We have been patients here for 8+ years. We had a very poor experience in office this week, that follows the same patterns and behavior of our previous 2 appointments over the last year. There is no organization or professionalism at the front desk and sadly that reflects on the provider herself. I left a review earlier this week explaining that the front office lacks organization and while the dentist is amazing. It creates a very poor patient experience. They tell people they are checked in, and do not check them in. Take the patients in reverse order of arrival and appointments. After reflecting I actually removed the post 2 hours later planning to speak with the office when they called with my child's Referrel the next day. They didn't call and asked us to find a new dentist today. This practice has gone down hill, I'm not sure if they have trouble keeping staff, just hire family for the front desk who doesn't have the appropriate experience or if they just don't value their patients time because they have too many patients in the practice and can't manage how many patients they schedule at once. My child asked to start with a new dentist after we left the appointment - so the feeling is mutual . I think it's fair for people looking for new dentist understand that if they have feedback. Great experience with our 3yo! Dr Naoom is very detailed and informative. We discussed a couple of cavities and she was very polite and professional (it's really difficult and challenging being a parent and hearing your child has any tooth decay). I appreciate our first trip to the dentist. I have worked in dental for about 10 years so far, with a lifelong ambition of being an orthodontist myself actually! My own office doesn't have a pediatric dentist, but our top hygienist highly recommended Dr Naoom. This office puts most offices I've worked in to shame because it's not only beautiful, but it's very clean with a bright and uplifting staff. I see the only negative reviews are from years ago and definitely not comparable to what we saw in person. Pricing wasn't brought up at the appointment until we were in the back, but that's because I had the conversation with them BEFORE the appointment. I wish more places did this because I already knew what to expect! :) No one likes financial surprises. Hoping my son loves the dentist as much as I always did, which led me down this career path myself. I was very nervous taking him anywhere because I needed it to go well! Our first visit was great. Zero wait time with my rambunctious toddler. Second visit- we waited for 30 minutes past our appointment time as the waiting room was filling up. I have a very busy 2 year old who wants to be on the move. I walked out. Will not be coming back. The line to check in was so long I couldn't even tell the receptionist we were leaving. read more

My 18 month old had his first visit today and I am beyond pleased with Milestones! He recently had a fall and chipped a front tooth, and Dr Carolyn made me feel at ease and gave me some useful info. She also sang to him to calm him down, because a toddler at the dentist can be quite the challenge. The whole office was very sweet and accommodating. read more

If I could give this office a ZERO, I would... My 6 year old daughter received dental care at this office, which seemed fine (no real issues with the work being done or the care she was given). The dental staff was fine, and the work seems to have gone well, however months after the appointments, we have continued to receive bill-after-bill, despite having seemingly "closed out" our account for services while in the office (pre-paying each visit based on their review of our dental insurance). I understand that at times, their "costs" are estimated and they have to wait for the insurance company to come back with what is/is not covered, but at no time were we told just how overpriced the work completed for our daughter would be (most work and materials were over DOUBLE the price covered by insurance, which at our family dentist would have cost us probably $25 out of pocket.... not $250 (or more!!!!). After paying nearly $800 for our daughter's dental work (a few fillings and a silver crown), we received a bill for $80. I tried calling their billing department several times with no response since I was confused how we still owed money when I'd paid ahead of time...(I did receive one missed call that they made during my work day), but then never received a call back after that. So the days past with no response and I simply paid the bill, since I didn't want to owe money for a late payment and in the end, whatever, it was $80. Figuring that was "the end", I was exceptionally surprised to recently receive another bill for nearly $300 and a "list" that I'm assuming is supposed to represent an overview of costs and what was paid/what was covered. I called to speak with billing regarding our account, since this "list" is absolutely insane and ridiculous to try to read, and was told that I needed to speak with someone in billing. A person named TJ called back, but left a voicemail when I was disposed and unable to talk. When I returned the call, I was told he couldn't be reached, and that they would leave a message. He never called back. Fed up, I then asked that my daughter's records be transferred back to our family dentist, and was told TWO seperate times that the records had been sent (they have still not been sent.... and today I was told that I had to speak with someone else to have that done - no name given... but they "would leave a message"). I also then requested a dental ledger for my daughter's account, as a family friend who works for a dental office suggested, so they could review the account for me. I was told I needed to speak with Monique. I've yet to hear from Monique despite several calls. Each time I am put on hold and told she is unable to take my call. When I have asked for her number/extension to reach her (or to again speak to TJ!?!?!?!), I am told that can't be given since they use their private numbers.... which is weird for a business, but still, the least they could do would be to return their patient's phone calls. Such a terrible experience. I would stay far away. read more

We started coming to Milestones when my daughter was 2, she had 2 cavities on the back of her front teeth. She was less than cooperative and would not allow them to numb her mouth, the doctor then explained a different treatment that would prevent the cavities from spreading further until she could "mature" to an older age and then have the teeth fixed. We also took her for regular cleanings every 3 months (per her instruction) as opposed to 6, which meant we paid out of pocket for every other cleaning. Because my daughter was still not cooperative with restoration of the teeth she had to go under sedation at the hospital to have those teeth removed. Fast forward a couple of years and COVID hit. Per protocol in HER office according to HER standards parents were not allowed in the office while your own child received treatment, and she made sure to make you well aware that this was HER PRIVATE practice. The first appointment for a filling my daughter had my husband took her to, they get her all situated, numbed her then told my husband he had to leave. There was nothing said prior to that stating that he would have to leave her while they drilled and filled her teeth. She was 6 at the time and scared. She had one more tooth that needed to be filled, I went to that appointment with my daughter, and same thing...they got her situated in the chair and before they numbed her this time they asked me to leave. When I refused, stating that I was fully vaccinated, masked and a nurse, that I understood COVID guidelines stating I would stand 6 ft away but I was not leaving the building so my daughter could have her work done she stated "I can't do this treatment today" I stated "ok, when are you going to relax your COVID restrictions?", her response "When covid goes away" I looked at her and said "you and I both know COVID is never going away", she said "well then my guidelines will never relax, this is my private practice and these are my rules". I stated that I would be finding another dentist and her response was "Good" as we walked away. Since then we have seen another dentist who says that is against the LAW to request the parent of a minor not be present during treatment. Milestones continues to call me to try to set up appointments with my daughter to have her teeth cleaned even after I have told them that we have another dentist. I do not recommend this dentist AT ALL. She is rude and plays by her own rules, even going against CDC guidelines. Never do anything you do not feel comfortable with, including leaving your child alone with a doctor/dentist. No doctor should ever ask you to leave any child alone with them. read more

Great team at Milestones. I have a 2 yr old son and this was our first visit there. After reading the mix reviews I decided to give them a try. I called to schedule an appointment they booked us same week with no issues. We were greeted at the door upon arrival. The waiting room was clean there was toys to keep him busy while mommy did the paperwork. When we was called to the back, my son didnt want too go he was about to have his tantrum but the ladies there distracted him with toys and showing him stuff in the back room. He was okay with the cleaning for maybe 2 mins..lol Dr. Carolyn came over was great with him singing songs and showing him what she was doing. Friendly and patient staff for sure. Definitely be back for a follow up appt. Thanks for the batman tooth brush my son thinks he turns into batman after he brushes his teeth.lol read more

I have been taking my son there for a couple of years. Things seem to be going downhill at this office. Expect to wait at least 20-25 minutes to be brought in a room after scheduled appointment time. During last 2 visits there have been issues with getting X-rays. My son was uncomfortable during them but was cooperative and did not move. During our last visit they did 4-5 X-rays and none of them worked. I'm outraged that my son was exposed to that amount of x-rays. And although I know that risks for dental x-rays are low, it was for nothing. I was at the office for over an hour and my son only received a simple cleaning and fluoride. I can't say enough great things about this office. They're easy to book online or by phone. Every time I've needed a form last minute they're always so accommodating. The office is super children friendly. iPads to help ease nerves in waiting room. And our last visit they had TVs on the ceiling for kids to watch during procedures. And most importantly the dentist is so kind and has such a calming presence. Though she is very busy she takes her time with each child. at the beginning on our first visit, my son started upset with the dental hygienist because he wasn't used to the cleaning yet and she has stepped in slowed down and took over. Been taking our two boys here for at least 2 years,we like the Dentist but the office staff has major scheduling issues and make it feel like it's your fault even though it is the incompetence of the staff! Every time I make an appointment at the office I would have to ask for an appointment card, and we don't always get appointment confirmation calls ,we have had numerous appointments where the time was wrong, we were told one time and they had it down wrong!Today topped the cake, my wife made an appointment for my son's filling which was today the day after Christmas, my wife was questioning it at the office when she made the appointment because my wife did mention that that's the day after Christmas and would you be open?The women said oh yes we are.Well guess what? My wife and son drive an 1/2 away to get there and the office is closed.It just so happens that over the holiday we had someone else who actually referred us to this office tell us a recent story they just had with the office over scheduling issues and the rude comment made by the older lady in the office!I'm very disappointed! Dr. Lubrano is great with my son and explains things to us in a way that he can understand. She engages in conversation and we never feel rushed. Between constant scheduling issues, rude staff and the owner whom is the dentist ignoring parents concerns that were brought to her attention I would not trust my children there. If I could give it zero stars, I would. This practice seemed to have good reviews and it was also on a recommendation list from our pediatrician. We didn't know anyone that had first-hand experience with them. We decided to give it a try and make appointments for my 4yr old son and 2 yr old daughter. It was the first dentist trip for both of them. The office is nice, clean and modern with a nice play area for the kids. The hygienist we got seemed knowledgeable and good. She took her time with our son during his cleaning and then the dr examined him. He had recently complained of a toothache and the dr confirmed two cavities, one in each of his bottom molars. She then proceded to tell us that they could not be filed and she would have to extract or put a crown on them, but she would need xrays. During the first attempt for xrays, my son was less than cooperative I will admit. They then determined that he would need laughing gas, nitrous oxide, to sedate him. He was once again uncooperative. My wife and I were totally against total sedation. The dr then said that she had no other plan for us, she didnt know what to tell us. Given the degrees from Tufts University hanging on the wall, i thought that she would have a more professional solution for us. She told us we could come back in three months for a checkup, mind you my son was complaining of a toothache. Why would I wait three months? My daughters exam was then very brief....with the hygienist spending less than two minutes cleaning her teeth. Needless to say that we were less than impressed with Milestones and we definitely will not be back. In conclusion, after getting a few referals from friends, we ended up at Pediatric Dentistry on Waterman St on the east side of Providence. After meeting with them, the teeth in question were filled without issue and with minimal hassle from my son. No extraction or crown was neccessary. The dr there definitely raised an eyebrow when we told him about the previous week's experience. They also took the time to show my son the tools and calm his fears instead of throwing in the towel at the first sign of a fuss. A pediatric dentist should know how to handle a first time, apprehensive, toddler. I guess you truly can not teach experience. read more

I took my daughter here for her first dental visit and I was so happy with the whole experience. Upon entering the office, the environment was child-friendly and the woman at the front desk was welcoming. I was instantly greeted and cared for. I took a seat with my daughter in the waiting area and was able to observe other children at play with the toys, books, and ipads! This dental office really tries to accommodate the children and make their experience a positive one. I didn't have to wait very long at all be be called back. During our appointment, the dentist was very welcoming and warm. She explained everything that was going to happen, and asked if I had any preliminary questions about my daughters visit. My child was greeted and cared for, which I am very happy about - the dentist can be a scary place for a child! I am going to recommend this office to all my friends. I'm actually excited to bring my daughter back when she is older, so she can take advantage of all the fun stuff this office offers their patients! read more
