Stopped here for a treat in the heat the other day. Decided to get some ice cream. The size/amount of ice cream that you get is a lot so that's amazing. It's a little shop with candy, cookies, beverages and of course ice cream. The customer service was lacking as she seems as she was irritated and didn't want to be at work that day. The ice cream was good but not sure it will get a return visit.

Life is much better with ice cream in hand. Recently, my friend and I were exploring historic Occoquan District when we happened across this cute spot after noticing the store sign along the street. Upon entering the shop, we were instantly greeted by a sweet lady and a timeless interior full of vibrant candies, fun sodas, and mouth-watering desserts. She kindly encouraged us to sample any flavors they had and, WOW, never have I been so pleasantly surprised after sampling an ice cream. My friend and I both got the Southern Blackberry Cobbler on cones, which had a delightful blackberry flavor as well as addicting pie crust bites -- the perfect summer treat! We enjoyed them outside on the deck, which was especially lovely in the cool, afternoon weather. Hands down, one of the best ice cream flavors we have tried in the area, yet! Thankful to have come across Mill Street Sweets and looking forward to exploring more next time!

This was added this past summer and I had NO idea! It's a candy dreamland!

So we have come here for ice cream many times and I'm really wondering how I never posted a review! Their ice cream is amazing I mean cmon blue bell. But we walked in today and saw this candy land splendor!!! My kids were of course wide eyed and ready to buy all the things. They had some interesting candy we had never seen before (bought it of course). I being an adult was able to look past the candy and saw the selection of drinks. Okay maybe not much of an adult thing since all I took pictures of was the *unusual* beverages.... they had plenty of normal drinks but I failed to take a picture of those amidst my giggling at mustard-flavored and enchilada flavored sodas. I mentioned in the pictures but it's also pretty cool they have a make your own bag of jelly bellys, if you only like buttered popcorn for some reason have at it!

So the owner just bought the place in June, after retiring for about 18 months. He told me it's been super busy, except for when Ian made its way through our area. I had the double scoop in a cup, with the sea salt caramel (supposedly the most populate flavor) and the strawberry. Twas very good!

Blue Bell Ice Cream! My favorite all time. Definitely try the black berry cobbler on a waffle cone!

At the front display, they have some good varieties of European and other international chocolates and candies. Unfortunately, the wrappers did not look very new. Whenever I pass by this store (literally hundreds of times), it usually has one person stocking, maintaining, and processing sales orders. So, it sometimes doesn't look that great/very presentable. It makes me wonder if/when they rotate the items. I don't ever see any large signs for new items or discount/bargain signs for their popular candies. That's why I never ventured into this store. Today is the first day to actually peruse and purchase something small and sweet since I didn't want anything as big as an ice cream cone. Today may be the last day I venture there. Btw, I purchased a British candy bar since I had not have a Maltese in a very long time.

Once we had made a comment that we were not buying that big box she had taken the box off and still charged me 24.95. I wasn't worried about the money that I was paying but it's the principle of her doing it. I did not appreciate that whatsoever.

So glad they still had an impressively wide selection at the end of the festival as many venders ran out. The Giant Peanut Butter Cup is very decadent with rich dark chocolate and creamy peanut butter. Just a couple of bites was more than satisfying and paced myself and able to devour the cup over a few days. The Dark Chocolate Covered Mint Oreo was delicious and my pick over the Dark Chocolate Covered Oreo, which didn't taste that different from a normal Oreo. Of the truffles, the Raspberry and Dark Chocolate Ganache were my favorites. The Hazelnut truffle was fun to try and reminded me of a Ferraro Rocher hazelnut truffles. I miss seeing Capital Candy Jar at the farmer's markets as many have shut down and excited to see them at more festivals and events post pandemic. Looking forward to seeing them again and coming back for more delicious sweet treats!

That being said, I had a really great experience here the other day! I bought some gifts for my family and loved the selection. Lots of unique candies, Washington landmark Oreos, political party Oreos, ice cream and more. I snagged a few things to send my family for Christmas and can't wait for them to receive them!
