Writing a review to express my gratitude and appreciation for this small yet amazing community. I have lived at Casa Vista Apartments since 2014 and have had the best experience with the property management team over the years. Carla is always prompt and professional when responding to any of my requests or concerns. You can tell she takes pride in her job and really cares about the residents living here. She is truly one of the main reasons why I have lived here for so long. Maintenance team is also top tier. David is amazing at servicing any issues or repairs. He truly works hard and provides the best customer service. My stove recently needed to be replaced and the process was seamless! Within a few days I had a brand new and beautiful replacement. Parking is great, the laundry room is always maintained and clean! The landscaping is unlike any other! It feels like a tropical getaway. Inside the apartments there's spacious storage and lots of natural light. I love living here because of the affordable rent prices and I don't see myself leaving anytime soon! read more

Very quiet and clean place to live. However, the property does not allow for the hot water to go above 110 so forget about taking hot showers. The water is lukewarm and when you come home from a long day wishing to take a hot shower forgot about it. Therefore, because of the hot water issue I'm giving 3 stars. read more

I LOVE LIVING AT CASA VISTA. It's super well kept and quiet... not to mention, absolutely beautiful. We have lived here for 6 months and have had ZERO problems. Which I think is rare considering my past apartment experiences. In fact, the management is the most helpful, caring, responsive and friendliest I've ever dealt with. They really are incredible. Carla, the manager, is super kind and always makes sure the complex is perfect. And don't get me started on the maintenance man, David. He is super cool and helpful and we love him so much. If you're thinking about living here, do it. The location is perfect too. Like 7 minutes to Oceanside beaches? That's crazy. And if you have a west facing window, you can even see a pinch of the ocean on a clear day! read more

There was something magical about being able to walk outside of my apartment and feel like I was instantly on vacation. One of the main reasons why I chose to take on a year with CV was just how lush and green the property was - you can't throw a stone in this complex (don't do that) without hitting a bird of paradise or a gorgeous palm tree. I think almost every apartment has a lovely view of the pool. The manager Carla was on point. Never had a leak or issue with the apartment that wasn't addressed and solved within 24 hrs. Overall I really liked staying here and if you're looking for a new home, this was a great find. It's oddly quiet and literally walking distance from at least 3 grocery stores. The one drawback is that parking is LIMITED. Past 5pm it's quite difficult to find a spot. The community has gated parking so you'll be guaranteed a spot, but if you've got 2 cars, it can get kinda dicey. So be wary of that. read more

I lived in casa vista apartments for almost a year and it was the best apartment complex I have ever lived in. The grounds are lush & beautiful so coming home felt like walking around in a tropical paradise. Plus, there is a great ocean breeze because the apartment is situated at the top of one of the hills in Oceanside. It is SAFE and ALWAYS QUIET. I felt really safe, which was the most important factor to me in my apartment choice because I lived alone & came home late at night from work on several occasions. Carla, the property manager (who is very straightforward, direct, and overall a great property manager) tells incoming residents that it is a quiet property and she means it. It's a really safe, peaceful, and nice place to live and I enjoyed my experience living there. read more

My husband and I were moving from North Carolina to California May 2019 and had to decide on a 2 bedroom apartment near my job. I read all google and yelp reviews on many apartments in Oceanside. Casa Vista had high reviews and pictures posted helped us know what it looked like inside. We were very happy with finding Casa Visa because we liked it's privately owned and forty plus apartments in a beautiful landscape gated community. It's quiet and everyone we have met is nice. We have 1 car port for a vehicle and 1 for another all within the gate of our complex. I feel safe and our balcony view is beautiful, and our front door faces beautiful green palms. read more

This place is great, but the people are even better! I've enjoyed living at Casa Vista and wanted to leave a review to express my appreciation for Carla and David. I moved from Los Angeles to San Diego in order to be closer to family. Carla made my experience so easy (even before I visited the complex) that I knew this was the right place for me! I lived in these apartments for 4 years from 2015-2019... I have to say. This place will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart. The grounds are gorgeous... the first day I walked in I felt like I was in Hawaii, which really is inevitably what sold my roommate and I on the place. The apartment we were in was a two bedroom, 2 bath double master... with a grassy backyard that my dog loved. The sunset views from our living room were always beautiful and something I looked forward to every day when I came home. Property managers (there were 3 in the 4 years I lived there) were all great and very nice! Everything in the complex was always very well maintained and groomed. Parking was great for us, as we got two spots inside the gate, but for our guests, it was sometimes very rough.... and pretty frustrating. But that really is the only downside of the whole place. read more

I lived at the Casa Vista Apartments for 1 year 2018/19 and the experience in a nutshell was nothing short than Amazing. First off, the Apartment complex itself sits on the side of a hill and looks absolutely gorgeous. It's well kept and has many family friendly commodities (ex. Gas Grills, Ping Pong Tables & Pool/Spa). The rooms themselves are clean and very spacious for the prices we paid. It's close to 78 freeway, Carlsbad Mall, movie theaters and much more. They offer two parking spots for each room (manageable) and I felt completely safe parking my car on the street if I had to. The complex demographic is family oriented, dog friendly and very quiet at night (Winner for me). The laundry room is in the middle of the complex and maintained often to ensure the equipment works well. Of Course, what I listed above is what any resident would expect from the Apartment they intend on living. Which comes to why I would stay at Casa Vista if I could. The Awesome Staff. Carla (Resident Manager) was Nice, Responsive and very helpful if we needed it. She went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable throughout the year. If we ever had an issue she was on top of it and would have their awesome maintenance workers out in a jiffy to resolve the issues we had. Overall the Apartment Complex was the best I've stayed at thus far and hope the next can replicate what Casa Vista gave us this past year in 2018/19. read more

Amazing apartment complex! My husband and I moved here one month ago from Colorado and have become so swoon! David the maintenance manager is incredible, he always is around for assistance whenever you need and is so gracious and kind. Carla has been so easy to communicate with and made the process of moving out of state seamless. The apartments are beautiful and renovated. They are so well taken care of and the complex is seriously like a tropical vacation. The apartment complex is very quiet and safe. Near shopping centers. Also the pool is pretty cold, but beautiful place to hang out at. If you can live here you sure are lucky! read more

Gosh, where do I start! Casa Vista has been noting but kind to me since living here. I have been here for six months now and have no problems with the apartment, management, or amenities! My partner and I recently split up and she moved out. I thought walking into the process that it would be emotionally draining and very long but Carla made it just the opposite! She has been nothing but kind and supportive for me and persistently finds ways to make my situation work. The location is also perfect as it is right next to the 78 but you hear NO NOISE! The neighbors are all extremely friendly and the lunch green environment keeps it nice and keep even during the hot summer. I am super thankful that I was able to snag a spot living here! read more

I lived at Casa Vista Apartments for a year and a half. The office manager when I signed was Cindy. She was so warm and nice. She was part of the reason I moved here. Shortly after I moved in she was replaced. The best part of living here is that it is a non smoking community. Another reason is that the owner is an older woman and not a corporation. The apartments themselves are small and expensive. There is a lot of greenery around the complex, which is nice. It's a smaller complex, so you do get to know some of your neighbors. It is relatively quiet. I did have noisy neighbors below me, but they moved out after six months. Maintenance is decent and comes to fix stuff with day or so. The area itself is just meh. The street that it is on has other apartment complexes. You will hear a car alarm going off at least once a day. There was a stabbing at another complex while I was living there. The street is very busy and you have to be extra careful driving or walking on it.e When I moved out, I cleaned the entire apartment. It was spotless. According to the lease, it had to be restored to the cleanliness that was there when you moved in. I received my deposit back, and they charged me $130 for "professional" cleaning. The office manager said that was standard. If I didn't live in AZ I would take them to small claims court and win. That is not what was in the contract. Beware. read more

They respond so quickly to any requests that I have. I have been here for 4 years and I'm very happy living here. The property is beautiful and well maintained. David, the maintenance manager, is always pleasant and very professional. I've lived in other places and there has never been another property manager on top of things more than Carla. We were here from September 2017 to June 2018. The office manager Cindy was so nice but she left and someone else replaced her. This lady wasn't very pleasant. She had a maintenance guy looked into my car to see if i had their parking sticker and I did. I walked up to him and asked him if there was a problem and he asked my name and which apartment I lived in because he has never seen me. I gave him my name and my apartment number and told him I'm also on the lease and I told him I work a lot which is why they don't ever see me. Second incident was on my day off. I went to do laundry and when I came back to retrieve my clothes, Carla locked the door to the laundry room. I went to her office and asked if she can unlock it because I don't have a laundry key because my boyfriend keeps it on his keychain and he was at work. She asks me my name and my apartment number and looks up my file to see if I was on the lease and then tells me they keep it locked because random people come by to use their laundromat. This is laughable because all the washers and dryers use a laundry card that only casa vista hands out. Lastly when we moved out and had a walk with Carla and the maintenance guy, they noted how cleaned our apartment was and that there wouldn't be any deductions. When we got our deposit back, she had taken over 300 from our deposit for cleaning fees. I would like to point out that it is illegal for an apartment to overcharge you for items being in excess of normal wear and tear. Landlords also cannot charge you for cleaning if it's not required on the lease - meaning if you did not receive a unit that was not professionally cleaned then you should not be charged for your unit being professionally cleaned if it is not in excess of normal wear and tear. The lease never stipulated professional cleaning was required but Carla charged us for professional cleaning when the lease didn't even have that as a requirement and we left the apartment in great condition - the new tenant moved in right away! Offstreet parking is horrendous. Please don't rent from this place. read more

I have lived at Casa Vista Apartments for 7 years, and as a long term resident, I can truthfully tell you what a wonderful place this is to live. It is with a heavy heart I must leave my home and relocate at this time. Casa Vista was truly a sanctuary for me, coming to live here after the loss of my mother. It has been a peaceful, quiet, safe, private, clean, comfortable and beautiful environment to live in. Every day I felt I was coming home to Hawaii within the lush green tropical surrounds. During my stay, I never once had an ant or a spider in my apartment. The apartment manager is always friendly and helpful. I cannot say enough great things about this apartment complex. We just moved after almost three years of living at Casa vista. We lived in a one bedroom for one year, and then a two bedroom with the yard for almost two years. It's a beautiful apartment complex and the landscapers do a fabulous job. The cons are that the buildings are old and need fixing up as far as plumping etc and we were unlucky with noisy neighbors for quite a while, but overall we loved our time there. The best takeaway was the manager, Carla, who is an absolute gem of a person. From viewing the apartment initially and then through living there, Carla has been amazing every step of the way. The best apartment manager I've ever met, and after moving out of state (we are a military family) and dealing with other apartment managers, we miss Carla quite a lot. It makes a huge difference having a manager that cares and is kind, and Carla was amazing every step of the way. She responds quickly to emails and calls, genuinely cares about issues and noise complaints and follows through, and is quick to take care of issues with maintenance. I have been meaning to write a review about this fantastic complex! Boyfriend and I just celebrated our one year here and we are still so happy we moved here!! From the moment we saw the landscaping and the space in the units, we fell in love! The unit we chose also has the most amazing view overlooking the hills of Oceanside and Carlsbad. Our apartment manager (who is amazing!) sealed the deal for us and was a major reason we chose to live here. She is incredibly sweet and obviously has a lot of experience running a safe and clean apartment complex. She makes sure to let all tenants know of any issues that may occur here or even in the surrounding apartments. We feel so safe coming home every night and we have met the friendliest neighbors. The year that we have been here we haven't had any issues and we are so thankful for that! read more

Truly an amazing place to live. The units here are very nice and well maintained. The property itself is just gorgeous and it makes you feel like you're literally in paradise. I moved here about six months ago and was ready to sign the lease without even seeing the unit.(Did a virtual tour) Even though I was about 95% convinced I was making a right choice moving to Casa Vista what really sealed the deal was Carla, the amazing property manager. She was very welcoming, sweet, and easy to talk to. She made the entire processes super easy and has been AMAZIING to work with while living here. David , our maintenance manager, is also AMAZING. On my move in day he approach me right outside my door and asked how everything was going and if there was anything that I needed. He then kept the following up for a few days occasionally asking if everything was going good so far. Overall 10/10 in my books! read more

Ive been meaning to write a review. I moved out after my 1 year lease was up. I could barely fit my truck in the designated spot, I did not feel safe living there because there was a stabbing down the street and there were lots of people walking around at really late/early hours of the day. The management was sweet and she always checked in on me a lot because it was my first place. I did always have problems with ants even though i never left anything out and kept the place clean. The final straw for me was that they neighbors were having her come to us about my and my boyfriends trucks. I have a little f150 and he had an f350 for work. We would have to leave our place at 5-6am on the weekends for work but when everyone with their loud little motorcycles and cars, there was nothing that she could do. That to me was complete BS. Oh and talk about FOOT TRAFFIC!!!! We lived in a top corner apartment by the street and dear lordy, the place next to us was nonstop people walking in and out from about 6am to (i kid you not) 11pm. I would move back if my last option in the world. read more

I currently reside here and I can't imagine an apartment complex that could be more amazing. My husband and I have had a great experience here every since we first stopped by to get information on the complex. Danette the apartment mmanager is very organized and great at making her tenants feel like family. Mantienance acts very quicly to resolve all issues. I feel very safe here because of how closely Danette watches everything and its a bonus that she lives here. Landscaping is well kept and all of the greenery makes it feel like a vacation spot. when I first moved in I felt like I was in a used car sales place. this is the most expensive place up here on the hill. but yet this was the only place I was able to get into. funny huh??? I was only able to sign a6 month lease she would not let me sign a longer lease. that scared me a lot. because in 6 months she can raise my rent if I have to stay here. scary huh?? but I was transferred up here so I accepted the place and moved in. I live right below the landlord. she said this is a quiet place. 2 months after moving in when my neighbors had a party until 230 in the morning. which the landlord was there at the party. I went down to my neighbors twice baking them to please be quiet because I have to work the next couple hours. I slept in and missed work. and got written up for it. I went in couple days later and talked to my mom about it. she bakes a not to say a word about it but I am. 4 months later my neighbors say neighbors had another party but until 4 in the morning. again tomorrow morning lie to me and said the cops were called but they were never called. like a great used car salesman she's a great Bull ...... now I'm right behind me she's having all the trees cut down because for the past 5 years they've been Beezs in them. you can look down below me into the peoples duplex houses and they can look into my place. haha I really feel safe now. when my lease is up I am moving. I feel scared and unsafe there everybody can see an and people can walk in anytime they want. read more

I have lived here a little over six months. My fiance and I decided to call this place home because it is in a prime location, the look and feel of this complex is relaxed, and tropical, and just the feeling of being welcomed! I really love how private it is compared to others in the area. I also feel SAFE! More times than not the apartments in Oceanside do NOT have a safe feel to them. Safety is of utmost importance to me, seeing as how I am from Wisconsin (all my family is back there), and my fiance is in the marines, and isn't always here. Other things I like about this place is the layout of the apartment itself. There is ample storage both in the garage and in the apartment itself, the apartments are clean and well kept when moving in, and the apartments are very very spacious!! I also love the community feel. Everyone knows everyone, and there isn't any drama! All the apartment amenities are awesome! The laundry room is clean, and the machines are in great condition, the pool / ping pong / grilling area is always clean, the grounds are always spotless and the landscaping (again) is always spot on! Parking used to be a bit of a struggle, but that issue has been fixed which is great! Speaking of issues, any issue or maintenance problem you have here, it's fixed within the first 24 hours of you reporting it (which beats all the other apartment complexes on the hill from what I've heard!!) The manager lives on site, which is great in case of emergency issues, and she puts in so may hours to make sure that everything is alright and everyone is happy! For instance, one morning the electricity went out (4:30AM) and she was up making sure everything was ok and was willing to help if needed! She was up for 12+ hours that day! I like that sort of dedication. There are so many other examples of great things she has done for this complex.. definitely to many to list. She makes it feel like home, and really helped with the transition of moving across country! The maintenance guy is also great! he's always around to help fix issues, he is ALWAYS working, and really has this place running smooth! The manager and him are a great team! If there was one negative thing I would have to say about this place, it would be the noisy cars trying to make it up the hill (motorcycles etc) and the occasional yelling being heard from other apartment complexes in the area. My family and I moved in may of 2013. my wife I have two boys, one is 17 and the other is 12 .We have not been any happier in renting an apartment since we lost our house .We have a bottom unit which comes with a yard ,keeping the wife busy in her garden and just enough to go out and throw the ball with my boys. We sit watching the most beautifulest sunsets .We call this our home .management and maintenance sure do their job well in keeping this place in picture perfect condition. the pool is awesome with built in Barb's and ping pong table's couldn't of been more blessed to find this place . read more

These apartments used to be beautiful and a dream to live in but then the owner fired the manager Jim and things have gone down hill ever since. I wouldnt recomment moving in the way things are run now. Jim used to keep the grounds clean and make sure the people he allowed to move in were respectful and quiet. The manager now is lazy,rude and doesnt seem to care much about how the place is running. Some people moved out over 10 days ago and left trash in the parking lot ( boxes and tables) they still have not moved and she hasnt had the grounds keeper clean it. My boyfriend and I searched for a month, checking out apartment complexes. My dad and stepmom were helping us out trying to find the perfect place for our first apartment. From the moment we arrived at Casa Vista, we all felt welcomed, comforted, and excited! Before we even saw a unit, the apartment manager won our hearts with her inviting and personable manor. She was not in the least bit bothered by us being young tenants, because she wanted to get to know us as people, rather than form a predetermined assumption about who we really are. When we got to see the available unit, we were all sold! The unit was beautiful and perfect size for our needs. We moved in the next week, and have been here for 6 months now. Every need we have had, our manager has addressed. I always feel safe in this complex. Our manager is like a second mom to us! She is so caring and attentive. We are SPOILED by having found this place for our first apartment. On top of all our happiness from living here, every time my dad visits he tells me how happy he is with his little girl living in such a safe, appealing, and all around perfect complex. The flexibility of the 6 month lease option is also comforting because if we ever needed to move because of a change in income, we would not have to worry about the repercussions of breaking a lease. This place is beautiful, well-maintained, and absolutely pleasant. As long as we can afford to, we will stay here in 100% confidence of knowing we found a true gem!! read more

My girlfriend and I have lived here for almost a year and have experienced nothing but the best from Casa Vista. Firstly, the property is full of lush greenery composed of palm trees, birds of paradise and beautiful morning glories; it feels as if we live off the 101 in Carlsbad or Encinitas. The location is awesome as well. Only a two minute drive to Mira Costa, not to mention easy access to the 5, 78 and 76. Our neighbors are all very friendly, it is obvious that the management puts a great deal of thought into developing a cohesive and agreeable neighborhood. We brought along out little dachshund Lewis to the community and he has made many friends too! Another great part of our property is the handy man Bob. He is awesome, such a friendly guy and always willing to help out in any situation. Whether it be fixing your toilet fixture or helping you with your car, he is always around with a smile on. The best part of this apartment community is the manger Dannette. Of all the places we have lived, she has surpassed our expectations by far. From the minute we applied for residency she has always been so caring and respectful towards us. She is always there when we need her and has become more than just a "landlord". Her ability to show genuine interest in her tenants coupled with a respect for privacy displays a fine balance of property management that is hard to find. We love living here and would highly recommend looking into applying for a place to call home at Casa Vista. read more

I used to love living here but ever since there was a change in management, I truly HATE having to come home to this awful place. Not only is parking a disaster but the new manager, Cindy, is a real pain in the ass, she is rude, hard to talk to and extremely unreasonable!!!!! Did I mention, she is extremely RUDE??? Don't expect to have anything fixed on time or to be able to talk to a person with reason. Her attitude is what ruined it for me. Stay away! read more

CAUTION. These apartments look nice inside and the price is nearly unbeatable when compared to other complexes in the surrounding area, however the management is absolutely horrid. They have a serious termite problem throughout the entire unit that goes ignored. My husband and I alone made at least three complains in the span of two months and the problem still persist. I've had winged swarms of these nasty bugs in my living room, hall way, kitchen and my bedroom. I must of killed at least 120 termites every week for two months straight. It got to the point that we were embarrassed to invite anyone over. I've also had the maintenance man walk into my apartment without any notice what so ever while I was in bed. I woke up to a loud noise and when I walked out of my bedroom I noticed a man standing in my kitchen. When confronted he said "I'm sorry, I didn't know anyone was home." Keep in mind these apartments get extremely/uncomfortably hot in the summer and ridiculously cold in the winter. And be careful when signing your lease they have you pay for regular maintenance cleaning out of your deposit so if your deposit is $400 expect only $80 back. Just don't be fooled by the nice countertops and large bedrooms cause at the end of the day it's not worth it if you have termites crawling on your couches and you can't sleep cause you're sweating like a pig. Management couldn't care less. P.S. If you happen to get fed up and are considering taking them to court your lease also has a clause that states if they win the case you must pay their attorney fees. After living there I completely understand why they added this clause to their lease agreement, its because they know people could take them to court and this would discourage them from doing so. read more

I have lived here almost a year. I love this place. They have all sorts of lush landscaping around which seems pretty unusual from other places I checked out. I feel like I am in a tropical resort. Also this place is really quiet and I live right close to the pool. The manager lives on site which is a good thing in my opinion. She keeps a close eye on any thing that needs to be addressed such as people not from the complex using the laundry or pool. I feel very safe here and all the residents that I've met are great, polite, and seem very respectful of others. Even though this complex is very close to I-78 I never hear traffic either. I think its because its up on top of a hill. The apartment was very clean when I moved in and the manager seems very organized. Whenever i have had to have maintenance look at something they are usually at my place the same day or the next day. They even changed my light bulbs. read more
