Stumbled upon this restaurant as we got off our shuttle. They have some nice tables outside with heaters. However, we were a little chilled so opted for indoor seating. So glad we did! Our server, Stephanie was really top notch. She was so friendly and provided us with great service during our lunch. We had been told to try a BC wine (since we are from California) - so we tried the McWatters Chardonnay. It did not disappoint and complemented our meal nicely. Our family went right around New Years Eve so the Christmas lights were still going at the Parliament building and around the waterfront giving off a nice view from the restaurant. We went during happy hour and my wife had a Bellini ($5) and an Expresso Martini ($10), parmesan fries ($5), and a Baja fish taco ($12). It was delayed from the res rod my table as the first choice I made had dairy and I can't eat that. I was surprised they didn't push my order faster to catch up. Get a booth next to the window for great views of the Empress Hotel, the Legislative Building, and the busy water taxis buzzing about the harbor. I recommend the Baja fish tacos. The basa fish is a "creamy" white fish that goes well with the aioli, avocado, and tomato. The sweet potato fries are done right, crispy and not too crispy and well-seasoned. Other dishes that my party enjoyed: sirloin steak (rated VERY good) and the portobello mushroom chicken. The sushi bowl with ahi tuna was so-so. The rice in particular is not quite the right consistency for a sushi dish. The ever hard to find double chocolate cookie also makes an appearance here. The dining room is wonderfully appointed and the menu feels sturdy and refined. Yes, I'm recognizing the menu and how it feels in the hands as it's reflective of the restaurant itself. Love this spot on the waterfront in downtown Victoria. It's the perfect location, especially if you arrive by ferry or float plane to the harbor--just walk right over! There's a finer dining restaurant space upstairs and downstairs, plus a beautiful outdoor patio just feet from the water with a super fun vibe, especially in the summer. The food is exceptional--it really never fails. It serves as comfort food that's better than anything you could ever make at home with a fine dining fusion twist. You must try a Bellini if you haven't before--they're the best and so refreshing in the summer. I had the pulled pork bao buns, and they were delicious. The service and food were just ok. The mixed drinks are pricey, and they served just half of them, as you can see in the picture. The food was just ok. I believe the high prices of all were due to the fact that the location is waterfront. BTW, they have a posted menu at the front door that is no longer available, so be aware that you'll be seeing a different menu upon sitting. While walking around downtown, we spotted Milestones from afar. Starving, we decided to give this place a shot before heading back to the cruise ship. Upon entry, I couldn't help but notice the modern decor and view of the Inner Harbor. The day was bright and sunny, which made it perfect to eat and savor the beauty of downtown and the harbor. No apps today since we had to eat and run, so I ordered the Chimichurri sea bass. The fish was tender with the perfect sear. Chimichurri sauce was creamy and delicious, not overpowering. I was a tad disappointed that the dish had white rice instead of the quinoa and rice pilaf as listed on the menu, which was part of the reason I picked this dish. The quinoa goat cheese and beet salad tasted like one I'd had at Earl's. If you like Earl's, it's a safe bet you'll like this place. It's pricey, just like Earl's. When I asked for the gluten free noodles they "didn't have them anymore". They were still. listed on the menu though. It was suggested I try the rice noodles but it might not be good without the gluten containing sauce or the this or the that without the sauce that makes the dish.
