Comics is the airport of comic book shops. In other words, their prices are insanely high. Multiple times I found a comic that I purchased for $20 and they had it for over $100. I saw $2 comics going for $10. First appearance of Gambit in VG condition? 50-90 in the real world. At Mile High it was $240. Scavenger hunt drinking game idea: Look up the prices of 5 comics at a local comic book shop, comic con or on eBay. Then look to see what they are here. If it's double the price- drink 1 Triple the price - drink 2 5x the price - finish your beer Careful. You may die of alcohol poisoning. Ending on a positive... it was a pretty sweet place. I enjoyed looking around and you can find some deals. I bought a Snicker bar for $1. Great value. read more

I have been to this location several times and they have great merchandise however, the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. No one is of any help here. You ask a question, you get a curt one word answer, you inquire about an item, it continues the same. The eye rolls and deep sighs make you feel more unwelcome to the highest degree. I work in the customer service industry and almost every staff member seems bothered to the point that despite the great selections, it makes you not want to stop in and shop. read more

As a comic collector, I get burned by this company over and over. A few years ago I purchased a few books from a few sources. 1 NM book from Mile High, 3 books from Heritage (2 NM, and 1 Fine), and 1 book from Midtown Comics VF. All of them remained in their original packaging until I took them to the NY Comic Con to get them slabbed. The grades for the Heritage books were better than expected. 9.4, 9.6, 6.0, the Midtown book came back 8.0.... but the midtown book which I paid NM prices for came back as a 6.5. All 5 books were purchased at the same time and kept in the same place. This Brave and Bold #35 book @9.2 slabbed is worth $1100, @6.5 is worth $145... I paid $600 for the book, and it's the last one I will ever buy from Mile High. read more

Was looking everywhere for the What if... #58 and they had it for an great price. I use to live in Colorado and I seen the huge store but I wasn't collecting back then. I ordered a few comics and they are awesome! Exactly what I wanted. They kept in constant communication with me until the day they arrived. When I was just a teenager, back in about 1973, I had a sizeable collection of Marvel and DC comics. Chuck Rozanski came to my house and gave me, as I recall, two cents for the DC and three cents each for the Marvel comics. After he bought the comics from me, he gloated about what a good deal he had made. I felt ripped off. Yes, this was a long time ago. We were both 18 years old. Kids make mistakes. But this has stuck with me for all these years. If Chuck Rozanski has turned into a wonderful and fair person, then I hope he will forgive me for my negative review. read more

Their price are ridiculously to high. I was looking on ebay for a particular comic and it noticed that they are are trying to sell the same issue three times higher then everyone else. I was looking at the Batman: A Death in the Family TPB and noticed that Mile High Comics has it listed for $60-$100. Everyone else has the same issues listed for $10-$30. And it looks like they can't match the right cover images with the right prints. I tried to purchase the Batman: A Death in the Family 10th print from them, but they wouldn't go below $60. That's more then double what I paid for any of the other prints. Why would anyone paid those prices when getting one graded doesn't even cost that much? And when it comes to the print covers I have a of them except for the 10th print and 13th print. read more

I too, have had a problem with Chuck. I had been a subscriber for YEARS, even keeping up with my subscription while I was in the Marines back in the 80s. (yes had to mail checks and what not, didn't have credit cards back in those days). Regardless, had been buying from them online too when ebay came around. One bone of contention was when I bought a 'NM' Tomb of dracula 10 from them. Sent it off to CGC to have it graded, came back 'fine'. Called, told them they're usually really good on their grading, what happened. Long story short it was either a bait & switch, or they overgraded it. I ended up having to file a report with my CC company, returned the now-graded book to them. Chuck said I could 'continue buying' from them but I would have to write/mail a money order personally to him. Get off your high horse Chuck. You were lucky to find what became the basis of your collection, but you don't need to have the ego. I'm sorry you got bit by a tick and have some disease from it (Rocky mountain spotted fever or lime disease or something). Heck, your attitude didn't even make you deserve getting burglarized at your store recently. But think about it: without the attitude Karma wouldn't have to come back to bite you. I think the items there are so high-priced because it IS a museum, owned by a fan/collector who doesn't want to actually part with his items. I get it! I contacted them about selling my collection and they said they didn't give the first price. Sent them a list back with my prices only to be told they had 5 of one particular book and couldn't meet my asking price (didn't mention any interest in any other books, roughly 200 from the 60s-90s). Okay, fine. You don't want my books at that price. However, the condescending tone used in the email from whoever "Pam" is was ridiculously rude. I was just trying to clarify whether they had an interest in any other books or was my asking price just too high....it's sad that a company name that was such a big part of my comic childhood experience has such rotten customer service. read more

Was in town and I thought it would be cool to see this store. I came here mainly to look for comics and back issues. Biggest store I have ever seen. Based on that alone I gave it the extra star. Large selection of back issues in good condition. Easy to search and many employees offered help. Prices were ridiculous and is why I won't ever come back. Things with yellow stickers were "60%" which seems nice, but not if they mark stuff up 200%. Ie spawn #1 not graded $200 prior to 60% off. Also as previous reviews have stated some prices are different for same issue even though condition appears the same read more

This is the largest comic book store I have personally seen in a decade. The warehouse space is full of comics and memorabilia to fulfill every collectors fancy. Would give five stars, but the prices were fairly high in comparison with local competitors. read more

We are big X Men fans and recently took a trip to Denver and Boulder. Guess where we stopped first? Yup--Mile High Comics. This great little store was recommended by a friend and she said it was for anyone who loved comic books--new and vintage. She was spot on. As in typical fashion of any comic book store, this place is bustling with all sorts of people riffling through all of the cool books and other items. The store was so well maintained and the area we look in -Marvel- was super organized. There are many other types here from the bronze age, silver age, etc. So much stuff! We found a few Avengers books and Captain America and were on our way. Very friendly staff and price point was great. read more
