I just had surgery and am not able to drive so called this very local florist to order delivered flowers to bring so brightness into my life. I was hoping for cut flowers for my vase, and because reusing vases is better for the environment. I was even willing to pay extra for the price of a vase. My parents ordered this orchid for my birthday. My mother spent one hour on the phone explaining how to get this delivered to my address. Mill Valley flowers, not only called me while I wasn't home and informed me that I had flowers waiting for me at my home. Guess what? I then received a call, when I got home, that the flowers were delivered to another address. These were expensive to the max, that my parents paid for for my birthday. I then had to get in my car and drive over to where these lazy overpriced Company just dropped the $100 at least orchid. I had to drop all of my birthday plans. My father called them in disbelief that not only did they have my name incorrectly written on the card, but they also didn't take the time to write down the correct address. Mill Valley flowers charges A mark up that is astounding. I just purchased the most beautiful same exact orchid for my daughter at Safeway. I will never ever Buy one flower or support Mill Valley flowers. If you would like good flowers and good orchids, go to Safeway in Strawberry and you will be treated with respect and I'm going to yelp them as well for doing a great job. I am infuriated at Mill Valley flowers. My parents are the nicest, most loving people and each of us had to spend hours trying to find the orchid I posted which by the way is already losing flowers. Very disappointed. I read the reviews and decided to try them. I ordered a dozen long-stem, white roses for Mother's Day. My mother told me that she received yellow roses and they were open. Every time I go to my husband's 91 year old Grandma's house I stop here first and buy her a beautiful, unique bouquet. The flowers are always very fresh and the custom arrangement I walk away with is always something out of a fairy-tale. I read some great reviews here and thought that this would be a good option for my flowers for my wedding. I have worked in the wedding business and know that keeping things simple (as in instructions on exactly what you want with photos and details all in one email and not changing your mind a zillion times) makes it easier on the vendors. I fully recognize that vendors have a lot going on and the easier you can make it for them to have all the details of your request in one spot, the better! So I emailed with exact specifications on what I wanted (one simple bouquet and two corsages.) I added that I might want boutonnieres but wasn't sure quite yet then included photos. During the course of emails with them, I was a little bit put off that there were things in the emails I had not asked for (Annabella kept asking me about centerpieces, which I did not ever ask about as well as continually mixing up the colors I'd requested and the lace I wanted my bouquet wrapped in and asking to confirm my color scheme.) It was obvious to me that my floral request kept getting mixed up with other requests. I wasn't asking for anything crazy (remember one bouquet and two corsages!) so I got really worried about why my request was so confusing for them. So, I sent a nice "thank you but we're going in a different direction" email and got TWO snippy emails in response! The email suggested that I "send my new florist all the information at once." I was especially bothered by this because that is what I'd done in an effort to make things easy (as in, I used bullet points in my email.) So, I fully realize that vendors have lots of events going on at once. But if I'm going to go out of my way to make the email correspondence easy and I only want a very simple set up and a florist confuses it all again and again and sends me two rude emails, you bet I'll be upset. I did end up with another florist who did wonderful work and never once confused my request. read more

Annabella at MVF is a pleasure to deal with. She is great at what she does, she is organized, and more importantly, she really listens to what you want! We had her do our wedding flowers, and she did an outstanding job. The centerpieces were exactly what I wanted - beautiful but not too showy and low so guests could see each others faces! IF YOU ARE ORDERING OUT OF STATE, DOUBLE CHECK THAT THE ARRANGEMENT WAS ACTUALLY DELIVERED. I live in Charlotte, NC. We have several family members in the Mill Valley area. My husband's cousin died in early May. I called and ordered an arrangement from Mill Valley Flowers by phone. I think I spoke with the owner who was flustered saying that they got slammed after Mother's Day and would I be ok with waiting a few days before the arrangement was delivered since she needed to get to the flower market. Yes, that was fine. Then she told me I needed to order a minimum of $75.00 arrangement. That wasn't my plan, but ok. She took down the msg for my card, but I had a bad feeling she didn't get it down right because she kept repeating it back to me wrong. The owner was very snooty to me and dismissive over the phone. The total with delivery came to $84.43 and they were delivering to an address in Mill Valley. I was hoping for the best because they were so highly rated on Yelp....they must be good right? The charge came thru on my credit card almost immediately after hanging up with her. (I believe Generally Accepted Accounting Rules state that businesses shouldn't charge for services until the service portion has been completed, but I guess this business believes in people paying ahead.) In mid June, my husband and I showed up to his cousin's memorial service just down the street from Mill Valley Flowers. I asked his brother "Did you get the flowers?" Nope. The flower shop even had had his phone number, but no one called and nothing delivered. And the best part was - Mill Valley Flowers didn't even know. They didn't call me to tell me they screwed up. I then stopped into their shop. What a surprise that someone from North Carolina would show up to check on the order?! They had no record of it. I had to look up my credit card statement, provide the transaction number, where it was going, etc etc. The manager refunded me the money. Then one of the workers called me about a week later when I was back in North Carolina and asked for all that information AGAIN. Thankfully I worked with two different florists for this event and if you are needing a florist in the area, I recommend Village Green Florist over in Fairfax, CA instead. Unfortunately, I have to report on a negative experience I had with Mill Valley Flowers. I called to order flowers for Mother's Day for my mom, who lives in Mill Valley. The first time I called, a week before Mother's Day, the woman on the phone said they were busy and she would call me back. She didn't call me back, so I called the next day. Again, they said they would call me back, but I had to call a third time to put in the order. At this point, I was frustrated, but I wanted to give them a chance. Come Mother's Day, they never delivered the flowers to my mom, despite charging me $95. I called the shop in the afternoon, and they said that they could not give me any details about my order, but that flowers were still being delivered. My mom's flowers never got delivered. I called the next day (today) and they told me they had written the address down wrong. Normally, I would be understanding about this, except that their prices were really high, they had both my cell phone number and my mom's cell phone number, and they could have called to double check on the address if there was any confusion. I honestly expected much better. And they were not very apologetic about their mistake. I've worked in customer service for many years, and If this were my business, I would have delivered the flowers for free. I am going to have to call them back just to make sure I get a refund. It's not a good feeling not to be able to treat your mom to something nice on Mother's Day from far away! I do not recommend this business read more
