Excellent and Friendly Therapist:…read more The moment I first walked into this office, I had a good feeling of this place. All their staff was always friendly and made you feel welcomed. I was introduced to my therapist Karly. Karly is an excellent, friendly, and caring therapist. She is very attentive, a great listener, prompt, and always accommodating. She takes the time to explain each exercise and how it helps and benefits your body. She tailors the exercises to your individual needs to help promote healing and recovery as efficiently as possible. Karly carefully gauges the appropriate amount of weight for each exercise and makes adjustments when necessary. She also provides different options, allowing you to choose which exercises are most comfortable while still being effective and beneficial. She monitors your progress during every session and keeps detailed records of your progress on her laptop. She continually evaluates your improvement and adds or changes exercises when needed to make your therapy more effective. I really appreciate her professionalism, knowledge, patience, and genuine concern for helping me improve. Karly goes above and beyond to make every therapy session productive and comfortable. Extremely frustrating experience with Central Oahu Physical Therapy in Aiea…read more When Central Oahu Physical Therapy received my referral for lumbar pain, I waited an entire month just to begin treatment. I was scheduled for four weekly sessions, with my final appointment on 3/31/2026, where the physical therapist was supposed to evaluate whether I needed continued care. However, it makes no logical sense to have an evaluation when there are no further appointments available with the same physical therapist until May -- over a month away. This completely defeats the purpose of the evaluation and continuity of care. I spoke with the telephone receptionist, who also acts as the office manager. Her primary role is reception, yet she presented herself as if she were a decision maker. When I asked to have the owners call me, I was told to look them up on the website. She is not an owner and cannot make final decisions. The owners never called me. Instead, Physical Therapist Erin deNeeve Baum, an employee of Central Oahu Physical Therapy, called and left a message. I chose not to return the call because I did not want to speak with her. Oahu is a very small business community, and in a situation like this, a professional and concerned owner would have made a courtesy call. That did not happen. This office appears to have a serious breakdown in communication between the physical therapists and the front office. Rather than coordinated patient care, it feels like a system where patients are moved through a set number of visits without clear follow-through or continuity. It gives the impression that the focus is on bringing in more patients and generating revenue rather than providing effective, continuous care After four visits -- the first being mostly measurements and only three visits with minimal exercises -- I am still not better. Quite frankly, this was a waste of time. A friend shared exercises given by her own physical therapist that have been more helpful. Also, with today's technology, you would expect more modern patient support. Instead of printed paper exercise sheets, there should be access to a digital platform with guided videos and progress tracking. These types of exercises are easily found online, which makes the lack of added value from this office even more disappointing. If you are considering physical therapy, do your research and look elsewhere. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution against choosing Central Oahu Physical Therapy. You may end up frustrated, delayed in your care, and no better off than when you started. Patients deserve far better.

We knew from the very beginning that this was going to be a long road to recovery, but he was finally able to "graduate" from PT in October 2025, a whole 11 months after his surgery. We are so thankful to Kyle and all the staff at SportsMedicine Aiea for everything they did for my son to help him gain his strength back in his knee. For a whole 11 months, we spent afternoons there 3 days a week, so it really did feel like family there. The front desk staff was always so friendly and helpful and my son had nothing but nice and positive things to say about the therapists there. It was a bittersweet moment when Dr. Oishi told us he didn't have to go to PT anymore. It was great news to hear, but sad at the same time that we never got to say a proper goodbye to the staff at SportsMedicine. So thankful you Kyle and everyone at SportsMedicine, for everything you did to help in Elijah's recovery. We miss you guys, but we hope we never have to visit your clinic again soon

I went there for 3 months and was stuck at 80 degrees. The Doctor then recommended a manipulation under anesthesia and said I needed to go somewhere else for my therapy. I gave in and went to SportsMedicine where I should have gone in the beginning. I was assigned to Steven Tom a professional, knowledgeable, patient and very understanding physical therapist who treats everyone with respect. He had a genuine concern about my other health issues and always inquired on the status. At first I was slow and I resisted taking the initiative to become independent in my routines. Steven and the other therapist steered me towards independent exercises and take ownership for my recover. They all provided me with excellent support and encouragement to move forward. It is a busy place and you might think that you are entirely on you own in your task however, if you are not doing your routines correctly or are hesitant one of the therapist will come over to assist and help with necessary corrective action. They may be busy but they all are aware of what is going on with everyone. The front office have been very accommodating, professional and friendly. I do not want to have this kind of surgery again but if needed I would not hesitate to come here again. Thank Steven and staff.

They do validate your parking but you still have to pay. Other than that, the staff is very professional starting from the front person (who is very efficient)to therapist. On our first visit, the therapist welcomed us with a handshake. The staff here take their job seriously but friendly too. The facility is clean and tidy. They also give you homework to exercise at home. That just make sense to get better quickly.

My appointment started on time and Briana was my therapist. She took the time to go over what I needed, what we were going to do, what I was going to need to do and what results I could expect. Unfortunately I've undergone physical therapy in the past, back on the mainland and this was most professional and attentive therapy I've ever received. I am writing this review because it is incredible and inexcusable to me that this office can ignore…read moretheir own patients. I broke my foot in three places and was in a lot of pain. I saw Dr. Harris who I have to say was excellent. He took care of my broken foot and also injected my knee and my hip and solved some other issues. However, my broken foot was extremely painful. I took pain medication as per prescribed, I do not like pain medication so I tried to not take it as much as possible. However, at the beginning my foot was so painful I could not put any pressure on it or sleep however, when I needed more pain medication this office completely ignored me. I called several times and I was told someone would get back to me and they never did. I was without medication for an entire week and almost had to go to the emergency room, I just laid in my bed and waited it out until somebody called me one week later! When I told Dr. Harris what was happening he apologized. However, this same scenario repeated itself a month later I wanted to come in and get an injection in my foot so that I would not need any more medication, but I could not get an appointment and I also was having a lot of trouble walking, I called the office and asked for some pain medication and an appointment. They would not refill my prescription unless I came. I was ready willing and able to come in but I could not get an appointment! Then the doctor was going on vacation so I asked if I could at least get something to get me through the week so I could work and then I would come in. No answer. Then the doctor came back from vacation and I tried to get into see him but I could not get an appointment. I asked to speak to him on the phone and they said they would call me back and they didn't. He also told me to message him through the portal which I did, now it is Friday and I couldn't bear to go another weekend without any medication to help me walk. I messaged him in the portal. They read the message at 1 o'clock in the afternoon and no one ever got back to me. So here it is another weekend where I will have to lie in my bed because I cannot walk without pain. This is nothing short of malpractice, and I am disgusted with this office and their lack of communication. I saw another doctor in this orthopedic group several years ago for another broken bone and she was amazing. She always called me back when I called and she checked up on me after surgery. If I was in pain, she gave me advice and told me what to do prescribing whatever I needed in addition to physical therapy. As I said , Dr. Harris is technically very good and he seems to be a very nice guy, but his talents are wasted in an office with little to no communication. I will be finding another orthopedic doctor.
