    Beef sliders
    Mel C.

We started off with the Kobe Style Classic Beef Sliders which were delicious. Then there was a long wait for the main course. My friends ordered the Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich (crispy Cajun battered chicken topped with aged Cheddar cheese and chipotle mayo served on a toasted mixed seed bun with a side of house-made avocado salsa) with curly fries and grilled Shrimp California Benedict (grilled shrimp, double-smoked bacon and house-made avocado salsa on English muffin). I ordered the Spicy Tuna Tacos (seared, pepper crusted ahi tuna wiht Asian sesame slaw and spicy chipotle yogurt). My friends enjoyed their dishes but I had some issues with mine. For my Spicy Tuna Tacos, they used unripe avocado. I eat a lot of things but unripe avocado is one of the few things I cannot stand. I also didn't enjoy the raw onion they used in the tacos. If it was sweet onion or cooked onion, I would've loved the tacos. I couldn't eat the dish so I got a different dish that I know I would love for sure - Butternut Squash Ravioli (Roma tomato sauce, Goat cheese, fresh basil and spicy-glazed pecans). The Butternut Squash Ravioli was delicious (as I expected) and I loved the spicy-glazed pecans. We also got dessert. The whole reason why I wanted to come was because I knew they had the Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake (a creamy pumpkin style cheesecake spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg, topped with candied walnut topping and whipped cream on a drizzle of house-made caramel) on their menu. My friend got vanilla ice cream because she likes the ice cream isn't too sweet. Me on the other hand love sugar and I thoroughly enjoyed the pumpkin cheesecake. It actually tasted like pumpkin (I had many bad pumpkin cheesecakes that just taste like cheesecake and no pumpkin). I would like to give this place 4 stars and the servers were really nice. However, the service was a bit slow.

The food was delicious and our server Eric was very helpful and kind. We were a large party and he made sure to help us all out.

The appetizers (calamari, mozza sticks, and wings) were great! Very solid choices although personally the wings (medium) were a little too sweet for us. Service was ok but the waitress did seem a bit stressed. The mains, however, were a bit disappointing. The burgers were just ok, my halloumi in the halloumi salad was burnt (although the salad itself was great), and the children's cheese sandwich was also burnt. The fish & chips were very oily. Usually I really want to like and rate local establishments well as I am a local myself, but burnt food is a no-no and unfortunately with kids I don't really have the time to ask for a remake. Great vibes for a good beer though.

Set ourselves up with a West Avenue Heritage dry cider and ordered a Poke Tuna Bowl and a Beef Dip. First of all, the service was excellent. Warm, friendly and genuine. I even spilled a whole glass of cider and they replaced it free of charge. The food was very good and we would certainly come back. Highly recommend this for a wonderful lunch.

The place has a classy feel, with a space that's thoughtfully laid out and comfortable to sit in. Really loved the overall vibe. That, along with attentive service and solid food, made for a great experience. Everything was above standard, and I appreciated not just the quality and portion size, but also how fair the pricing was. Only small note is that the salad on the side felt a bit generic. Nothing wrong with it, but didn't quite match the level of the rest of the meal. The Chicken Chowder, on the other hand, was a total surprise. Hearty, comforting, and just full of that savory kind of goodness. It was so well done, I honestly wish they served it in XXL size. Overall, it's a lovely spot I'd be happy to come back to. Feels like the kind of place that gets the little things right without trying too hard.

I got the cornmeal trout and chips and my partner got the cheeseburger. We both agreed that the fries here were absolutely delicious! They were perfectly fried in my opinion and had that salty tasty crunch. I think the trout was alright for me personally. Maybe because I'm just so used to fried haddock when I get fish and chips. The service was great and our server was very attentive. I will say I think the ambiance is quaint and cute but I think I was just a bit thrown off by a few minor things (i.e., water was lukewarm, the chair I sat on had a few crumbs, etc.) nothing huge and probably doesn't bother anyone but me. I'd go again for the fries and to try out something from the brunch menu.

A couple Saturdays ago, I was running a few errands. Once I was done, I felt like visiting a diner for lunch. I did a search and found Poached Dreams Diner in Aurora. I didn't mind driving up from Markham to check it out. It was straightforward getting here. I parked in the parking lot and walked in from what looked like the back of the diner. There's also a front door with a patio that faces Wellington Street East. I was immediately greeted by a young, enthusiast woman. I let her know that I needed a table for one. She got me to a comfortable booth by the window. The catch is that you have to watch your step to get to your seat. It's a treat when I have breakfast out. I thought that I'd be getting french toast. Well, all that changed when I saw a heading for comfort foods on the menu. Nothing makes me happier than seeing open-faced sandwiches on a menu. It was probably during my days living in Winnipeg that I fell in love with such sandwiches and at least a side. New goal: come here and have every open-faced sandwich on the menu. I got cold water to start. It was refreshing and much needed after running errands. I ordered these items for my meal: - Diet Coke (2) - Hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and veggies My Diet Coke came with a glass with ice. I loved it. I wish the can was larger! I needed a second can for dessert. I loved my hot turkey sandwich. There was a generous amount of sliced turkey smothered in sauce over a slice of white bread. I got to choose my starch. I went with mashed potatoes. There was enough gravy over the turkey that I dunked my spoonfuls of mashed potatoes into it. I loved the steamed veggies. They were perfectly cooked. They also went into the gravy. The meal was delicious. I'd order it again. I felt like dessert. I asked if there was any. Baklava with pistachios. I said yes. I thought that it would be a square or rectangle. Nope. I got a roll. Cool! It was perfect. It had the right amount of honey. It was crispy and yummy. So good! I paid my bill at the table. I tipped and then tapped my credit card. I elected to have the receipt texted to my phone, which also signed me up for its points program. Yay! I learned that this diner has been open since June 2025. I'm always late to any party because I seem to live under a rock or in a cave. I'm glad that I visited this eatery. Great food. Great service. Great! I used the washroom before I left. The women's washroom was clean and had a full-length mirror. This eatery is huge. It looks like there's a cafe for those grabbing coffee and maybe a snack before leaving. I look forward to returning for more good eats and drinks. (148)

Amazing food and great service, I would like to come back and try some of their dinners dishes.
