I would give them 5 star but for the fact that they wouldn't text me a photo of the bouquet before it was delivered, which is what I'm used to receiving from various flower shops that I have previously worked with. Incredible service, bespoke arrangements, true art! I looked at so many florists for my wedding bouquet and found Mill Valley Flowers by chance. We live in Los Angeles and arranged to be married in the redwoods of Marin, so logistics were tricky. Mill Valley Flowers made it easy. I asked if they could use the material from my veil to wrap the bouquet and boutonnière, and they said to mail them the material, which I did. I cannot stress how much the arrangements are art. So many wedding bouquets are roses and lilies, which are lovely but a bit flat. As artists, we had a vision of us standing in nature, surrounded by color. They listened to me and really worked to provide a manifestation of our vision. I wanted to dry my bouquet and asked them to choose plants that will dry well. Not only did they make the arrangement look gorgeous, they added thistles, not even knowing I am Scottish! The colors were stunning. We wanted the forest and flowers to be the standouts, which they were. The arrangement was a great value. Given we will cherish this bouquet and boutonnière for many years to come, paying under $300 for these artistic expressions of love is a very good deal. I worked with Mill Valley Flowers for my September 2021 wedding and I was thrilled with their work! After postponing my 2020 wedding for a full year, I found that many florists were completely booked when I reached out in 2021 and many that weren't booked had outrageous minimum budget requirements, especially for my small 80-person wedding. Not giving my money to this flower shop ever again or recommending them. The flowers that were delivered look nothing like what was discussed. I understand some flowers weren't in season so the arrangement wouldn't look exactly like the online photo, but I was assured everything would be in the same color family and I also requested "as bright as possible." I'll let the photos speak for themselves. I would happily pay $85 for the flowers in the first photo. The second photo? Absolutely not. But the real sad part about this whole experience was the AWFUL customer service with the person I spoke with on not one, not two, but THREE occasions--one call to get information and plan for the order, the second call to place the order, the third call to confirm it was delivered. This person straight up sounded like the last thing they wanted to do on earth was be on the phone with me, had the shortest fuse, and just seemed down right annoyed that I was wanting to do business with them. I almost wanted to ask during the first call if I had said something to offend them. I was sooo taken aback! After the first call I thought to myself, "maybe they're just having a bad day. It's fine. Let it go." But same exact experience during the second call AND third call with the same person. I've worked in customer service and hospitality for 12+ years. I understand the stress, the difficulties, etc., but goodness! Can you muster a tiny bit of kindness with a customer? Never again. Total waste of time and money. UPDATE: changing my one star review to a 3 star for now, since the owner's daughter, Wendy, reached out (see her response below) to better understand my experience. My best friend is turning 50 this year, and I wanted to get her something super special. I used to work at a florist in Los Angeles, and am familiar with a lot of flowers, but didn't know if the ones I liked were in season or not. When the woman who answered the phone was beyond rude to me, I felt like hanging up and trying a different florist. The shop came highly recommended to me, so I stayed the course. I only had a few questions, and each one was answered in a very terse, rude tone. She was completely classless from beginning to merciful end. She ultimately gave the phone to another employee that was much more pleasant, and I placed my order. Granted, my budget was not astronomical. I'm not quite sure if that was the issue. Regardless, I feel that an arrangement at any of their price points is sufficient enough to warrant (at the very least) the level of respect I was giving her. As one of my old supervisors explained to me when I was in training: Sending flowers for most people, is a big deal. It's not usually something they do every day and they want it to be special! Master Florists who live up their reputation! The flowers for our wedding were exactly what we had envisioned and we got so many great comments on them! In addition, we decided last minute to put flowers on our cake, Annabella worked flawlessly with our baker and the results were incredible! The larger of the arrangements ended up at my 95 year old grandmothers house - she has more visitors in a day then we have in a month. Hands down my favorite flower shop in Marin, this has been my go-to for many years. They always have an amazing array of choices, the flowers are beautiful and fresh, and the prices are right in line with everyone else in the area. One of my tests of a great florist is their selection of lilacs each spring. Being a long ago East Coaster I crave them every year and they can be hard to find. Mill Valley Flowers always gets a gorgeous selection of lilacs and they last forever - so I've been sold on them for years. I love their little creekside location and their attention to detail. I was so disappointed today. I asked for a tulip arrangement and not only was it phenomenally expensive ($77!) but I only had one request: no pink. I received a photo of the arrangement when it arrived and guess what? Pink! ALL pink! I called and the woman I spoke to was sassy and rude. Sassy in that she said "no, I made the arrangement, and there was no pink." I asked how we could resolve this and rather than provide a helpful solution she responded with sarcasm that they could go and retrieve the flowers and replace them (who would do that? how awkward!) but that was that. Maybe that particular person was having a bad day or just ready to go home, but I absolutely DID NOT get what I paid a lot of $$ for. read more

My wedding was on Saturday October 16, 2010 and I have to strongly and completely disagree with the bride who wrote the bad review of this business for her wedding the weekend before. Annabella is simply wonderful. She listens attentively. She takes notes. She was immediately and accurately responsive to changes I made two weeks before the event. And she spent a lot of time with me (in her home, on the phone and via email) making sure she knew exactly what I wanted for my wedding and reception aboard the Empress Yacht in Sausalito. The flowers (bridal bouquet, corsages, lapel pins, table center pieces, aisle and alter arrangements) were absolutely beautiful and people could not stop telling me how great everything looked, including our photographer. The people who got to take the centerpieces home were giddy to have such a beautiful arrangement from the event. I can't imagine Annabella being anything less than caring and professional with anyone. And she's both creative and attentive. A true flower artist. I was very clear about what overall theme and color palette I wanted, but I let her decide on what specific flowers and details to use based on what she found most fresh at the flower market that weekend. I also did the place cards, table numbers and some other decor elements myself, so Annabella had to coordinate her flowers with my unseen "creations"...and it all turned out perfectly and exactly how we discussed...only better. I almost cried when I saw my bouquet that morning. (Then again, I was almost in tears from happiness A LOT that morning! ) I know about the pedestal stands that the reviewer "Cassie B" refers to in her unfair negative review. They are beautiful and not heavy. We used a pair from Mill Valley Flowers for my wedding and my teeny tiny female wedding planner moved them after our ceremony no problem. My guess is that someone took them from Cassie B's ceremony venue. Annabella does not charge people to use/rent these pedestals like most venues or florist do. If you lose something you rent (even if the fee is zero), it's a bummer, but come on, you have to suck it up and replace what you lost. Not go all post-wedding Bridezilla and complain about the flower colors after the fact because your planner messed up and lost the florist's decorative stands. Sheeesh! I would have no problem recommending Mill Valley Flowers to anyone for ANY special occasion. The prices were great. The service was charming and first rate and the floral elements created lovingly by Annabella were one of the many reasons my wedding day was perfect. read more

I wanted very relaxed florals - loose greens & blooms with some bud vases (I supplied the vases, she filled on the day-of), in addition to the standard bouquets & boutonnieres and a flower for my hair. She gave us exactly what we wanted (with improvements!), within our budget, and she was the kindest, friendliest, easiest person to work with.
