I was initially nervous to start CrossFit, but after my first on-boarding session with Coach Kris, all my fears went away.

I was incredibly excited to join the 6-week challenge at the Centennial CrossFit gym - primarily to…read moreimprove my nutrition and learn ways to eat healthier. Overall - I was successful in meeting the goals of the program (losing more than 5% body fat in those 6 weeks, which ultimately meant I got my money back for the program)! The workouts were AWESOME. I genuinely enjoyed them and felt that most of the coaches were very supportive. Not all of the coaches understood my limitations with diastasis recti or how to recommend safe modifications, so a word of caution to know what is safe for yourself if you too have that. The workouts never got boring and definitely felt challenging for me - even though I'd already been working out 3-4 times/week for over a year. It was a nice change of pace from my own workout routine for sure. Truly loved the workouts. The real challenge, for me, was the meal plan. Not only is it an incredibly restrictive plan for 6 weeks without modifications, but it pushes protein very heavily and didn't come with any real explanation for WHY it was designed the way it was or any details on good nutrition (what's a lean protein? what's a healthy fat? how do you pair a balanced meal or snack?), which is what I needed most. The prescribed meal plan worked, but I came here to learn HOW to eat better in general and I wasn't getting that. When I reached out with specific concerns, namely around the protein snacks/protein options/total protein intake, I was often told to "stick with it" rather than being given real guidance to understand it and modify in a way that was healthy for my body. Overall I found the nutrition portion of this program to be lacking significantly throuhgouht the program - and when I asked about how to proceed with my nutrition at the end of the 6 weeks, I was told that I needed to enroll in the monthly membership to get any further nutrtion info, which was the next level/step up plan -- that was never mentioned to me at the start of the pgoram (and again I thought I was getting education throughout and wouldn't be left to just figure it out on my own at the end of the program). I was put off by this approach - and quite frankly disappointed and felt a little scammed. Ultimately, the program works if your only goal is to lose weight and you follow it to a T -- and you're NOT interested in understanding good nutrition from it. But that's not for me, I was expecting to walk away with the education necessary to make life-long sustainable dietary changes for better overall nutrition and health - so I cannot in good faith give this 5 stars as I feel like this was a bit misleading.

It's been 'home' for 5 years for me and my family. Nice big box with plenty of space. I love this gym but everything is always broken... Today I…read moregot on my first treadmill and it was unplugged, easy fix? Sure. Before plugging it in I move to another and the screen wasn't working. Okay moving on through my workout 1st stationary bike, screen broken. Moved to gym floor & started the circuit machines - only 1 of 6 not working today. Better than usual I suppose. Workout completed One of my favorite things about this gym is the recover area, so I went to do the leg compression. 1st set (size small) air leak in zone 1. Next set (size small) air leak zone 1. Sitting in 3rd chair down, decide I'll just stick with this set and skip zone one but the chair is broken and won't lean back at all. Decide if I am going to switch chairs at this point I should grab another set but then I was informed the other two sets left out all had leaks too. So I do my 10 minutes with leaks and sitting up straight. Swing by the front desk because I've been a member for over a year and this is pretty much a regular visit here. Once during a GTX class the front plate of the treadmill just fell off while the girl next to me was on it. All we could do was laugh Hate to complain but decide it's time to say something although I've heard from other members it won't change anything... I give it a shot. I report all the items while my husband orders us two protein shakes (about $21) and she said I can file a concern on the app or she can relay the message Monday. I have no intention of figuring out how to report each thing on the app, I honestly don't care that much because we can always switch gyms but I thought I'd give a heads up to anyone considering joining. I do love lots of things about this gym but it's not seeming to be worth the price tag currently. Some pros include the private sauna's in each bathroom and their additional coed saunas by the pool. The pool area in general is awesome, the kids love the slide and the snack bar (not outrageous but priced like you are at a beach club) They do have an adequate amount of equipment, so even with a bunch of broken things I can usually find enough other things to do to complete my workout. Large parking lot and great location.
