    Tuscan parm

Service was slow and food was mediocre.. however they had only one bartender/server and it was one of the only options on the island. We got most of the pasta items - ravioli, chicken parm, chicken Marsala, and Tuscan chicken. All extremely bland paired with overcooked pasta. The bread pairing was tasty though. I recommend that the chef plays more with spices and blends the sauce in with the pasta rather than leaving it on top. It did the job for sure but it could do with some improvements.

The most delicious heirloom tomatoes I've had this year started off our dinner... Though the Blue Heron Bistro has only just opened up, their kitchen is doing great things already. The dishes we had there were delicious and the location is fantastic. I believe they are trying out different dishes right now so the menu may be changing over the next several weeks or months. Since it's been only a matter of days since they have been fully opened, they are still in the process of familiarizing new staff. The owners seem to be very engaged in this process and their staff is very diligent, so I'm sure they will sort out their processes in short order. If you decide to go, consider going for lunch or arriving early for dinner. The arrival of Blue Heron Bistro seems to have been eagerly anticipated by many people. We arrived early one Monday afternoon around 4:15pm. When we left around 5:15pm, there were already a good number of people waiting at the door for a table.

I'll admit the first time we came here I was not very impressed! But now that they have their wheels under them and I've been back a few times since, I must say that this place doesn't disappoint! It's one of the only restaurants consistently open on Lopez besides the Islander. The last time we were in we had the tomato basil burrata which was delicious. Yesterday we had the special of the day which was salmon and it was amazing! Service is kind of slow but sitting out on the deck is so nice that it's not really a big deal. I'm glad Lopez has another option besides the Islander; this place is great.

Mother's Day 2024. Visited this amazing place and was totally blown away but the atmosphere, the people ( all the J's ) the service and the FOOD! We had just found the place on our morning sightseeing drive and thought it looked promising. Without reservations, we were invited to sit at the bar and enjoy the goings on. I've never seen 5-6 people in such a small kitchen wove so fluidly together, like a well coordinated dance. And the food was spectacular to say the least. I had the Shrimp Po Boy and my wife had the Crab Melt. Both were perfectly prepared and presented to us. For Mothers Day my wife splurged and had a Bloody Mary. Jessica made an awesome Bloody Mary and I even got a sip. Thanks again to Jessica. Jennifer, Jason the chef, Ted and other who made this such memorable dining experience!!!!

Amazing food! Went when they had a special and I enjoyed every last bit. So worth the drive! Very excited to go back and taste more of the menu. Service was great with very friendly staff, in a comfy and calm environment.

This is a must go every week for me. I love brunch at the Bistro. They treat me like I belong there and make me feel welcome every time. They have amazing specials that change. Jerry's Chicken Marsala is a must have. Jen has the most creative cocktails that compliment meals. The holiday cocktails are the best of the best. I'm excited to see what they do this year.

Our party of three visited for lunch at noon on a Thursday. Since we had a reservation, we were seated immediately at a lovely table right by the window. The atmosphere was great, and the staff were incredibly courteous and friendly throughout our meal. We initially thought about starting with some small plates, but we were so eager for seafood that we jumped straight into the entrees. We weren't disappointed: Bouillabaisse: This was our first time trying this dish, and it was the highlight for us. It was incredibly flavorful--exactly what we were craving. Spicy Prawn Mac and Cheese: It definitely lived up to its name! It wasn't "blow-your-head-off" hot, but it had a perfect, noticeable kick that really elevated the dish. Blackened Cod Tacos: These were fantastic. The cod was perfectly prepared and worked so well with the rest of the taco ingredients. We also enjoyed a couple of non-alcoholic drinks that hit the spot, though I'll admit that since I'm writing this a couple of weeks later, I forgot to snag photos or the specific names of the drinks! They also have a really nice patio area if you prefer dining outdoors. Whether you're a seafood lover or just looking for a great meal with a view, this place is a must-visit!

Better print some more up! Lovely table outside. Nice wine selection. The local oysters were delicious. Husband loved the crab tater tots. Too heavy with too much sauce for me but that's my preference. Then the problem. We waited for over an hour for our mains. No one popped by to say anything. People around us were getting served and leaving. I'm sure there was some sort of order mixup in the kitchen. Husband loved the bouillabaisse although it had a creamy sauce which is not typical. I ordered the halibut and it was a gorgeous quality piece that was substantial but...the worst thing...overcooked and dry. I wanted to cry because it would have been perfect. Our server even made a point of telling me they cook them to medium rare. I'm thinking this spent a bit of time under the heat lamps. They offered a free dessert for bday which was nice but by then we'd been sitting there over two hours and were just ready to leave. I can deal with the long wait...very crowded and looked a but short staffed. But when they ruined my halibut that made me sad. I would give them a 3 at best but husband liked everything and he was the birthday boy so..

New Leaf Cafe is the nicest restaurant in town that was open those days. TLDR: Breakfast is better than dinner here. Dinner items: - Beet salad - excellent - Clam Pasta - it was good - Vegan Roaster Cauliflower with hummus and harissa sauce - cauliflower was a bit mushy for my taste. - Cod - it was ok, pricey for what it was - Shishito peppers - good - French onion soup - too salty - side of potatoes - delicious Breakfast: - smoked salmon bagel - so good. loved the house-made bagels and house smoked salmon and heirloom tomatoes. This is an elevated smoked salmon bagel. - Mushroom egg omelette - also incredibly delicious. The potatoes that came with it were also so delicious Highly recommend both breakfast entrees. If you had to choose, I would prioritize breakfast over dinner here. Breakfast is also more lovely to enjoy the view and the stained glass and art inside. Although breakfast at Brown Bear Bakery is also wonderful. Service was good for the most part. During one dinner, there was a very long wait between appetizer and our entrees.

We both ordered different glasses of wine - she wanted the sparkling rose but I went with the staffs white wine recommendation - which goes well with seafood and a lot of their menu. Missus liked my wine choice more than hers - but I liked the depth of flavour of her sparkling rose! Clay was the name of our server, who took great care of us this evening. For food we both ordered the "summer menu" - a four-course fixed price menu ($90 each, +$5 if you order beef, which was a 7oz wagyu). I chose the salad, the dry octopus, and the wagyu option; the missus picked the peach tartine, soup, and the halibut. Before the first dish came out, the missus and I both received the "amuse-bouche", which was a nice treat. The starters both came at the same time - carrot soup starter was nice and hot, and the salad was quite good also. The first starter came out - the missus preferred the peach tartine (had a tinge of fishy sardine to it?), I liked my octopus choice. The octopus was bigger than either of us had expected - which was nice. Both wines went well with both dishes. The mains took a bit longer to come out, but one nice thing was that throughout the meal they continued to replace cutlery. The halibut was great, but the wagyu (beef) with broccolini and potatoes (specifically beef) was next level incredible. I'm super impressed by how easily it is to chew and how incredible the flavour is. The potatoes were also quite good - fried, but not "deep fried". The broccolini was also delicious. The wait staff came back with a dessert menu after our mains. The missus picked the twice baked cheese soufflé, and I wanted the chocolate basque cheesecake. Throughout the meal there's an ambiance of a classical music playlist - hard to describe, but it's instrumental (purely). We finished the mains and had picked our fourth (dessert) course by 710pm. The soufflé was quite delicious. I really liked the chocolate basque cheesecake. The biscotti that came wihh the soufflé kinda confused me - it was good on its own but it didn't really enhance anything. The missus found the both equally good. Including both of our glasses of wine, and fixed price menu, it was $217 before tax and tip. I'm kinda shocked this place isn't at least a 4/5 on Yelp. Worth it, in my opinion. Note: no parking, you'd have to street park. Also, one bathroom stall - it's nice but it's only one for the entire restaurant.

It actually kind of 5 course as they gave everyone and initial little bite that the chef put together. I can't quite remember what it was, but I think it was some kind of cauliflower blended bite (see first pic). The price was definitely decent for the four course, it wasn't super expensive or anything. I also tried the goat cheese souflee, which was good, the crab roast was better though, then I had the pasta which needed salt and didnt have much flavor. I will say though that someone got the filet mignon and that was really good. The fondue was basic, but the bread and ice cream was amazing! So biggest takeaway is I think this place is really hit or miss. There's some items that are good/great and others that are really not good/great. So if you come and pick the good stuff I think you'd really enjoy it!
