I could never imagine bringing my kids to another practice. EVERY SINGLE DOCTOR is so kind, compassionate, helpful, and great with kids. I appreciate the diversity of the staff as well. I've been bringing them there since they were 3 days old and they were so encouraging to me as a first time mom with post-partum depression. I don't recall which doctor, but one helped me with the nightmare of breastfeeding. The doctors always take their time at each appointment and don't rush anyone. Oh- the receptionists are soooooo sweet and helpful and truly do their best to get your child a timely appointment. The practice also has an emergency line and you can talk to a doctor after business hours. Oh and the entire office is super clean (and has been prior to covid). Tip: ask the receptionist for a lollipop when leaving the office. They are yummy. read more

We love the doctors at Milestone! The office staff has always been helpful and kind, and the medical team consistently goes above and beyond to ensure our children are receiving great care. My only quibble is with the lack of books. I do wish they would bring back the book bin. I know it takes extra time to wipe the covers down everyday, but a book is very helpful for children to have while they wait. It isn't feasible to bring along our own books. So, while puzzles and other finger-ready toys are enjoyable, I can understand the issue with germ control. But books are easy to care for and make a huge difference for the parent and children waiting. read more

We have been using Milestones for our daughter since she was born; she will be 1 year old on 9/12! We love all of the providers at this office. We have particularly wonderful things to say about Dr. Mona Sadegh, who heard a cardiac murmur at our daughter's 9 month visit and helped us obtain a diagnosis from a cardiologist. Her clinical skills and bedside manner are fantastic. Every provider at milestones has been responsive, caring, compassionate and just wonderful with helping us navigate the first year of our daughter's life.. and parenthood! I don't think I can say enough wonderful things about Milestones Pediatrics. The medical care is top notch. Their recommendations are evidenced based. The nursing staff are supportive and make even my most nervous child relaxed. The management allows this team to practice without the red tape so many practices get wrapped up in. Milestones has been absolutely amazing throughout our entire time with them. Our daughter was born a preemie during the worst period in 2020 and we never once felt unsafe going to the office. They are always a phone call away to answer any questions at any time. They even call to check in after a sick visit. Every doctor and nurse is caring and helpful! Our favorite is Dr. Sadegh. We have been to all four doctors at Milestones and have loved every one of them. They are really helpful and thorough and being a first time mom they have helped put me at ease! The receptionists are always friendly when I call to make appointments and the nurses are always so good with my daughter before her vaccines. I'm so glad we started coming here! read more

Horrible, rude, condescending front desk. In trying to make an emergency appointment for my son for what I thought at the time was an allergic rash was such a horrible experience that I would not recommend this place. The condescending tone was truly amazing. I honestly think the doctors are good but if you can get past the front desk and the office manager with out them making you feel like your bothering them or them making you feel like your an idiot your good. The lady was actually arguing with me telling me my son was a year older than I said he was.......They had his birthday correct in the system and his birth certificate and was saying that his correct age was a year older than what I said he was........contemplate that......(????) When I first found this office I was in LOVE and would have recommended it to anyone. It's bright, clean, has night and weekend appointments, and the doctors are all young and very nice. After going there for 6 months- I have also noticed the following: * If you make an appointment during night or weekends, double check the billing codes that they will use with your insurance. I now receive bills for the difference that my insurance does not pay for the different "after hour" billing code that they use. Although they have signs up in the office, it would be nice for someone to actually point it out when you make an appointment. When you aren't made aware and you do not get a bill until months later- you would think that those signs do not pertain to you or your insurance. * Although they have weekend hours, they do not use these for "well visits". If you plan on taking your infant to their monthly checkup- be prepared to go during normal business hours. *If you think you are taking your sick baby into the office on a weekend- make note that you can not make that appointment in advance. That appointment has to be called in on the same day at 9am when they open. * I seem to get random bills for amounts not covered by my insurance. Such as a bill for a depression check for my 12 year old during a routine physical. When i asked what this was, they told me a piece of paper that my daughter filled out to answer some questions and it wasn't covered by insurance. This is the only doctors office that i am constantly receiving small random bills for things not covered by insurance. One of my coworkers also has her son in the office and she received a bill for a bandaid. BANDAID! The front desk and billing people are not the friendliest. I'm really sad that my experience keeps going in this direction because I really loved this office at first.. but now they are showing their true colors. read more

This office obviously doesn't want new patients! Made an appointment for vaccinations. Our children's pediatrician changed offices, didn't have the ones we needed before school and we were entertaining closer pediatricians. When we walked into the office the front desk was on the phone arguing with another patient in such a rude, combative and aggressive way I almost walked out then. When we were called in by the nurse, told her we were here for vaccinations and gave her the scripts from our doctor she replied rudely that they "Were not urgent care" and were we "planning on being new patients or they wouldn't give the vaccinations." She then said the office doesn't treat "partially vaccinated kids" One child needed one and the other child needed two to be up to date for the new school year and we had scripts for them!! Unnecessarily rude and condescending. Don't waste your time however do check out the lovely urgent care they just opened up around the corner in Oakland. read more

I just wanted to thank the staff of Milestones again for all that they have done for my daughter. I have never in my life seen a more complicated process for getting my daughter's medically necessary formula. Meg, from their office has made countless phone calls to my insurance as well as back and forth with me making sure that it is all covered. This process has taken over one month and she never gave up! And thank you to Eve who helped get some samples from the rep to hold us over while the process was completed. I am so very grateful for their attentiveness to my daughter who has needed a few extra eyes on her. I would recommend them again and again. read more

Horrible careless staff. I call to make an appointment because my 2 month old is sick and the girl on the phone tells me, "Sorry it shows your inactive we can't make an appointment for you, if you feel its urgent take your baby to an urgent care." WHAT?! I was just there 2 weeks prior for my baby's 2 month wellness visit. I don't understand how I am "inactive" 2 weeks later. I ask to talk to the doctor and she tells me. "I already spoke to the doctor and that's what she told me to tell you." I get a call a few days later from the office manager who says "I can only say I am sorry cause I wasn't there, and we never turn away patients.. will you be returning?" Ummmm despite any possible error of miscommunication.. you lost me at "take your child to an urgent care." What type of Doctor's office says that??! And I still don't understand how I am "showing inactive" but I keep getting checkup reminders via email!!! read more

I have been going to milestones for 4 years now.. and I will never return again. This was the fourth consecutive time I waited a ridiculous amount of time for an appt. Yesterday, I waited 21/2 hours for my two kids appointments! no sense of urgency what so ever and so disorganized. It's a shame because I LOVE dr Tierney.. and the nurses are amazing but the rest of the staff and doctors.. HORRIBLE! PS. Dr. Michaels called me back to "apologize" for making me and my three kids wait so long... and instead gave me excuses such as " I'm sorry I've been seeing patients straight for five hours, I'm sorry I needed some pineapple because I felt light headed, I'm sorry there was a patient with a life and death emergency" SERIOUSLY?!?! Just say sorry I messed up. And guess what I was there waiting for half of the time "you were seeing patients five hours straight" Horrible. Never again. read more

After 2 years and 2 trips to the ER, 24 hours after my child was in their care, I called it. When we first started going they took their time and you could tell they genuinely cared about the kids. As they grew bigger I feel like it changed and it was more about their business, turning through kids, then taking care of the child's health . I took my daughter to see the DR on a Friday and they cleared her saying she was going to be fine (after having the flu and a double ear infection). She ended up in the hospital that weekend. I thought, ok, it happens (twice, first time it was strep) so I called them for a follow up for that Monday. I was running 10 minutes late and my husband called and explained I was getting my hospital discharge papers, that I left home, and would be ten minutes late. They said "no problem". As I walked in the door, exactly ten minutes late, they told me I would need to come back and they could no longer see my kid. She was covered in a rash, head to toe! Pleading with them to see her they said I would need to come back, so I asked for my files. My new doctor is great, diagnosed her correctly, treated her correctly and has way better office hours. By that I mean sick kids don't need an appointment, you walk in and are guaranteed to be seen. With milestone, a ten minute window and a diagnosis with the wrong prognosis is common (in my experience)! read more

Wonderful doctors! We've seen almost all of them. They are caring and take their time to assess the situation and to talk with you. Office staff are courteous and professional. If you need to be seen the same day, they will work with you if it's urgent. I am so glad I found them. read more

Been using milestone for almost 5 years for my 3 kids. Highly recommend this practice. The doctors and staff are very accomadating and friendly and knowledgeable. When I had a preemie during flu season, they were so protective of him...it showed how much they love and care for each of their patients! All four of my kids have been patients of Milestones Pediatrics for over 4 years. We loved the doctors. They have always been thorough with my kids visits. In the last year or so, I feel like the office has been nickel and dime me for every possible procedure. They perform all these tests and screening during your child's annual visit, and they do not let you know that its not covered by insurance , until you get a bill in the mail. I have called my insurance company, and they told me the tests were not necessary. And if you do not pay your bill within 30 days, they will charge you a $10 late charge on top of your bill. They performed a screening on my teenager that I was not aware of during her physical, it was done without my consent. The only way I found out about it, I received a bill in the mail. I loved the office at first because it felt they were caring, it does not seem like that anymore. read more

We have been going to Milestones since my son was born in Oct. 2013. In June 2016, I had my second son. I cannot say enough good things about this office. All the doctors have been professional, calm, patient, and loving toward both my children. They are extremely attentive to my questions/concerns as well. No question is a dumb question. Whenever one of my sons is sick, they fit us in within a couple hours of calling. And when I've called their answering service in the middle of the night, they call back within 10-15 minutes, and are extremely helpful offering advise on how to provide relief for my sick child. The new office in Oakland is very clean--they even have a dedicated room for breastfeeding mothers! We've never had a long wait in the waiting room, but even if we did, I don't think my son would mind, as he loves sitting at the kiddy table and playing with the puzzles and flipping through the picture books. read more
