Had a little time to kick around before meeting a friend for lunch and decided to stop in. I really enjoyed checking out the scene. Stopped in this downtown shop to do some antique shopping. They had a big selection of items. Some items are reasonably priced but some are overpriced. This shop is huge imo. I went in for their record selection but found some other things I can call my treasure. Im a hardcore antique fan and cannot believe I hadn't been to this place before! My visit was cut short as I was "wfh " and received a call, but I absolutely loved strolling thru this antique store and browsing all their stuff! They have a basement and it shows the tunnels that are known to run across downtown, but they are barred off. They have a great selection of Christmas items and the two giant nutcrackers really make the place feel festive during the holidays. I'll definitely be coming back to buy some items I saw. read more

A wonderful antique mall - more like antique Mall of America - that is always a go to whenever I am in town! They have a little bit of everything! My mom found two tiki mugs she had never seen before, and I got the cutest gothic dress - vastly different items, same place! The place is unbelievably massive and sprawling! It's attached to a candy shoppe and was built on a mine and still has the mine shafts! How cool of a place is that!? They offer a little of everything, they don't try and stick with a theme. The ladies - I'm sure there are men - who run the place are the sweetest ever! And I know they can't help this, but even the other shoppers tend to be so nice! This is a really strange store. So much mish mash of items that are new and vintage. It's more like a thrift store vibe with insanely high retail prices. I shop at antique malls several times a week and this is one of my least favorite stops I've made across the US. I couldn't find anything I wanted to buy at a reasonable price point. I hope the owners work with their vendors to encourage a better curation of items and perhaps price things reasonably, or at least at retail price and below. Would skip this location if shopping in Bakersfield. read more

i love the decor and emphasis on how it is above the mines. i think the customer service is great, they have a lot of cool antiques and some great clothing finds. I have to admit some of the graphic T shirts they have are overpriced, its a thrift store so it should be more affordable for a basic t-shirt but other than that they have a lot of amazing stuff!! read more

Pretty nice, there's a basement, an upstairs, a candy shop??? Everything you could ever want in an antique store! I didn't have anyone follow me around, the basement is nice, there's bird sounds (sometimes). Before you go downstairs to the basement, there's an old fashioned "kitchen" but it's mostly old food. The basement is filled with toys, clothes, and oh, did I mention and old timed movie theater? Yeah. Near the checkout, there's some jewelry and bags. This mall has so much to offer! I'm confident to say that everyone would find something they would love. I could easily spend hours in there and still not be done looking around. it's a little crammed but I had no problem getting around. The candy store that is connected to the store has a ton of super cool treats! I got around 5 pieces of baby clothing that came out to $30. My only complaint comes from when it came time to check out. There were two ladies that were standing at the counter who were having a conversation and completely ignored me and my friend when I said hello. They grabbed our items and then barked the price at us, then went back to their conversation. On my way out though I heard them actually greet the people behind us. Maybe they just didn't like me. Whatever. Considering my experience, I probably won't be back unless I have a reason to, and even then there are many other antique stores in the area who might treat me like I actually exist. read more

Some of my friends can't go in here because they feel its haunted. With a building this old with so much history, it's not surprising. Lucky for me, I have never honed my 6th sense and plan to never do so! This place is huge, I love roaming around here. The bottom floor is probably my favorite place to be in, and they had a bit of fun with it. There are little rooms with various different items. Having the vintage pieces against the bare brick walls gives an otherworldly feel. I cant say too much since its been a few months since I was last there, but definitely check this place out! There is Free Parking right out in front. This place is Huge with Oodles & Oodles of Cool Memorabilia. Maybe you'll get Lucky & even find a vintage Decoration to add to your holiday Christmas tree. They even have records, & some Vintage Clothes upstairs for men but mostly features women clothing from a bygone era. There's so much Great Stuff in here that harkens you back to an easier time & life. There is so much Eye Candy in Merry Go Round, it will have your head spinning. What's cool about coming here to Bakersfield is that you don't visit just one shop for an hour or so you can make an entire day out of it for very little cash. It's like it's own little Vintage District all within walking distance like Timeless Furnishings & others too. Also you have to go directly across the street & dine at the last Woolworth's Luncheonette Counter in the whole USA in an old Woolworth's Department store. The employees are very helpful and friendly. The selection is far beyond anything I can say. There is lots and lots to look at. I was looking for centerpieces and found so many lovely things I had to put some back or build a larger house!!!! If they don't have it, it probably hasn't been made. One of my favorite shops! I love entering this building, immediately greeted by staff. I love the music playing in the background throughout the store. I was carrying some items for purchase a few times, and staff always ask me if they can hold it for me at the front. I haven't been to any shops in a while, but will be stopping by later today to see if I can find some gems! I, too, get an eerie feeling in this shop, along with the others. It's an old building, plus you're browsing in old items and personal effects. Of course those feelings will happen. Oh this place! I so enjoy coming here on a day off to scour the multi-levels of antiques! The layout of this store is pretty great. Many vendors with lots of sales and styles run the gambit. One of my absolute favorite shabby chic vendors is there and I always find great home decor and furniture here. There is a good selection of outdoor furniture too. So what sets this place apart is the basement floor. The thematic elements of a coal mine and a theater make this place different from any other antique store in town. You kinda have to see it to get it. There is a separate organized room of vintage clothes, handbags, and hats as well. On a side note this place is really creepy and while walking around I noticed an eery feeling like someone was watching me. Not sure whether it was an associate or something else.
