With so many vendors and a great variety of antiques and collectibles, there's always something new and the prices are very fair, considering shopping on ebay withbadded shipping costs,I unfortunately I don't have enough time every week.. I get about an hour to shop. :( It's become part of my Wednesday routine: coffee first at Uncharted Adventures right next door, then over to Mill Creek to see what Batman memorabilia I can find. We found this on yelp and decided to stop by. There's a little parking lot but they also had street parking. This place a huge so take walking shoes. It's very clean as well as all the items sold here. They had a ton of antiques and some new things. We were able to find some fun things here. Came back into Bakersfield for a visit and to do some antique shopping. Thought we'd start downtown with some old favorites. Mill Creek was one of my favorites, where I never left without spending a couple hundred dollars. We were politely greeted by some new faces, however about two booths into it we started noticing there weren't too many booths with actual antiques. A lot of "themed" booths with new items. I found a NEW , currently popular game for sale. When I went to check out, I asked "Has this place sold in the past 5 years?" They replied, "yes it has why?" I said " That's to bad, it's discouraging that there aren't many antiques!" The individual replied, "TIMES CHANGE!" If you are looking for ANTIQUES, this is NOT where you go to shop! read more

Came in for the first time on a Saturday. Walked and was greeted right away! Pretty large mall with lots of vendors. Lots of interesting items and a great way to spend a few hours in a Saturday. In this visit they didn't have as much cool stuff ( in my opinion) than some of the others antique stores but I'm sure that changes daily. It was clean and the staff was friendly. Not from the area at all just passing through, but we love antiques and had to come in. Wonderful customer service! The store is easy to navigate through and beautifully displayed items. Came across an item that was on sale so I snatched it up rather quickly. My husband left with some really cool Hawaiian style shirts. As always I got a Disney item and even my younger daughter spent her own money here. If I'm ever in the area again, we will definitely stop by. Hands Down BEST Antique Mall in Kern County! I am a collector of uranium glass and I pretty much always leave with something for my hutch when I come in here! Compared to other antique stores in town, I find the prices to be much lower for my beloved glass pieces here. I have had nothing but good interactions with staff here and have even conversed with several of the individual booth owners when they were there tidying up. Side note -- this place is dog friendly, but you are advised to inform staff before walking in with a dog. Also, the booths are very tight, and they are full of delicate, fragile items, so you may reconsider bringing a large or rambunctious dog in.. read more

pretty nice antique store in bakersfield and it's on the corner so you can't miss it. i've been in here a few times and it's huge, there's an upstairs to it as well! this store offers a great selection of items ranging from vintage toys, books, cds/vinyls, clothes, house decor and other cool items. i didn't have any experience on customer service since i hadn't bought anything. i will say that this store is a bit on the pricey side of antique goods. there's a good amount of name brand stuff in there for a little high of a price but even the no name brand items are costly as well. bakersfield doesn't offer many sight sores but this store is a great place to visit if you're around. there's so many items to choose from and many collectibles as well. i'd definitely go back and easily spend another hour looking at anything new in stock read more

WARNING! Before you enter - make sure you are prepared for being scammed! I found out the hard way and was a victim. They allow and support their dealers to place delicate glass ware on boxes below the knee with the goal for you to knock it over and pay for it. I have been an avid goer of antique shopping for many years and am mad at myself for falling for it. I found out through a friend that this happened so often at this place, the staff know exactly what booth it is without leaving their desks. That is what makes it a scam. I know there are mostly good dealers and malls out there, it only takes a small few to ruin a great place. And this place SUPPORTS bad behavior. So, if you still decide to go there... look from a distance, turn slowly and try not to breathe hard. read more

This mall is always a fun buying experience. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable, the booths are well curated and clean and each dealer takes care of their booth well (dusting, rearranging, updating). The inventory is always revolving and fresh, decorated appropriately to the season with thoughtfulness. I have enjoyed seeing the dealers grow and change over the years and especially enjoy Millie the dog and the playfulness she adds to the atmosphere. If you haven't checked out this Bakersfield gem you must. This mall is one of many, all on one street, and you are sure to find a unique treasure. My only idea for improvement is a little more lighting in some of the darker booths, hard with those old buildings, but necessary especially down the far left row. read more

YOU WANT IT, THEY'VE GOT IT: Here is one of the best antique stores in Bakersfield. They also have an upstairs that is full of collectibles for your kids and the older kids like me. The owners are nice and if the dog likes you, your part of the family. Well, even if the dog doesn't like you. Lol. I try to stop in about 2 to 3 times a month. Lately once a week. They have so much to pick from. Clean, not clustered, and friendly, describes this place to a tee. And did I mention they sponsor the Gaslight Melodrama here in Bakersfield. Right now during the pandemic, the only operating Melodrama in California. You'll find that going here will make for a great day and you never know when something will catch your eye that you just have to have. I do not give 5 Star Rating so this one is a 20 Star Rating. Was back in town visiting. Stopped by to take a looksy. They really do have a wide range of unique findings. BUT..... the price tags on some things are really far fetched. I found a really cute leather bag but thought the price was pretty steep. I took it up to the cash register to ask them if by any chance the price is negotiable. They said they can do 10 percent off. Which did not make much of a difference in the price. After carefully inspecting the bag I noticed it had some rips. smh. I gladly placed it back in it's place. Considering some of these things aren't "new" obviously. Shouldn't the price tags at least reflect the conditions of the items? read more

This antique huge; it even has an upstairs. There are many different vendors displaying their wares, each in their own little area. There are vintage crooners singing over public address system: Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, etc. It really sets a mood. There is a LOT of inventory in this place, and it is artfully displayed. I love antiques but I didn't find anything on this trip to take home. I'm redecorating two rooms, but in very specific themes and just didn't see anything that worked in either one. First time visiting this place. I just learned about Second Saturday Bakersfield and this store participated in it. It has different vendor sections and each vendor indicates discounts from 20-50% on second Saturday event! That made it fun to shop, lots cool items and the staff is very nice and helpful. Bakersfield has many antique shops and should be seen as a destination with lunch in between. Mill Creek is a standard, old style set up with dealer booths. Varied inventory, pricing fair and I always walk away with several things. Another great thing they have going for them is the personnel, four legged and otherwise. Owner friendly, not overbearing and very accommodating. He makes it a joy to mill around mill Creek. It is ALWAYS one of my stops :) read more

I had Mill Creek Antiques restore a Dixie Oak for me that's been in my family for years. They had to replace some metal on the stove due to rust & do some minor welding/grinding in a few different spots which in my opinion they did do a good job. However there were several things that I wasn't so pleased about. I sent several pics of my stove (approx. 10-15) before I made the 2 hr drive to have it done in order to get a ball park price on cost. Over the phone I was quoted a price of $1200 but once I drove the 2 hours they told me it would be $1870. This upset me because I felt like now they've got me out here and I've spent this money on fuel, time, etc. but I felt confident in what they could do. I did not want to sacrifice quality as it was very important to me so I went ahead and agreed to that price. They did tell me that the finial I had on my stove was not the correct one but he would try to find one. I asked how much and he said it all depended on how much he could get it for and that he would call me to let me know. Several months later, no insult to them as he did tell me it would take several months, I went to pick up my stove. My Father was excited to see so he went too. Upon arriving we were shown the stove which looked good initially but after really inspecting my dissapointment began. There were several areas on the stove that weren't even polished all the way. After I pointed this out he offered to give me a free tube of polish. Sure this is something that can be fixed but why should I be the one to do it when I paid top dollar to have them do it. There were also several areas where the nickel plating was cosmetically bad and they could have done a better job. After several minutes of awkward conversation I figured it would be just as easy to just go on my way so my Father and I started to load up the stove. As we loaded it several of the decorative nickel plated pieces began to fall off. The screws that hold them down had not even been fastened down tightly. We finally managed to load it without damaging any of the pieces that were falling off and I then went to locate the accessories that I had them restore for me as well. As I was doing this I did notice the finial on top was different so I assumed he had just included this on the cost as I never heard anything from him but upon asking him about it he said he was "just" going to charge me an additional $375 for the correct finial. I explained to him that he was supposed to call me before they went ahead and purchased a finial and had it nickle plated. His response to this was "well if you dont want it I can take it off" & in the manner he said it wasn't very kind. I tried to explain to him that he was missing what I was trying to get across to him but I finally just said thats fine and told him I needed to grab my accessories. He looked at me funny and said what accessories. I explained to him what I was talking about and he said well we will have to go back in the back and find them. After 45 minutes of looking he finally found everything that was mine except for one poker & unfortunately there were several things that were not nickel plated like they should have been so he offered to take off $150 for the cost of the nickel plating. I walk to the front to pay the lady who rings me up & wants to charge me tax on my entire bill, including their labor??? I inquired about the tax and they gave me some excuse about how they charge tax to everybody. I really just wanted to leave so I paid the lady, she handed me my reciept and I left. This was a horrible experience and I would never refer anyone to these people. I felt ripped off. Sure I could have refused to pay & then what, they would have kept my stove. I could have left it with them so they could have fixed the cosmetic problems but then what, they come up with another way to tack on another 3 or 4 hundred & I have to make another 2 hour trip out there. read more
