I had a good time, and would definitely recommend coming here at least once, but I may wait awhile before coming again. Mainly because trying to find parking near this market is insane. That, and I wasn't necessarily blown away by any one particular vendor. I highly suggest coming early or parking a little ways down - since come 6:00pm - Downtown San Rafael is a madhouse. As far as clothing and jewelry vendors - I didn't see too much that stood out to me personally, but it was still fun to browse. The Food vendors were very friendly. I tried a mini vanilla Teeny Cake, which was probably the highlight of my stroll-through. The fruit looked delicious and I loved that so many of the fruit vendors had samples out. White nectarines, peaches, and plums - juicy and perfectly ripe were everywhere. I watched a number of mellow soulful musical performances, before turning the corner and heading to Sol Food for some Mango Iced Tea and plantains. I'm so glad that these early night Farmers Markets exist. It's an incredible way to bring together a diverse group of people in a warm and genuine way. Would definitely recommend- if you happen to be in the area on an upcoming Thursday.

The one thing I do like about this Thursday evening market is the deep discounts that go on close to the 8 p.m. closing time. Linger around, then pounce on those $1/pound nectarines, plums, and peaches. Grab 3 flower bouquets for $10. Get a mess of end of summer/end of night tomatoes. They have the usual fruits and vegetables, an assortment of okay food, live LOUD music on the little square beside Arizmendi Bakery, inflatable jumpy things at one end, and mostly forgettable jewelry/clothes/junque at the other end. No dogs allowed here, even on a leash. You will be stopped, so don't even bother trying.

I…read morehaven't been to this market in years and to be honest don't feel like driving up on a Sunday when it's super busy but taking the train on a workweek day was perfect. It was difficult to choose where to eat for lunch is all the options look delicious- I decided to choose the place having the longest line which was the Mediterranean place that is Avi's. Great choice! The Falafel Pita was full of so many goodies- it was actually kind of hard to hold it and eat it without it falling apart. We found a nice shady spot on the lawn to enjoy your food. I also bought the pistachio baklava, which I haven't tried yet as I was so full from the pita. We admired all the organic foods there- I bought some mushrooms, flowers, broccoli, and then had an iced coffee, which was a perfect ending to our afternoon at the Market.

Now that I'm cooking more from…read morehome, I want to make sure I purchase the best produce and ingredients + support local vendors. The Corte Madera Farmers Market is much smaller and more intimate than the Sunday Farmers Market at the Marin Civic Center. This isn't by any means a bad thing. Bigger isn't always better (or so I've been telling girlfriends for years). Here's the way I look at it - instead of a full kitchen, you're getting a kitchenette. Instead of a full length feature, you're getting a really good short film. It's like the Mini Me of Farmer's Markets. And you know what - that's a-ok by me. Smaller crowds. Prettier environment. Plus, when I'm done shopping, I can poke my head into others stores at the Town Center (Safeway, CVS, Crate and Barrel, etc.). You'll find many of your go-to produce and meat/poultry vendors here. Plus, they have my favorite Indian/Nepalese food vendor here (gotta get me some momos, samosas and dipping sauce). And unlike many of its counterparts, this Farmers Market is open from noon to 5pm (which is much better for my schedule). It's definitely worth checking out. Happy shopping, my peeps! : )

We love the turnip cakes, shrimp dumplings, and the lotus leaf wrapped sticky rice (both chicken and mushroom are good). Prices are high but it saves a trip to alameda or emeryville for dim sum. We went to the Grand Lake Farmer's Market (2 adults, 2 kids) and wanted to grab a bite to eat. We picked one kind of dim sum each and one for the fam. I payed $47. What we received was 1 (!) paper plate with the tiniest dumplings I've ever seen. One plate. $47. That's ridiculous.

I come here for $10 orchids (courtesy of Rodriguez Farms), and the yummy Indian/Himalayan street treats (8 chicken momos for $6; 3 samosas for $4; and plenty of mouthwatering dipping sauces). And of course, you'll find a plethora of seasonal fruits from Northern California farmers/vendors. Best of all, there's lot of stuff to sample while you browse. And who doesn't love to nosh while they shop? Word to the wise: show up early on Friday morning (no later than 11am). Otherwise, you might miss out on the best stuff.

I wasn't totally sure about the hours so I emailed the owners and they replied super quickly and were super friendly and informative. I had a chance to go over today to get some eggs and was delightfully surprised that there's actually a bunch of other wonderful stuff there and, both Ken and Judith were so welcoming and it was just a great experience. I can't wait to go here for all of my egg needs, and get to scoop up whatever else is in season.

It has a good variety of vendors for produce, meat, cheese, mushrooms, breads, body products, jewelry and more. There are a variety food vendors where you can get your fill of dim sum, burgers, Laos sausages, and a wonderful coffee vendor. I think you want to get there earlier than noon. The first time we went, it was about 1pm. We strolled up and down the aisle. By 1:30 there seemed to be little produce and a couple of vendors were starting to pick up. The second time we went a bit earlier. It is about a 20 minute bike ride from the Point so it is convenient. We walked around and saw the same vendors so I feel confident they will be there regularly. Great location with views of the marina and bay from the parking lot. There is a no pet sign but it was posted only at one entrance - and not the one we went through. It was warm and I couldn't leave her in the car. Because she was self-contained in her personal buggy, I didn't think it would be an issue. Still, probably best to leave your furbabies at home. The only negative I have is one vendor blasting music from their booth. I enjoy listening to music but it's so loud that I can't have a conversation with the vendor without yelling, so I move on. Quickly. When you get to the water end of the market, you are blessed with sounds of the bay and birds. Now, that's nice. The second time we rode our bikes from home. It's about a 20 minute bike ride from the Point so it is convenient and it was a beautiful morning. As we rolled up, we were greeted by loud music. Again. Sigh. There are a few tables set up at one end with coloring books and games, entertainment for both grownups and kids alike. You can also grab a bite to eat or something to drink, sit down and enjoy the vibes. Pleasant way to enjoy a sunny day by the bay in Richmond.

What is so great about The Richmond Farmers Market in Marina Bay is the space that is being used. The vendors at this market are very kind. You say hi to them and they start a conversation with you. It is a friendly Farmers Market to come to. I love seeing the people that attend the Farmers Markets. I have not seen anybody trying to bring their pets to the market which is not allowed. I do love how people come here on a Sunday Morning checking out the vendors. When I attended this market I only saw one vendor that had fruits/vegetables. Every other vendor were take out food or clothes. I am not disappointed that the market didn't have much produce vendor but it is still a market nobody if you call it a Farmers Market. Keep up the great work serving Richmond.
